Great Post and an absolutely FANTASTIC JOB editing and compiling this vid! You've documented the GREATNESS of the most dominant player to EVER play Football
It’s amazing to watch his highlights. He was a beast. He wasn’t only the greatest linebacker of all time, he’s the greatest defensive player of all time.
Ditto: This was a great presentation. Some of the clips of his celebrating or the aftermath of the fumble cdve run a bit longer, but awesome job. Thank you! He reminds me of an openside flanker in rugby!
Though I don't think all, or possibly even any of the forces on the punts are forced fumbles, technically speaking. If he hadn't fully secured the ball yet then it is a muffed punt, and there sadly isn't a statistic for "forced muff"
John Smith....you deserve a commendation for demonstrating to the world the greatness of this very special football player with your film editing skills. Thank you sir.
Taylor was tripped up, falling on his face when Cunningham broke the pocket and he somehow still got to him 30 yards down field. Blazing speed son lol 4:35
Thanks for posting this John. I'm a Giants fan and an LT fan and I didn't know he had this many forced fumbles. Watching the pass rush highlights and run defense highlights really puts this HOFer's career into perspective. Easily the GOAT! Makes you wonder how many more he would've had if he stayed clean and avoided suspension time.
All you Derrick Thomas fans take note. Look at Taylor on his pass rushes. He ran THROUGH blockers....not around them....THROUGH them. This man was in a class by himself.
man, this is insane! lol it's like watching a clinic on how to destroy an offense. man, i wish i was old enough to see these actual games! lt is amazing and LT was as well.
It was epic! I watched him get drafted and I watched every game of every season! Unstoppable force! The little girly boys playing today can’t even compare! He never worked out either! Bill parcells and then bill Billichek were his Defensive coordinators.
To me, LT was by far the most dominating defensive man ever. To argue that is like arguing that the Beatles were lousy or the sky's not blue. No answer needed, just believe your eyes.
Unfortunately, I believe he was a 'one and only' type player. I hope they DO get another. It can only help. But yes, I keep looking at different sets of clips of LT and if I watch all of them it will probably take me 14 seasons worth of games. The dude was BAD. Like Jim Brown was at running back.
Samuel Mikuletic-Hicks I agree, I dont think we'll ever see a player that has the complete set of skills that he did. They may have bits and pieces but never the full deal. He was an animal.
Y'know, I will have to agree with you on that response comment, too. I saw Ronnie Lott annihilate nearly EVERYONE he hit, except for Bo Jackson. Sean Taylor was like the second coming. Even as a loyal fan of my High School where I played football at that level and the GIANTS, I thought the hall of fame was his destination. He had every last possible positive characteristic you wanted for a safety, and he had it in spades. Like a Royal Flush of Spades. He was smart, big, fast, could hit, could catch, could change up the defensive play after surveying the opostition. Dude was like the James Brown of defensive backs: SUPER BAD!
I'll never forget the Niner playoff game when all Craig had to do was run the ball once to get to the SB and all I could say was we need a fumble now, and LT delivered.
Look, LT is the greatest defensive player ever, period. Nevertheless, Craig did not still have it in his arms--it was bouncing off Craig's ass when LT snagged it. I give LT credit for being in the thick of things and securing the loose ball, but Eric Howard deserves full credit for making the play.
All current linebacker coaches should have their people watch this It is how the text book should be written I’m so glad I got to see him play Wish he was a Packer though
He definitely had more than 33 forced fumbles.the video on them icludes playoffs which those 33 do not and some he really didnt force but from what i see he had about 50 ff.the thing is,what sets lt apart,he almost never missed a tackle because he didnt knock the ball loose.alot of the pretenders do!!!
LT was the greatest defensive player ever! Who else has a video with every forced fumble, and its 15 minutes long? He lined up as a gunner on a punt, was the first player to the ball, and caused a fumble? Wtf?? I wish we could see another LT, but I don't think it's ever gonna happen.
15mins of forced fumbles 15mins of QB sacks 15mins of run defense 15mins of pass defense 15mins of goal line defense No other player can have a highlight reel like that. He is without question the greatest football player ever
Great video! If you count LTs sacks, fumbles forced and fumbles recovered, and interceptions, he had 208 disruptive plays on defense, or 16 a year...or one a game. That's not even counting the TFLs he must have had...
Brings back memories of a great NYG run. The man changed the way offenses are drawn up now. Seeing Belichick on the sidelines is nostalgic. While safety is important the game changed and men like LT, Lester Hayes and the big boppers would be flagged every play in today's football. Awesome vid.
Me either! LT was and there hasn't been anything like him since. A one time thing. Glad I got to see him on TV when he played. Talk about frightening... For the other team! I just waited for him to make one of his plays, then celebrated!
jaydimepc79 That's because there wasn't one or ever will be again. Future HOFamers Carson & Van Pelt just shook their heads in disbelief watching Taylor practice (in rookie camp) as they marveled at his incredible talent, (size speed & strength) all rolled into one. Brad was quoted as saying, " it's not right that the football God's gave one man all that amazing talent, not one man"!!
Numbers 13 & 14 were from the same game. I remember watching that game at the time. They look so similar to one another (one was at the Giant 6 yard line, the other Giant 11), except for how the plays ended.
Today's football is a joke.. they call targeting, roughing the passer or, some B.S. L.T. put fear into Q.B.'S. Fantastic work on this.. much respect... 😀
John Smith OKAY, OKAY,LT was Badass!!!! I remember the day NFL Network did the 100 greatest players 3.Jim Brown 2.LT 1.Jerry Rice .Hey,we can argue that! But no doubt the greatest defensive player,LT!!!
+miguelisms There's no shame in that, though, haha. LT is hands down the most dominant defensive player to ever step on the field. It's a tie between him and Jim Brown for most dominant.
WOW i looked at this stats on on NFL.com and on Pro football stats and it only listed 3 Forced fumbles and 1 interception and I don't get it when he really had 11 interceptions and like 55 Forced fumbles if he was playing by today's rules he would have had 65 forced fumbles or so, also the first few years of his career they did not record sacks or he would have been top 5 all time easy. Not to mention they probably shorted him at least 10 fumble recovers also. Someone at Nfl headquarters needs to go back review all the tapes and fix all the inconsistencies because its BS. Also, I think they should go back and review all the games from the superbowl era on to get certain stats right. I would still like to know how many sacks someone like Deacon Jones had And how m,any forced fumbles players like Jack Tatum and Dick Butkus had even if the old timers stats would not be official, I still think it would bring a lot of clarity and put into perspective just how great some of the old timers were even if the stats are not official.
Finally, a compilation that shows the true disruptive power of LT. Bravo!
Most Definitely... today's punk ass football everything would be called roughing the Q.B. or, targeting..
Old school football..
😀
Everybody knew that 33 fumbles caused was suspicious. You set the record straight. TY....

Greatest football player ever offense or defense

Wow you did one heckuva job researching this. I forgot they used him as a gunner on punt coverage too. What a player.

LT.
The best ever.
At any position.
Amem to that brother.
John Smith....you deserve a commendation for demonstrating to the world the greatness of this very special football player with your film editing skills.
Thank you sir.
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching
LT on punt coverage is a frightening thought for a return man >
Taylor was tripped up, falling on his face when Cunningham broke the pocket and he somehow still got to him 30 yards down field. Blazing speed son lol 4:35
INCREDIBLE play I agree. 1985-1986 LT was the most dominant defensive player of all time and it isnt particularly close.
Chills listening to John Madden and Pat Summerall
Yessss that's who I grew up on.
62T-bird Man He was a nut, and wouldn't have had it any other way.
Agreed. It was part of the man's personality.
Yeah like Maradonna, much better personality than Messi but a complete nut and people loved him for it! Genius are flawed.
All you Derrick Thomas fans take note. Look at Taylor on his pass rushes. He ran THROUGH blockers....not around them....THROUGH them. This man was in a class by himself.
Greatest football player is ever seen

This is an amazing compilation. It reminds me not only of LT, but of a time when they Giants had a pass rush and could really play defense.
I know he was a great player. After I watch this I remember just how great a player he was.
In my Jr high days. I watched LT and I couldn't be stopped !!!
Any chance that this video can be used to officially update his stats?
To me, LT was by far the most dominating defensive man ever. To argue that is like arguing that the Beatles were lousy or the sky's not blue. No answer needed, just believe your eyes.
man he was so fast and so strong. The Giants definitely need another LT. Insane how quick he got into the backfields and caused chaos.
Samuel Mikuletic-Hicks Sean Taylor at safety was the last we had of this caliber.
MaccoroniTony agreed. Nobody has hit that hard since he, Lott and Sean Taylor
They were fumbles at the time and lt was LT who developed the punch out or fumble smash LT best defender ever
I'll never forget the Niner playoff game when all Craig had to do was run the ball once to get to the SB and all I could say was we need a fumble now, and LT delivered.
Best game I've ever watched...awesome defensive battle
Was watching in London. It was the middle of the night and I woke up the neighbourhood.
Erik Howard forced the fumble, LT recovered it.
John Madden during the post game said Erik Howard made one of the greatest plays he had ever seen in his life.
All current linebacker coaches should have their people watch this
It is how the text book should be written
I’m so glad I got to see him play
Wish he was a Packer though
Alot of these are more than just fumbles....the ball goes popping out like a lottery ball in the big jug
You have to remember all those stats were unofficial at that time except sacks, fumble recoveries and interceptions
He definitely had more than 33 forced fumbles.the video on them icludes playoffs which those 33 do not and some he really didnt force but from what i see he had about 50 ff.the thing is,what sets lt apart,he almost never missed a tackle because he didnt knock the ball loose.alot of the pretenders do!!!
goes to show how dominant LT was, they put him as a gunner on punt coverage. I'd like to see a linebacker do that today
Great video. LT is the goat.. man was incredible
4:40 LT just comes out of nowhere like a leopard in the jungle. Best defensive player ever, it's not even close.
Many of these guys he was abusing were Hall of Famers in their own right. The Greatest Football Player Ever, Period!
What Michael Jordan highlights are to basketball these are the equivalent in football. The greatest player of all time 🐐
definitely the best defensive player in the history of the game. just a power house of a man.

15mins of run defense
15mins of pass defense
15mins of goal line defense

Great work, my man.
Nobody developed the chop weapon like that until he came along. Mimicking him ever since
great vid awesome job! thx
Lawrence Taylor came in and WHAP, THE BALL CAME LOOSE!!. What else is new?
Loved it! Well done.
you must have put a lot of time into this... thanks
Now THIS is football
Great video! If you count LTs sacks, fumbles forced and fumbles recovered, and interceptions, he had 208 disruptive plays on defense, or 16 a year...or one a game. That's not even counting the TFLs he must have had...
This dude was so bad that the team had him as a gunner on special teams and he still was making big time plays. Totally awesome 😎
Incredible. Absolutely the Greatest of all time. Hands down.
The good days. Taylor causing destruction and chaos on the field, with John Maddens commentary. Thanks guys for some great years!
Lawrence Taylor approved
Long story short, he had 66 forced fumbles, that means he was twice the beast NFL says he was. Holy fucking shit.
Brings back memories of a great NYG run. The man changed the way offenses are drawn up now. Seeing Belichick on the sidelines is nostalgic. While safety is important the game changed and men like LT, Lester Hayes and the big boppers would be flagged every play in today's football. Awesome vid.
+Danster372 Nope, LT would adjust. He was a form tackler. Von Miller's Superbowl was as if he channeled LT for one game.
Best LB that ever played that position
LT re- invented the position of outside Linebacker.
Greatest NFL player of ALL TIME !!!
Never seen a monster like this

Hes THE GOAT
I love how one of my related videos is about a mafia hitman. That's poetic.
I think there were three number 56 jerseys on the field.
Numbers 13 & 14 were from the same game. I remember watching that game at the time. They look so similar to one another (one was at the Giant 6 yard line, the other Giant 11), except for how the plays ended.
Thank you for this because my boys were trying to tell me that he only had 3 FFs 😴
LT was the greatest football player that ever was, a GOD
I would think Jim Brown is the GOAT, but I agree LT was a GOD, simply the greatest defender ever to play the game.
If i saw him charging at me, id run the other way
he'd still catch you haha
when is the last time u seen a LB as a gunner....?...thts how fast LT was ...thats insane....
In most of these, the ball goes popping out. I swear, LT's something else.
Today's football is a joke.. they call targeting, roughing the passer or, some B.S. L.T. put fear into Q.B.'S. Fantastic work on this.. much respect... 😀
love Troy Aikman highlights .. we can remember this whenever he opens his mouth.
Shame the NFL didn't start counting forced fumbles until the year he retired.
it's the same as NBA not counting blocks until Wilt retired
Wow, he was a "gunner" on the punting team as well? That's how you know he had some serious speed. Gunners are usually very fast.
I wish they'd update his true stat. I mean he is a HOF player give him his due credit. Same with anyone else
This show you that when LT hits you, that player feels it
Between LT & 80's Bears those 2 teams (Dome Patrol) are the reason why Joe Montana is the GOAT
If you were a QB in the NFC East you had to be having nightmares.....especially after Theismann 😱
That ended Joe : however he was not bitter about it.
How many sacks did Taylor give up by going for the strip instead of the easy sack ? He put winning the game ahead of his personal statistics .
Oh my God....him on punt team.....at 4:15......that was just ugly.....a punt returner's worst nightmare......
+tone 22 If the boy can run that like, why not?
But.....LT was a once in a lifetime player. He literally could do anything on the football field.
56 forced fumbles. That’s so perfect 👌🏻
And they made a movie about Vince Papali.
Fantastic job
16. Eric Dickerson?, LT IS AWESOME!
Staubach's "OH WOW" describes LTs whole career.
Where did you get these tapes?? Also do you have full games??
It's a credit to the NFL that even in the early 80s every single game was live on TV. So that you can record this stuff.
John Smith OKAY, OKAY,LT was Badass!!!! I remember the day NFL Network did the 100 greatest players 3.Jim Brown 2.LT 1.Jerry Rice .Hey,we can argue that! But no doubt the greatest defensive player,LT!!!
LT had good hands. Some of these are strips or before impact. Also, that turf was basically like playing on concrete....OUCH!!!
How the heck does Taylor make the hit at the other end @ 4:20? The man scary fast
Why does the Hall of Fame only credit Taylor with 33 when this video shows 56 or so?
The stat was kind of a new thing at the time, naturally they're not going to keep track of it until later. Not sure when it became official.
The Tomahawk
Cam Newton couldn't hold LT's jockstrap. He'd piss his pants if played against him.
+miguelisms There's no shame in that, though, haha. LT is hands down the most dominant defensive player to ever step on the field. It's a tie between him and Jim Brown for most dominant.
To be fair, any QB would.
iamhungey12345 But especially whiny Newton
Brady Brees Rivers all of them
even gunning on punts!
John smith, could you repost the video with the pursuit plays by lawrence taylor.please
Giants could have won 3 Super Bowls if it wasn’t for the strike
He is good at forcing them fumbles
56....Exactly the same as his jersey number!!!
You mind if I share this on my tiktok page???
sure
@@johnsmith3091 thanks I will #JohnSmithonRUclips
LT is cold as Hell yo!!!!

Strip-6 at 2:59..man he’s a beast
beast mode
for how many years?
Who else but LT with that famous move
Must have been licking his chops when he seen Cunningham run out of the pocket. My personal favorites.
I think when he started doing the strip it wasn't ruled a sack till years later
How many SACKS were not credited to LT due to fumbles he caused stripping the ball with that right hand?
SUPERMAN
Jitter fields. Feeling jittery
My favorite defensive player next to Reggie white and Bruce smith
So far you've got 532.5 sacks--plus those 9.5 they didn't count in LTs rookie season! I'd HATE to pass against your team! Or run...
That was Doug pederson as the dolphins QB
