I been using paddle frogs for over 20 years. Sure, buzzing them is great and explosive. But the best thing is that they sink. On days when bass don't want to break the surface, drag them 4ft and stop. Now you got a scared frog diving. Bass might be following it. Some are curious but sluggish, or wary, or lazy, etc. A drag, stop watch your line a little, pattern works when a floating frog doesn't. Also drag on the bottom pause pattern works too. Maybe bass think it's a frog or maybe a crayfish. I've caught fish swimming it mid-level. It is a very useful lure, but no lure is magic. More people should try them.

I enjoy using these toad style frogs. 1 of my better days, had a white Stanley Ribbit on a light weighted swimbait hook & fishing it just under the surface like a spinnerbait...gets smoked! Best part is, they'll never be out of stock.. Scopers probably can't use these with their video game 😂

If scopers cant use them they will not exist pretty soon

I do use the double hook but I cut the lil weight off and the hook is a lil long but I come through the very beginning of the legs close to the body and then Tex Spose the hooks into the body but come completely through the legs close to the body , I think it works better than an EWG in the grass

I like to fish them over weeds and pads. So, the hook can't be exposed. On a blow up, I drop my rod tip andwait until the fish pulls the line.also

Hi, Randy. I've watched you for a while now, but your stance on FFS/Livescope, etc., has earned a sub from me. I don't have a dog in that fight, I'm just a recreational bank fisherman. But I think it would be sad if young kids today grow up without the role models I had as a kid. People like Bill Dance, Roland Martin, and many others. Fishermen who actually FISHED, who knew how to find them and how to catch them. Something to aspire to, and a reason to actually go out and truely interact with nature. Thank you.

Good advice on the hook set. When I was younger I used to miss them on frogs because I didn’t wait that extra 2-3 seconds.

Killer horney toad tip, never seen one rigged like that but I can see how the hook-ups will definitely be better like that

The zoom frog will float were the toad won’t, that’s because it’s made from plastic similar to condoms! It’s a great bait! Shhhh! It’s been a secret killer bait for me!

That’s been my issue… when that surface frog gets blown up, I used to yank like my life depended on it… I learned the hard way, as I threw out the frog once, got a terrible backlash, and as I was picking out the backlash, a bass got the frog… well damm, it took me a couple seconds to reel even with the backlash, and I caught the bass… lesson learned… when in doubt, don’t yank it out… wait a couple
    Seconds!!!

I think its funny how he always says you don't want to do this and "this" is the way all other professionals say to do it cause it works best. One guy or dozens of others with the same idea?

What I'm hearing is the frog is your bobber. My bassin skills remain marginal since I started but I did figure this one out early on.

I bet hook ups would be great with that rigging. I have a hard time puttin down a buzzbait cuz they come thru stuff so good . Pads especially

I would never do this because I am sure that it would hook far more fish in the gills rather than the roof of the mouth I'm surprised you would give this advice
