  • With only one portage this trip seemed like a cakewalk to us but sometimes it's nice to take a break from the gruelling trips we usually do. Although the portage was long, it was super flat and easy. Looking at that length on the map must have been enough to scare people away because we had the whole lake to ourselves!

You can also get into Cat Lake from Westshore Road (north east corner). There's a trail from the road, which is about 180m. Just to the east of the portage trail. That's how we get into Cat for day fishing.

We did notice that on the map but I don’t think it showed any parking. Is there overnight parking from that location?

Dogs enjoy canoes as much as people, No one takes their cats.

I mean I have heard of people taking their cats but never witnessed it lol. I think my dog likes the portages more than being in the canoe but she does like both. Do you take your dog on lots of trips?
