This fight was all kinds of awesome! Did anyone else feel that sheer hatred that Omega Ridley had toward Samus before the fight began? No words, just a very, very angry space pirate. This was personal for Ridley.
The rivalry between Samus and Ridley has always been personal. Ridley killed Samus’s parents in cold blood, so she hates him as much as he hates her, if not more so.
Every encounter is personal between the two. Samus wants him dead for killing her parents, and he wants her dead for constantly ruining his plans. Even more so after becoming Meta/Omega Ridley, since she had killed him. Even his clone seems to retain his hate for her as well. The only encounter that wasn't personal was Ridley-X. That Ridley had no idea who Samus was. It only attacked her because it saw a metroid and panicked.
In every other Ridley theme, the time signature switches rapidly between 3/4, 5/4, and a little bit of 4/4. 3/4 represents his creepiness, the utter terror he causes. 5/4 represents his brutal, savage attacks as he claws at you. The little bit of 4/4 represents when he's repositioning, adapting, learning. He stays with the two more uncommon time signatures because that's the side we see the most often. Here though? Ridley's been completely taken over by the Phazon. He can't think straight. And so, the music NEVER CHANGES TIME SIGNATURE. It stays on the most common time signature, which ironically for Ridley, is a completely alien signature!
@trashlambo That was the clone of Ridley’s corpse that was infected by the X-Parasites in Fusion. The OG Ridley died for real back in Super. Until a corrupt group of ex-Galactic Federation scientists decided to clone him from samples of DNA that were somehow latched onto Samus' Power Suit while she was in quarantine, iirc

Besides, It'd be kinda weird if the real Ridley was the guardian for the Leviathan that was destroying the Space Pirate Homeworld.
@@ha9phtfpaehs It's more because Dark Samus and the Phazon have the ability to corrupt others minds. They don't follow Dark Samus beacuse they want to but because they are forced to. So no, Ridley and the Space Pirate didn't willingly choose to follow Dark Samus and her Phazon Invasion.

XD ...And I just had an image of Samus shooting a Masterball out of her arm cannon. I don't know whether to draw a picture of it or grab some brain bleach.
@finalEpsilon92 Don't be so sure, it shows him "exploding" but, while he still has a form, the camera changes to Samus. The explosion may have simply injured Ridley to the point that it knocked a crapload of phazon out of his system and he got away while the camera was honing in on Samus getting further corrupted. Supporting this is that the kill counter doesn't go up after the fight.
I think an awesome scene would've been like where Samus is about to head towards the Space Pirate planet where Samus meets with Admiral Dane and he explains how the planet came to be infected in the first place. Dark Samus hadn't yet converted the Space Pirate's main forces and so she sent the leviathan, the Pirates trying in vain to defend the planet with pirate shields and defense cannons having little effect. Dark Samus herself takes to the planet to finish converting the pirates and their leadership where she encounters and enraged Ridley who thinks its the real Samus. They fight but Dark Samus gets the better of him and becomes enslaved to the phazon and placed in charge of defending the leviathan seed. Later, once Samus reaches the boss room, Omega Ridley comes flying in but Dark Samus is riding on top of him using the phazon grapple lasso around his mouth as her personal steed before doing a spin jump off of him before he lands. Laughing menacingly before disappearing and the fight begins.
Hey guys I found this on a wiki and I was wondering if this was right: "Though he often appears in different forms, through scans found in the Metroid Prime sub-series and events portrayed in Metroid: Other M, it is confirmed that every incarnation of Ridley before both the latter game and Metroid Fusion is indeed the same being (save for the Ridley Robot), from the Metroid to Corruption and Super Metroid despite his multiple defeats, some of which involve his body exploding."
It appears that way. Exactly how is unexplained, although it's quite possible the explosion effect in game is just a way to avoid making a corpse sprite or model. (That's how I always reasoned it)
There was actually a prequel manga released at around the same time as Zero Mission that offered up some kind of explanation: that Ridley has an enhanced healing factor that allows him to survive normally-lethal conditions (like having his skin burned off) and is apparently activated by eating meat. The manga was never released outside of Japan, though, and some of it outright contradicts the games, but that part at least explains how he goes from cyborg in Prime to organic in Super, and why it takes AN EXPLODING PLANET to finally kill him. (And even in that case, I'm not completely convinced he didn't really survive.)
well I think part of it is that the space pirates, with the help of mother brain, essentially regrew ridley's biological body(it's actually not that farfetched, we are already starting to regrow working organs), the meta ridley is when the pirates simply didn't have their home base or mother brain, so they used machinery. sometime later, meta ridley was exposed to phazon, resulting in omega ridley. the ridley from other m was made from DNA found on samus' armor, and I think ridley x is the undead form of ridley's corpse after being killed by the metroid queen.
-continued- in Metroid Fusion he is captured by the Federation and stored in subzero imprisonment aboard the BSL space station where his body is copied by the X parasites and becomes Ridley X. now sometime between Super and Fusion he also returns but I'm not counting that as of now because.. well Other M. was not the best Metroid game and it... opened alot of continuity errors in characters and stories. that and I haven't played it because truthfully I'm scared to knowing what happened to Samus
Actually: Lilltle Birdy-Mystery Creature-Ridley-Meta Ridley (Mecha Ridley was the Meta Ridley prototype)-Omega Ridley-Ridley (Super Metroid)-(Remaining DNA from Samus' suit)-Lilltle Birdy-Mystery Creature-Clone Ridley-Neo Ridley
(In addition to my previous comment). So when the scientists on the Bottle Ship go on to make bioweapons out of cloned Metroids made by the Baby's DNA, they also, unknowingly, made a clone of Ridley. When the Ridley clone was created, it turned up as the Little Birdie, and the Federation researchers, unaware that this was Ridley, simply made him a pet and ignored him. As the game went on, he eventually shed his skin to turn back to his adult form
Lol i knew that i was gonna fight again becuase when i was on Pirates homeplanet i saw Pirates had pictures of Ridly on there monitors inside there lab and in that moment i felt Scary lol
@finalEpsilon92 Well in MP3, they don't show him physically exploding. I got all of that information from the Metroid Wiki, and what it says for sure is that the Phazon may have simply caused Ridley's old skin to grow over his armor, but Nintendo wouldn't let you see that, and Ridley (unseen as I said before) escaped before Samus destroyed the Leviathan Seed. That's what happened before his first death in Super Metroid, and of course the clone is in Other M and Fusion.
Ridley from Zero Mission, Prime 1 and 3, Super Metroid are all the same Ridley. According to Other M, Ridley did not die until Super Metroid. This means that the Ridley in Other M and Fusion are clones.
@finalEpsilon92 Uh, no. The reason his physical appearance changed from the cybernetic enhancements to normal skin may be an effect of the Phazon in Ridley's body. In between MP3 and Super Metroid, the Phazon must have somehow regrown his original skin over his enhancements. The Ridley in Metroid: Other M is the clone, because Ridley exploded back in Super Metroid, and particles of his DNA ended up on Samus's suit, along with the DNA of the baby Metroid.
If some of you actually read up, Ridley has regenerative capabilities. It takes time, but unless you completely destroy him, he won't die. Metroid-Super metroid, and ever game chronologically between, it is the same Ridley. You kill him in Super Metroid, they clone him in Other M, and the clone remains get sent to the research facility for Metroid Fusion, where the X-parasite absorbs his form and becomes him. As of this moment, maybe not in the future, Ridley is dead chronologically. AFAIK
Something else that supports the idea of Super Metroid Ridley being a clone is: There is absolutely nothing physically wrong with that Ridley. No battle scars, no metal plates, no explosion wounds. It's just...Ridley. Then, in Other M, we all know he is a clone. He is then turned to stone by the Queen Metroid and that same stone statue gets cloned by the X, creating the Ridley Parasite X.
That would be a good explanation, however this would contradict the official statement that all Ridleys fought before and in Super Metroid are one and the same being. And the Space Pirates were glad that the Levithan crushed into their homeworld, since it offers an endless supply of Phazon, So it would make sence, since Phazon was the basecomponent of an geneticaly altered army, as well as an energy source
(Final part of my long comment). Later on, the Ridley clone is found dying due to the Metroid Queen draining the life from his body. Sometime later, the Federation takes Ridley's remains to the BSL to be studied, and they have him frozen to keep him from degrading or reviving. Eventually, an X-Parasite gets ahold of Ridley's DNA and turns itself into Neo Ridley. Now idk whether the Ridley clone is truly dead, or if he returns again in the next Metroid. Only time will tell Ridley's fate for sure.

The music has sections that remind you there's phazon present here
There are a lot of ridleys... what next, Chuck Ridley?
The hardest boss that I have ever faced...
ON NORMAL!
Ridley from Zero Mission, Prime 1 and 3, Super Metroid are all the same Ridley. According to Other M, Ridley did not die until Super Metroid. This means that the Ridley in Other M and Fusion are clones.
The Federation cloned him in Other M (brilliant idea) and the corpse was copied by the X Parasites in Fusion.
He isn't figuring anything out. He is expressing an opinion.
The phrase 'no shit sherlock' is used when someone explains something everyone knows.
"EAT EGGNOG, SAMUS!"
?
I'm well aware of that, as is probably everyone who's looked into Kraid, and eh, I guess so... It's still not the same though.
1: I know that, but since Hunters has no relevance in the Metroid timeline, i tend to ignore it
2: Nope, its not, check out the timeline on Wikitroid
He is then turned to stone by the Queen Metroid and that same stone statue gets cloned by the X, creating the Ridley Parasite X.
the only thing i hear during this fight is the constant pewpewpewpew of my nova beam....
It will be followed by Ridlychu and his trainer Dark samus.
The dislikes are Samus and the other hunters
Omega Ridley is Meta Ridley infected with Phazon
With the power of Phazon.
