I bought the 20 rt and it s awesome,i don t like built in efects on any amp that is one of the reasons why i think about the crush 20 rt the tone is perfect ,for practice it s a good choice in the dirty sound it s very loud impossible to use at full volume in an apartment!i move from marshall-fender to orange amps
Just picked up a white 50th Anniversary edition, no reverb or tuner and I really like mine! On this video, I vastly dig the new version to the old one.
My biggest amp is that one since I just started out nearly a year ago. I really like the sound of Orange amps, and so far, I think the 50th Anniversary edition is beautiful and simple. It allows a lot of versatility for pedals, especially for me as a beginner. (Dude, I even forget what middle does sometimes lol)
The diference is massive!!.....are you sure they were recorded the same ? I mean.... that's a BIG diference. I've got the old one i picked up for pennies and it sounds fab with a delay pedal. PS, Mick Ronson used a tiny practice amp on gene genie , for example , and there's nothing wrong with that. Cheers.
No one mentioned the Four Year Strong riffs? My college roommate played on the newer one, and it sounded much better than whatever ancient line 6 spyder he had, so it had that going for it!
The LDX reminds me of when I first started panting guitar and just plugged in and didn’t really care. I just wanted to play hard and fast. It’s nostalgic and definitely pulls at the heart strings, but the new one is just more refined and dialed in. It feels like it fills up sound properly and dynamically. It’s not having to compensate, it’s ready to go without too much tweaking.
there about the same honestly, the 20RT has slightly more bass, but the old one has that classic tone. the new one seems to handle higher gain over the older one, clean tones are pretty even from what i can tell. i do like the FX switch, you don't have that on the 20RT. that's all i have to say, there both budget amps.
Do you think the crush 20 would sound good with a rp-1000 multi effects pedal? I play different styles about every song in my sets, and can change to the tone I need instantly with the RP-1000. I do a one man band so a small amp mic`d would be all I would need. And the Crush 20 is the size and price I would want! Thank you!
If you are buying brand new it will almost certainly be the new one. To know for sure, look at the second half of the video and compare the controls. The old one has loads of writing in the bottom left and a different control layout 👍
Es lo mismo que quiero sqber, pero tengo entendido que si suena igual que el rt, la unica diferencia es que el rt trae reverb y afinador y 20 normal no

This is going to be my first amp and my only one for quite a long time.
If you want Orange tone, the only way to get it is to get an Orange. The Blackstar ID Core stuff is excellent if you want more features and variety. Neither better just different. If you need the FX etc. go Blackstar. If you want the Orange tone go Crush 👍
@@TobysGuitarGearDemos sorry toby, i didn't quite understand the difference btw the old and new model. In this comparison by old, you mean the one with the many effects on it, right? The thing is, i'm looking for a second hand crush 20. I found a 2015 or 2016 model,i think. It doesn't have reverb-tuner or non of the effects. Will it sound like the 20RT model or the 20LDX model?
Hey no worries. It should sound like the new one. Orange currently make both the Crush 20RT and Crush 20. They are both the new ones. The 20RT has a built in tuner and reverb the 20 does not but is still the new one. If you want to be 100% sure it’s not an old 20LDX then the old LDX has a mix knob and fx knob. All the new ones do not have these controls. Hope that makes sense 👍
@@TobysGuitarGearDemos alright, got it now. Have another question, though. I've seen the 20RT video of yours. You tried the amp with delay pedal. Its interesting. The RT is actually probably a better amp than the LDX, but I just ordered an LDX cheap on Reverb (assuming it arrives ...y'all know how Reverb is) and for me its the effects that sold me on the old one.

Great post! didn't expect such a big difference, the new one kills it.
New Crush is more defined, better bass sensitivity.
Thanks for doing the headphone out, a huge difference between old and new.
Just bought the new 20 rt last week, superb, love it.
Orange is the new Black
Good one! Hahahahah
They both definitely cater to difference niches. The new one is a great all round but the old one seems great for punk and grunge kind of music
Appreciate the Queens of the stone age riff haha
The new one sounds so much better. In my opinion.
Great video man. You’re killing it lately with all these Orange videos 👍🏻
Thank you mate, it really does help. More Orange on the way 👍
Thank you. Incredibles demonstrations.
GOD bless you!!
the headphone out rock of the LDX can cut through an old block of cheese like butter. Insane difference.

friend I would like to know if you notice the difference between 20rt and the normal 20 is my first amplifier greetings from Colombia
They would sound great in unison.
I think the 20ldx is fizzier and thinner sounding than the plain Crush 20 which you can still get, which just sounds like a 20rt without the reverb 👍
New Crush sounds brighter. 🎸😀👍

Orange Crush 20 LDX, the best by far, ready to small gigs, parties, etc.
Is that "the Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" starting at 2:40?
Definitelly Crush 20 LDX, using the knobs I can get any sound, further we have the "FX Mode programs".
20LDX the best on the market.

Get one of both, plug in your Triungulo Lab Chorus Ensemble pedal for that sweet, sweet stereo.

Yes identical apart from reverb and tuner 👍
