- Sometimes in Life, things don't go to plan. The place you've called home for decades is slowly taken from you because of someone else's greed. What started as one home for sale in your neighborhood led to relentless pressure on everyone to sell to a greedy developer. Slowly the homes around you are purchased and abandoned, causing issues for you and the remaining houses on the street. Scared of the people these abandoned homes are drawing, your neighbors sell out of fear to the developer, no longer willing to deal with the overgrown lawns, flooding homes, and vandals just next door. Only you remain now, with 3 abandoned homes as your neighbors and 5 more just down the street. The developer offers to buy your home once again, knowing you don't really have a choice. With your home value at an all-time low, you take their deal and move out. Today all 9 of these homes sit abandoned, waiting to be demolished. A new unaffordable high-rise will go in its place further adding to the housing crisis here in Ontario.

I always think about the families who called these homes. Very sad when they could still be a home.
from 1960s not in terrible shape. thank you for telling us why the homes were abandoned.
Built well.
So sad . Such nice homes. Sad that you get run out of your home.
Yes I agree sad
That 1st house had the weirdest layout I have ever seen. lol
Yes I agree, have never seen it before like that looks like they remolded it and changed it
My heart goes out to the people who lost their homes. The houses back in the 1960s,is near my age, I was born 1966😊
So weird, one house has old letters from the 50s and 60s and right next door is hand prints from 2022. What a strange little clump of houses.
Hi Noah from West Virginia USA 🇺🇲👍 i like watching your videos 👍😎
You could conceivably have more housing just not single family homes. Which is the goal. Rent, you will own nothing and be happy…
Yup
Great video, Noah thanks and stay safe!
Those bags you came across most likely were filled with vermiculite-asbestos insulation that came from the attic. Basing that on the age of the house and the fact that double bagging was used.
So sad so many homeless people and so many empty houses
Those houses are nicer than mine! What a shame.
Hi, Noah, from Aliso Viejo, Calif. USA. 👋🇺🇲 You did a super job of exploring these abandoned houses! 😀👍 It's surprising what people left behind when they moved: personal stuff going back to the 50s & 60s. In one house, you could see the children's paint handprints and written comments dating from 2022, at the most recent.
I might watch more of your videos in the near future. Well done!! 😸
Love your show
Congrats on 95.9 k ….almost there….
Great vid noah ! really interesting and the backstory is a bit sad. Take care of yourself, out there in all that cold weather. Thanks so much and God bless ❤ . From Nancy in ga usa 😊.
this is why there will be a day when if your not rich you wont be able to buy home
This was an awesome explore!!! You did great Noah! Saw Ethan also!! 🥰🥰🥰
Great one I love how you take your time with your videos some just go so fast anyway thanks for sharing hope your not snow in like we are in Nova Scotia we are getting 80cm just crazy take care stay safe ❤
Vary nice.
Wow that’s crazy
Sad they are going. Very strange layouts. Only 1 house had a pool in the back. Bummer you couldn't get into that one house. Great time Noah, thank you. Hi to Ethan. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sad😢
Great job, but open the refrigerator.😊😊😊
Interesting you said the laundry room and kitchen are mixed. My house was designed the same way, early 70s. My grandma used to chuckle and said a man made that design, not a housewife. Next two generations later, I saw a home with the washer and dryer next to the bathroom, in between the bedrooms. The mother had designed that so she’s closer to the source of peeled dirty clothes
Popcorn ceiling
The ceiling is called artex.
My old 50s Farmhouse came with a Wooden Accordion door at the foot of the stairs to the 2nd floor😊.
Those Narrow Bath rooms wouldnt fly with my claustrophobia 🫣
The carpets were really good and very deep in the 70s even in England😊
Same old story. Mow down affordable, well-built homes because they’re old, and build cheaply made cookie cutter condos no one can afford unless they’re a millionaire. Makes you sick.
Great exploration
I think it would help low income families if things were donated to Habitat For Humanity....
Do they really lowball the house owners left. Or do those who holdout get more!!??
Sup from Kentucky❤
Interesting 🇬🇧
It’s so sad that some of us will never be able to live in homes like these but the powers in charge just knock them down to put in rack and stack housing. The farms in the USA grow housing developments so we’re going thru the same things.
Praticamente so da uma limpeza e morar ai dentro
bathroom toilet is funny.
Could. Rent. The. House. Except. For the. Police. Decking. The. Place. Shame. On. Police. They. Have therer. Owen. Building
my gods these houses have the strangest layout they give baby Jesus cancer there that bad!!!
First!!!
Shut up!
Sup from Kentucky❤
proof: nothing lasts forever.
The first house, how dysfunctional, can a layout be.
Looks really cool!
The contraption of doom 😅😂
That was a great video! Your intro hit the nail on the head y friend!
Land assembly is very common in Vancouver. There are blocks of empty houses. These houses are sitting in large pieces of land. The taxes probably kept going up and became unaffordable. Also be careful. One home had bags of asbestos.
The good news it's not gonna stay that way forever. One day, a more charitable developer will restore this neighbourhood to its retro glory.

Those similar deadbolt locks are similar for a reason, installed by the developer. I'm sure they're keyed the same as well. The developer would only need one key to access all the houses.
Thanks for the tour Noah!
👍🤠
Notes:
7:51 Hey, why not if one has the space!
17:17 Copper thief flood damage.
35:59 Squatter stash? The guy seen walking about?
1:01:16 70's stove I'd say.
Great
The first two homes here in the United States we call split level homes.
57:05, someone walks by the window looking at you.
wow what a show of houses, crazy how some had been updated an other like stepping back in time, this area must be an end block for that many houses in one area to be demoed for a new condo/apartments who knows what to be built there in time. like the drown footage really shows the amount of space that this new development will take over.
Looks like a public housing complex
I watched a long time ago about police using these type of homes for training. To bad they repair them for low income families.
