Back when I paddled wirh a partner we used to do a 3/2/2 portage setup. We split the gear and canoe into three loads. At the start of a portage we leave one load behind and start walking together with the other two. At the halfway point one person drops the gear and returns to the start to retrieve while the other proceeds to the end, offloads, and then returns for the gear dropped at the halfway point (where both meet up, completing the last half together). In this way two people split three loads of gear while walking the total portage distance only twice...
That’s an interesting way of handling a portage. I’ve never seen somebody do it like that. On really big portages ( over 2000m) we set our stuff down halfway and go back for our second load. Although that shouldn’t be necessary for us anymore. Hopefully just a break in the middle. A few more tweaks to the process and single carries will be a breeze.
@@KhurshidsChannel Thanks! I’m glad you liked it! That’s exactly what I’m out here trying to do, inspire people. I’ll be sure to check your channel out!
They definitely were Sandhill Cranes. I’ve seen them plenty of times paddling through swamps but never a flock of them flying by a mountain top. It was super cool to see!
That brought us back to when we hiked Silver Peak a few years ago. Killarney looks so beautiful in the fall! Thanks for another great video.
Thanks! I love bringing back fond memories for people. I hope you had as much fun as we did when you hiked it!
Really great scenery and colours. I've always wanted to do silver peak, so this is making me more excited to get there one day. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks I’m glad you liked it! It was a beautiful place and the climb wasn’t bad at all you’re going to love it!
Thanks for the ride along.
No problem I hope you liked the ride!
