This is the best way to transfer your data to a new SD card. It may not be the quickest but it the safest way to transfer all your save data without any problems. Great video, thank you!
Apologies for the late reply, the only option I can suggest is to transfer the game data to the console memory from the sd card and hope that includes the save data as well (settings, data management, move data between console/micro sd card) I’ve been on Google but cannot find a definitive answer as to whether that will work for the save data as well as the game data but it’s all I can think of
You’re probably right, I stick to my iPad because I’m really useless with computers but I’m genuinely tempted with something like a steam deck, I do want to buy something to try out emulation at some point 😀👍🏻

Though I got a newer computer I haven't tried out yet. But I'm wanting to hack my Switch to emulate games on it as I hate doing it on the computer. But I may instead get a Steamdeck as emulate there and use it to play my Steam games. I'll probably wait and see if the Switch 2 gets a must have game when it launches, If not, I'll probably get a Steamdeck OLED. Or I'll see what sales happen on black friday.
@@colt5189 my only concerns with a steam deck are for myself are; will I be able to use it as I am genuinely useless with computers, I can see myself selling it after a few months because it’s too difficult for me to work so not fun for me. Also as is it’s been out a year or two I don’t know how long before they launch a more powerful “steam deck 2” and the current one is out of date. I might be better off buying something like an Anbernic for £60 or £70 and asking a friend to use their computer to put Roms on it for me
I don’t have a NSO subscription to back up my save data and I also don’t really have enough storage on my internal storage to transfer my sd card data to. So what do I do then?
Honestly as far as I know the only way to back up your saves is with a NSO subscription. If you have never had one there’s usually a 7 day free trial so you could sign up for that, use it to transfer your saves and then just make sure you cancel it before the 7 days ends or they will automatically charge you. If you’re not eligible for the free trial then the only option is to sign up for it, just do it for 1 month I think it cost around £4, again just make sure you cancel it before the month is up so you don’t get automatically charged for a second month if you don’t want to keep it. Hope this helps a little bit 👍🏻
Hey someone quick reply me I’m getting a modded switch lite with 128gb sd card and I just realised 128gb isn’t sufficient it can hardly store 6-7 games so I’ve decided to get at least a 256 sd soon but I’m confused because if I just directly insert the 256 new sd card will it work? Or do I just have to copy files from the 128 card to the new for it to run the jailbreak system? Pls help asap.
Hi, I wanted to reply but I haven’t tried anything with a modded switch. I’ve had a look on the internet and from what I can tell as long as the modded switch is not using a custom operating system you would need to insert the new 256sd into the switch and format it, then transfer the game files from the 128gb to the new one using a computer. BUT I must emphasise I haven’t tried this I’ve only ever re-downloaded games from the e shop and save data from the save data cloud so I can’t guarantee this will work
@@BigJimGaming. thanks for the effort made to reply, I just found out I have to download and install some things into the new sd card as well as copy the files from the old sd card for it to work.
I figured it out. The iCloud saves game progress but the sd card saves the photos and videos. So my photos and videos are still there, they are just on my old micro sd card :)

Unfortunately without Switch online you cannot transfer over your saved data wirelessly, but you can still re-download your games from the eshop. I don’t know if you can transfer your saves over using a computer I’ve never tried
It should work the same as any other game, if you have Nintendo online make sure the saves are uploaded to the save data cloud before swapping memory cards, then after swapping memory cards re-download the game or put the cartridge in depending if you own it physically or digitally and download the saved data from the cloud to your new memory card
Yes it did for me, if for some reason it doesn’t for you then it’s easy to re-download DLC you’ve previously bought wirelessly, just go to the e shop, re-download games and select the DLC you want to download to your console, it’s nice and quick to do 😀👍🏻

Everyone really should have a computer. Even if it's a $50 laptop that can at least run Windows 10.

Or just use you smartphone I did it and it works perfectly
This hasn’t done it to all the videos I’ve had on the switch. It’s not finished downloading them all but all my clips aren’t there.
I’m sorry but I don’t know why that has happened, I only downloaded games and save data for the games I didn’t try to download video clips

What if you don’t have Nintendo switch online?
