“I remember being at midtown comics getting some yu-gi-oh cards”
damn Tim that’s some humanizing shit right there
If you know where I can get rid of my kid's old CHAOTIC cards... I'd be much obliged.
Was just on that corner today getting McDonald’s. I love that comic book store
lol when I heard that i geek out, there is where I take my kids to get comics....people pass through there and they don't even notice the place since it is on a 2nd floor I discovered it like 15 years ago, like 3 years I moved to NJ, I hope they would never close down...people still need graphic comics
@@TheJimprez if only. I still have my machine deck and I could never get into the fusion aspect that chaos revolves around
Timothee was awesome in Dune. He’s the best young actor around today. I was also impressed with Zendaya despite her lack of screen time I can tell they have great chemistry. Bring on Part Two!
Stephen: “do you have to kiss in a chemistry read”
Zendaya: “No”
Timothee: “No”
Timothee again: “NOOOOOOOOOO”
I think the long No was from Tom Holland somewhere
So yes
ruclips.net/video/MzaCQde6Qc8/видео.html
@@shamhoshino Wait, Chalamet and Tom Holland had to do a chemistry read?
I.........I need to lie down.
@@shamhoshino BAHAHA
I like how Zendaya has more screentime in this interview than the entire movie
Edit: Yes I read the books, stop with the "ackshually" replies
ruclips.net/video/MzaCQde6Qc8/видео.html
I mean, given how the story unfolds it wouldn't make a ton of sense to try to have her appear more.
@@telectronix1368 I guess yeah, plus part 2 is inevitable at this point
Not quite sure that holds up, given how much she is in the dream sequences.
The plodding pace of the movie's sequences (the movie as such is still kind of a ride, but the individual dream sequences are relatively long, unflinching stares at the particular object) might obscure how long she's actually there.
And yes, the second part is bound to have her in it more.
If you think she’s going to have a bigger role in part two your gravely mistaken she’ll probably have a few more lines and screen time but if you’ve read the book then you know why.
Watched the movie last weekend. As a Dune-file it was eye candy for me. Just brilliant casting and acting. Please, go to the theater and watch because that is what will drive the studio to make ‘part two’. This work of art can not be left incomplete.
The pace at wich the movie is being set at their will have to be 3 movies.
Saw it with the family yesterday.
Look forward to the action filled part 2.
Tbh the first part is useless without the second .. great movie but it's just an intro
It looked good but what movie doesn't today. It's still not a finished product and should have been a premium series. At $165M that's at 30 ep series that would tell a much richer story. The movie format is dead, all these new movies just confirm that.
Here in Germany I’ve sadly missed the time when it was shown on the main big screens. But I’ve watched it with different friends twice now.
It’s unbelievable great. The visuals are so fantastic.
Mates in the US: watch on in the big screens in the cinemas!
Can we talk about the sound effects in the background, I'm in love
ruclips.net/video/MzaCQde6Qc8/видео.html
But you don't find loons in the desert
Thank goodness no sandstorm popped up...😂😂😂
Plus, Chalamet putting his hands in jacket pockets give it a feel that Arrakis is cold.
this is some next level geeking out and I love it so much, stephen.
ruclips.net/video/MzaCQde6Qc8/видео.html
they talked about casting, bad breath, and how they didn't read the books - Colbert is a geek, but there was actually zero geeking out here
it's so weird how people nowadays want to get hyped on behalf of movie stars like they're their press agents
its Vill NOV!
Timothée Chalamet is one of the few people I've heard who actually knows that the act of inception (from the movie) is about planting an idea in someone's head. Most people seem to think it's the dream-within-a-dream thing.
Because most of "Inception" wasn't actually about inception
ruclips.net/video/MzaCQde6Qc8/видео.html
Everyone who actually remembers the plot, probably knows what the "inception" in the film is, they just associate the film more with the dream stuff. Which makes sense, since it was sold as the 'overly-complicated dream movie'
So you've talked to the millions of people who've watched Inception all around the world....and most of them told you that they think it's a dream-within-a-dream? I don't remember you talking to me and I've always thought about Inception being about planting an idea in someone's head. How do you know that's not what a higher percentage of people (in the whole world, outside of your little bubble) are thinking?
Watched Dune tonight and here's my review: Dune is a movie. That is all.
The sound of wind blowing in the background during the interview completely killed me

These two are just pure charisma.
One of the best IMAX cinematic experiences I have ever witnessed.
This is one of those "green screen" interviews that Oprah has been doing lately; Zendaya and Timothee were in London (where they did press and where also Dune had its world premiere) while Stephen was in New York.
Wow it’s actually really cool that they weren’t in the same room.
I love how both actors can't confess, that they never heard of the book before 🤣
timmys read the book in prep for the film and talked about before…. plenty of ppl their age have never heard of dune before they are young
@@sammysoppy3361 that's reasonable considering it's publishing date.
@@user-jp2zw4kw3y Considering the publishing date of Lord of the Rings you'd think no one of say... "Colbert's age" would have read it either... That said, I never read Dune (or any of the many backstory books) but that's largely because I don't like to read books, I did see the David Lynch movie that came out in 1984 though, as well as the TNT (I think) miniseries
@@Mike__B True, but I think the OP was speaking not just to the literal publishing date, but to when the books were popular. Lord of the Rings was incredibly popular in the 90s (and the decade prior) when I was growing up, despite when it was published. I remember when the HP books came out, it was often said to be a more kid friendly read and those who wanted to challenge themselves (I was in the 6th grade at the time) could try their hand at LOTR.
Librarians were also much more utilized as well and kept the older classics alive. I read so many things my school and public librarian suggested to me. They knew me well. I don't think Dune is very popular book right now with younger people, though this movie will bring it back into the spotlight. Books go in and out popularity, unless they're read in school.
Sometimes reading the source material can affect a actor’s performance tbh, it really depends on the person !

My teenager and I saw it at our city's first showing tonight! It was so good, she's already picked up the books! (When do I tell her there's 9 total?)
Tell her that only the first book really counts. All the others ("I Was a Teenage Dune", "The Three Stooges Meet Dune", "Dune vs Godzilla", "Hope and Crosby on the Road to Dune", etc.) are tired derivatives.
There are only six by Frank. The rest are the extended Duniverse written by Frankie’s son.
The first is king. He wrote the others years and years later.
9? With his son's prequels & such there's around 26.

I hate to burst your bubble but Duncan Idaho is the true main character in the Dune series. He gets reincarnated over and over again as a Ghola over the course of thousands of years by the Tleilaxu on order by the God Emperor Leto II and then by the Bene Gesserit after the God Emperor’s demise! Duncan Idaho eventually becomes the Ultimate Kwisatz Haderach long after Paul and Chani have passed on. Paul eventually loses his mind and becomes a blind desert hermit ala Obiwan Kenobi. Chani dies giving brith to Leto II and twin sister Ghanima in Book 2!!! So indeed Jason Momoa has plenty of screen time coming up if they end up making all six DUNE books into movies!

Oh goodie goodie
Caught It In IMAX Last Night……IT’S A PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE.
My Only Takeaway:
When a Studio green lights a project of this scale; you “Run The Gauntlet” for the sake of the art, and get ‘er DONE. I hope & pray that The Director hasn’t made THE DUMBEST decision ever, by not filming both movie-chapters together. Hopefully, this epic tale does great Domestically, Internationally, & Critically; and the real fans demand the sequel. This first volume was FANTASTIC. I’m only disappointed in not being able to see the sequel next October. Peter Jackson would NEVER…….
Peter Jackson's studio obviously had more faith in his projects. I think because of how this film is the studio wants to see audience reaction first. Which isn't fair because of the pandemic.
It wasn't really the director's - Denis Villeneuve's - fault, he *wanted* to make both parts of the Dune adaption back-to-back. It was Warner Brothers' fault for not having complete faith in the project ! Dune has done incredibly well in Europe, though, and is very likely to also do well in the U.S. and U.K. (don't know about China), so we're going to very likely see a part 2.
COVID has really taught us that yes, it could have been a Zoom meeting.
🙌
I will come back to this comment after I watch. I too grew up with the Lynch ver, read the book, watched the series..the Lynch ver is far from perfect and I didn’t love it but appreciated it’s interpretation and it did have character. In our time of CGI-everything, I’m hesitant to see whether it ends up accompanying a good story..or swallows it like a worm. Plus there’s only so much you can fit into 2-3hrs for a ridiculously long (and sometimes tedious) book.
In my opinion they definitely went for plot over effects
