I’ve been paddling for about 4 years now, at 13, I’m running class IV. The Rio Claro is my dream river (ever since I started paddling). I’m currently not at the skills to run it, but someday, I WILL RUN THIS RIVERRR!!! Great video, Dane! :D
I have to agree with you about that being the most epic canyon and river in the world. There is a little bit of everything in there. I was glad to see that you included one of the little rock gardens in there too. Almost no one ever takes pictures of that. That part isn't hard, but it shows the diversity of that little river. I also always loved the video of Corkscrew. That has to be the most unique drop in the entire river. I can't think of any place that has something remotely like it. I noticed that they've put a wooden walkway in. That's pretty nice. I remember seeing pretty good sized snakes both going in and going out, and since I don't know which, if any in that part of the world are venomous, I was always a bit nervous going in there. It's the lap of luxury now. The only thing they need to do is add a kayak elevator to haul kayakers and their boats up for another lap, and lights so that you can run it 24 hours a day. Some things are too big an ask though, and we have to be grateful that the river even exists. I mean, it is a river, isn't it? It has the feel of a creek through most of it. Or maybe more like the world's best water park. Thanks Dane, for going there again, and making a video of it again. I'll never be able to kayak again, but seeing these places brings back really great memories. It puts me right back there. Great memories. Puts a smile on my face. I'm getting to the place where I can't even hold a cup anymore, but my memory's still good, and seeing something like this just makes my day. Thank you many more times over again.
I run this section of Rio Claro with my partner Jose Mari Miro in 1996. We did all rapids without portages ( because we didn’t see it before ). It is an awesome river No photos , no videos in this time,….just an slide with our two Prijon Fly kayaks in the horse to get to the top. What an experience !
Man, I really needed to see this today. Have had so much going on in my head and heart for a while, and just simply watching this video gave me a chance to really feel and breathe for a minute. 🙏 Stay stoked. 🙏
I am pretty certain the last video you posted of this river was one of the first I saw and didn't know who you were but thought it was pretty awesome you could do rivers like this and have been watching ever since. So cool and thanks for taking us all along on these amazing adventures. Keep it up.
Been in chile three weeks and loving it so much, get to paddle every day after school, might hit the rio paloma this weekend so stoked. Can’t wait to see more chile content. Here till December 13th so maybe I’ll see you out on the river! Cheers
Всё время пока смотрел видео не сходила улыбка с лица, как же это круто! Это самый драйвовый сплав который я видел на Ютубе) Хотел бы так же прокатится 👍
There would be a minimum of 2 guys carrying break down paddles in their boats. You lean right away when you start creek boating to have spare paddles. Werner full carbon fiber designs are the best you can get and worth every cent.
Incredible, a fantastic video. I was going to say that it would be great fun on an inflatable (airbed), we used them in The Glen Nevis River Raft Race in Scotland years ago, everything looked possible until 5.27, ( I would have filled my wet suit at that point, sometimes adrenalin is brown🤣) Again, a brilliant video.
Chile has been at the top of my bucket list specifically for this river and the Futa ever since I saw footage from Aniol and the Bombflow boys a decade ago. The Claro just looks so good!
Solid skills all around make this look like pure fun but so many of those rapids are dangerous as F! This is one of the funnest whitewater videos I have seen. The corkscrew rapid just made me start laughing with joy.
You can see the river before you walk up to the put in, so you can get an idea of the levels. But like many rivers in Chile there’s a certain time of year you can expect it to be in a good window. This river you don’t want to run with tons of water, but it can be run over a long period while it’s getting lower.
I was bed ridden due to illness over 4 years and started walking on Jan 5 of this year. I could barely go 2 houses over before out of breath. But I kept at it. I lost 65 pounds and I can walk 12 miles a day without even feeling it. I may have to take breaks and I walk slow plus use a pet stroller for a walker but I can do it. Take my situation to heart. You can get back in shape. One day at a time. I walk everyday no matter how crappy I feel. In fact I almost completely stopped driving. I now walk to the grocery store and carry it all home. You can do it. So I turn 50 in 6 days
You shouldn't hang around under waterfalls........there is some waterfalls near where i live and you could go behind the waterfall and just hang out and float on an inner tube. There was a family of four mom dad and two kids and the mom was behind the waterfall just about to float back through it and a good size chunk of log come down and hit her right on the back of her head neck area and killed her instantly......pretty sad ordeal and the fish and game officers and police and a fencing company put up a huge fence two days later blocking the trail and access to the part of river where you can get in and float in the plunge pool right near the waterfall so hopefully nobody else gets hurt or killed
Why aren’t these water soluble products , biodegradable too. Microplastics get in the water. Have you any idea how much fossil fuels were burned in creating this .

Hell yeah! I'm 32 and I've been paddling about a decade, but this river's been at the top of my bucket list since I started!
Keep at it lil man (or woman)!
If you keep kayaking you will become very good one day
Thank you Jah
Imagine the crazy rivers you’ll be paddling by the time you’re their age - places they haven’t even thought of yet.

Great to get to watch you running some of the rivers I ran back in the 80s and 90s. And some I never got to.
What a tremendous paddle and video. So beautiful. So graceful. Well done folks!
That was very kind of you, to swap paddles with the paddler who snapped the blade off of his paddle!
What a fun looking run!
Hey! That is the lovely Heidi Walsh right there
I am pretty certain the last video you posted of this river was one of the first I saw and didn't know who you were but thought it was pretty awesome you could do rivers like this and have been watching ever since. So cool and thanks for taking us all along on these amazing adventures. Keep it up.
Appreciate it!
"Gimme a Shaka Bro"
Chuck Norris paddled that once, but upstream not down.
Underated comment
Awesome Dane. When I have wet dreams, it’s that river every time. Sadly, I’ll likely never see it in person. So thanks for the ride along.
I’m a lifetime surfer 50+ years I did a bit of novice whitewater rafting in the 80’s . I totally get what you guys are doing . Good fun !
hey bro! Just a question out of interest, as a fellow surfer, in 50 years what’s your worst/scariest wipeout?
Been in chile three weeks and loving it so much, get to paddle every day after school, might hit the rio paloma this weekend so stoked. Can’t wait to see more chile content. Here till December 13th so maybe I’ll see you out on the river! Cheers

Oradaki balıklar bile sizin kadar su da hareket edemez. Helal olsun.
I paddled white water for many years, but never big drops like this. Just curious if the landings hurt the lower back.
They can, but if you land at the right angle they can be soft.
That looks insanely fun! Very cool of you to swap paddles when that guy broke his 🍻
Yeah-sir looks like a Great adventure- thanks!
That river is dreamy!
Soooooooo fun!!! Praise the Lord for being the best river sculptor!!! He wanted kayakers to be super happy!!
Awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like lots of fun😁
Love the part where you switched paddles with the other taking his broken one...true leadership...noice!
This river is unbelievable
Does it hurt your back when you land from a fall like that? It sure looks like it would
I think the water is like suspension if you land right
That was a very cool video and that looked like a lot of fun!
That looks god mode fun ! Haha yeah cool river !
Intoxicating just to watch.
I want to ride! What a beautiful place!
Beautiful scenery looks really fun
Great video. Is it hard to gage whether the flow is too much or too little four a safe ride?

Is this river cut through volcanic ash deposits? So cool.
i like how clear the water is!!!!
That looks like so much fun
Where is this canyon?
Bucketlist for decade now lol
This river looks like taken from a fantasy movie like Tomb Raider. Amazing!
It's scary how easy they make it look. Because I'm sitting here watching and thinking "I could do that". 😅
Astounding place!
That looks so fun:)
That looks amazing, what a section of river?!
Everything except siete tazas and (of course) la leona

This is what amusement parks aspire to, but fail miserably to achieve. Just looks like so much fun.

I'm 50 and fat. This river is not in my future. Fun to watch though.

Las siete tazas es fácil. Lo difícil es el velo de la novia. 😂
Dang I feel like I’m on the river with great views
I hate to say it but all I can think of watching this video is just imagine how much… gold is laying in the bottom of those pools.
