      @@mikeicee Well, the Demon was the ends of the line of the Challenger as we know it (that's not an EV). This is just the beginning of the new S650 Mustang, and the GT is still a V8, and we already have two exiting variants, also having V8's, such as the Dark Horse, and the new GTD. Then we could have other variants like the MACH 1, Bullit, GT350, GT500, and Super Snake, which could hopefully push gas cars for a little while longer.

    It may not be “beautiful” in the traditional sense but I think the design is absolutely stunning! Looks like nothing else and form follows function. I’m glad Ford did this, regardless of price point. Great to have another big engine race car for the road before everything else goes electric.

      There's new gasoline engine technologies that competes against electric cars... take a look at the Toyota Corolla GR, 3 cylinder engine with 300hp, and it's only getting better. I still have hope in combustion engines over electric. Gas cars are getting so green it would take you over 5 years of driving electric to be more green than that Corolla. And most people switch their cars before 5 years, mostly in electric cars.

    At this point, I genuinely believe that Ford is trying to fill the void left wide open by the Corvette with the Mustang (cuz now the Corvette is mid-engine and competing with the big boys, so there’s no front engine American sports car anymore since the Dodge Viper was discontinued 6 years ago). Why else would they introduce the Dark Horse variant, or even send this car racing instead of creating a next gen Ford GT? Idk how I feel abt this new direction, but I applaud the effort

    • @burgerbandit3646
      @burgerbandit3646 Год назад +3

      I disagree with that take. The Darkhorse isn't targeting at the Corvette, it's targeted toward muscle car lovers who want decent power. If this was targeted toward the Corvette, it wouldn't be so expensive.

    • @mrsoisauce9017
      @mrsoisauce9017 Год назад +12

      @@burgerbandit3646 look, the point is: I feel like Ford is putting in some effort to jack up the Mustang and make it a more legitimate competitor to European cars like the Porsche 911 and the Mercedes-AMG GT, seeing as though its only competition is gone and forcing it to step up to new competitors (and especially for what will probably be the last ICE-powered Mustang, Ford would definitely want to make it the ultimate swan song by bumping it up just a tiny bit to compete with far more expensive European sports cars). This is especially made clear to me when I heard that this car has DRS: a feature I am nearly *CERTAIN* Ford poached from the 992 911 GT3 RS so it had the speed to compete. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aim the Shelby GT350 at the 911 Turbo or some shit

      C8 Z06 if money is limited, this Mustang if the budget is unlimited because its such a unique and hard core race car homologation special and will gain so much in value also over time. Id by both the C8 Z06 (Z07), and this Mustang GTD if I had the unlimited budget, both cars are very special in their own ways.@@vuckyabx

    Yes, this is very wild. They'll sell everyone, but those who own exotics won't buy this. Those customers generally don't want something related to what many people can afford. It's still, a Mustang! Only for 300grand! I applaud the bravado.

      Every time Ford builds a high dollar limited edition car it sells out immediately. They have been doing a great job of this since the 60's. Who cares who is buying them as long as they are selling.

    Ford needs to take a 1968 mustang design and make it modern. This new model doesn’t even look like a mustang anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice mustang but starting to look like another car.

    • @themidnighttavern6784
      @themidnighttavern6784 Год назад

      So this design is very clearly inspired by the '67-68 mustang fastback. Just look at the sharply angled trunk lid, that's a strong call back to the 60s concaved trunk lid.

      @@orangewhip115 I mean, it has the unified horizonal brow that runs across the top of the grille and headlights. The large traditional grille, the lower intakes. It still has some throw backs to the 60s car. Car design would just be incredibly depressing to me if it became nothing but re-releasing retro designs. I like seeing the new stuff.
      The old stuff is still there, even after every '67 mustang is scrapped, you'll be able to buy brand new replica 1967 mustangs from aftermarket suppliers. I want something new man, not just playing out humanity's greatest hits on repeat over and over.
