So glad you’re still liking Saga! It’s supposed to come back from its hiatus this year! I’m pretty excited to see what Brian K. Vaughan does next with the story!
I LOVED The Prince and the Dressmaker!! Other graphic novels I enjoyed were the Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman and Bloom by Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau. I read a couple more this year but they were all just okay, I guess.
Ones that were my the top graphic novels this year were- The Handmaid's Tale - graphic novel based on Margaret Atwood's novel by by Renée Nault (Adapter, Artist). Storm by Tim Minchin Waves by AJ Dungo - beautiful story mainly set in Hawaii about loss and surfing as a soulful pursuit. Aya - (first in a series) by Marguerite Abouet about an Africa without the ... war and famine, an Africa that endures despite everything because, as we say back home, life goes on."
I recently discovered that Locke & Key has been turned into a Netflix’s original series, which is now coming out really soon, and boyyy what an amazing comic book series! Also quite graphic, and definitely violent, but super interesting concept and story. Highly recommend. It’s also only 6 books if I remember well, so quick to read through (so quick I read it three times).
I also need to continue Saga, it's so good. I have the last trade for that Ms. Marvel run that you just started and need to finish that too. Other recent graphic novels I read are Spider-Man Life Story (such a great twist on Spider-Man), finished the last Invincible compendium (probably the best super-hero comic ever ;) ), read the first 4 volyms of Paper Girl (loved it), Read all 3 Umbrella Academy books (liked the first one but the other two was not so good), Skyward (really cool idea and love to see where it goes). And right now am I "enjoying" the first compendium of The Walking Dead.
Next time I go buy books I'm getting the Prince and The Dressmaker. So many good things being said about it. last year I really enjoyed reading Sheets by Brenna Thummler
+Purple Candy I only received it the day before, so hadn’t had a chance to read it yet. I’d suggest having a look at the Unbound page for more info! And I’ll make sure to talk about it in a future video.
Try Snow, glass, apples by Neil Gaiman and Colleen Doran! It’s dark, creepy and the illustrations are just beyond words! Like stained glass and art nouveau and vintage fairytale pictures combined.
Oh I have to check out some of these. I haven't even heard about The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya before wathing your video. And I MUST have it! The style is gorgeous and this hardcover... Can you tell me how many pages it has? Yours is very thick and I found different number of pages on some websites. I'm not sure if there are more versions of this book.
Pumpkin Heads is full colour, so is Saga and I'm pretty sure Teen Titans is too (but it's been over 3 years and I don't own these anymore, so it's worth double checking!)
Something being dark and scary isn’t the same as the level of the writing being for younger readers! All depends on their taste, as there’s lots of horror and thrillers for kids. I don’t mean 5 year olds obviously, but something just below YA would be fine in my opinion.
I love graphic novels - thanks for sharing! The last one in particular looks fantastic.
Graphic Novels can be so great! I especially enjoy those by Tillie Walden. On a Sunbeam and Spinning are just amazing!
+grinselamm I’ve reserved On a Sunbeam and one of her other ones from the library. So excited to try them!
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman is a really cute graphic novel series!

You should read Tillie Walden's stuff if you haven't already 😊 her newest book is really lovely
I am going to read The Prince and the Dressmaker today!
Enjoy!
I read Heartstopper vol. 2 and I couldn't stop smiling throughout the book. It's so cute and wholesome it hurts!
Tillie Walden's books are really lovely. Currently reading Lara Dean Keeps Breaking up with Me and its so stunning!
I have both coming from the library! Really looking forward to it. :)

Nice list. Thanks a lot! :)
I was looking for a little more insight on The Carpet Merchant
+Purple Candy I only received it the day before, so hadn’t had a chance to read it yet. I’d suggest having a look at the Unbound page for more info! And I’ll make sure to talk about it in a future video.
I think you’d enjoy Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me 👍
Great recommendation, I'll add it to the list.
I would love to see you read The Katurran Odyssey by David Wieger. It's more of a children's book but it has stayed my favorite book for 15+ years.
Try Snow, glass, apples by Neil Gaiman and Colleen Doran! It’s dark, creepy and the illustrations are just beyond words! Like stained glass and art nouveau and vintage fairytale pictures combined.

Kid gloves by Lucy Knisley
I just got myself that Neal Gaiman graphic novel that is a snow-white retelling... Forgot the name - something with apple...
At the moment I’m reading be prepared at school and it is amazing I love it 🥰
I can't wait to read pumpkin heads
Another great graphic novel is This was our pact by Ryan Andrews. The art style is really cute and the friendship is way too wholesome.
Has anyone read any Dog Man books? My ten year old son is into them and he actually dressed as Dog Man at school during book week this year.
Ford Prefect the 5 year old I look after is obsessed with them. He also loves Tintin and we now just introduced him to Astérix.
Can you do a review on magic seven
Nice! A good year for reading, right? We'll have more time in 2020
I love graphic Novels books.
Not sure what’s going on with your eyebrows but I’m obsessed with how good they look 😍
Ha thanks! Someone at a makeup counter did them slightly differently recently, so trying to figure out how replicate it myself.
Very cool
Great job
How did I not know Emily Carroll had a new graphic novel out?!!!?
+Jennifer Mathis I only found out because of my favourite graphic novel shop’s ’new releases’ shelf!
I use Goodreads :)
Are they all in full color? There were a few that you didn’t show inside of the book.

You are so cute. Thanks for your recommendations! I'll check some of them out :)

"works well for younger readers"
Besti are we not gonna reflect on the part where mary tries to kill her bully and herself😃🤚

Man I wish I knew what it was about instead of how it smells, gosh
+Isaiah Powers Sorry you didn’t like the video Isaiah, better luck next time!
