Would be great to see your opinion on a ryobi one+ scarifier that has just hit the Aussie market. In most people's proce range range no need to hire a bluebird.
Thanks Ben , I’ve learnt from this vid , my mower was floating as well , and wasn’t sure what to do , so I off to scarify this weekend on my tiff tuff , thanks again
Funny you mention Buffalo. I’m looking to renovate my lawn either this or next season. And I want to put a green in but I’m wondering what type of grass I should use.
I do this 3 times a year. Spring time, go deep for a nice cleaning. Early summer, go light just to open up and get any blades wanting to grow flat. Then fall, go deep again before over seeding. Do you think going cross grain contributes to the wobble? I really notice it when cutting at a 90 cross grain.
Another awesome vid. My scaryfier unit for my rover it on its way and will receive it tomorrow. Can’t wait to give it a go too. Was waiting for a delivery from allett for 4 months or so.
Sorry to hear about the mic input on the camera. Creative way to get around it, well done! How much material did you end up getting out? You may have said that when I was putting my dishes in the sink.
Thanks man, I've sent it away for repairs and have a mate that has an A7III as well that I'm going to borrow for the next week. Have an A7SIII hopefully coming in next week!! Would have been close to 30 catchers. I really should have mentioned that!
Hi I Always love watching you and your Lawn PS Been watching you for about a year now also i left a comment about your cut on your Thumb sum time a ago
When are you going to install the tee off area in your back yard for that 130 yd Par 3? weird to start with the 8th hole, but I'd love to see how you set that up! /s
Looking at a battery reel mower with the same attachments, 1500sq/m of Kikuyu. What is the range on the one you are using? Currently still using an old G65 single clutch.
Why is it every person has a different version of what a scarify is, or what a scarifier is. Vertimower, scarifier, groomer, in the lawn game are words that are so interchangable it gets very confusing. The reel used here I thought was a dethather, a scarifier having the cutting blades, less spaced than a vertimomer.
Coming back 👌🏽 still pretty brown though because we have dropped in temps which is a bummer. Won’t be doing any chewing fescue content in the near future sorry mate
Hey man, about to receive my Edwin 2.1 and was looking at getting a scarifier reel but I've heard a verticutter reel would be better.. Would you rather a SB verticutter or this?
Scalping mows so low that it will suck out the dead organic material in the top layer of your lawn. It won't help with below ground thatch, only above ground.
So you pay over two grand (god knows what that is in Aussie dollars) for a cassette mower and when you change the elements you have to use a screwdriver and reconnect the belt? As an engineer I'm appalled at that. do you get a free set of feeler gauges with it?
Have you considered composting your clippings and thatch? I just started a couple months back and hope to have abunch of compost to use for flower beds next spring.
00:06:51 "cursing to myself cause I didnt charge it enough!" 😂. 00:07:40 why did I choose battery? WHY? 🤣 00:10:09 I think it might still float around a smidge.... Why dont you admit it, your striping game needs more work 😁👍😂 00:11:31 guess I'll charge it up again 😂 Sorry mate.. just having a laugh. Looks good and so much better for it #nicestripesmate
Because Buffalo can respond very badly if you go too heavy with scarifying. If you do it really lightly it will be fine. Should have mentioned that sorry.
Hey Ben ive got burnt spots from applying fertiliser how do i fix this problem im about to commit suicide hellllpppppp please. Also you lawn is amazing mate i dream about all the time 🤣🤣
@@LawnTips lol. The parts i got from all mower spares were order in parts so took about that. But still good. In one case a part took awhile to come in and the crew at AMS upgraded me to express shipping at no extra cost.
Great job on the edit! Way better than just a voice over :) kudos
Yeah, I thought so too. Quality content
You are the best RUclips person ever
Looking good, Ben! I'm looking forward to a TifTuf update.
Man, the Rover still runs like a beast. Glad you pulled it out instead of the Protea

Great video, I think you should do a live-stream of you cutting your lawn sometime. That would be awesome!
Thanks mate, I have actually done that before!
Beautiful yard! Good work
Maybe you could try out a verti cutter.not just a dethatcher.looking good though.starting get heavy dews down there yet.?or frosts.
Great vid! Which do you like better for the Swardman, gas or battery?
Dig the vids! Solid little nod to another quality lawn channel with that Tee 👍🏻
Great job. Yard looks amazing. Can’t wait until I get my Swardman.
Great video - quick question how long does the swardman run for. My lawn is about 1000sq metres. Would I scarify the whole lot on one charge? Thanksn
Nice Lawn Rebel shirt! Hello from Virginia!
That lawn looks fine. Are you bored? Have a beer.
Yes im pretty sure my thatching rake from bunnings is cyclone

Beautiful lawn Ben
Can you use this type of mower on sir Walter, my lawn has been in for 5 years and never dethatched
Have you got plans to review a allett stirling
Hi I Always love watching you and your Lawn PS Been watching you for about a year now also i left a comment about your cut on your Thumb sum time a ago
Thanks for watching mate! Yeah I cut my finger a while ago. Still isn’t 100% which is a bummer
@@LawnTips I broke my ankle 15 weeks ago and that is also a bummer been self-employed
Keep up the good work on your channel I love it
"Dont use this on buffalo", me scrolling through the comments to see if Brenton has made a comment on that haha.
Haha he will turn up soon enough
hahaha, im the same. Was thinking of getting a Dethatching rake for my buffalo. I heard good thing about the Groundskeeper II Rake
So would hiring a scarifier eliminate the need for a full-on ‘to the dirt’ scalping?
When are you going to install the tee off area in your back yard for that 130 yd Par 3? weird to start with the 8th hole, but I'd love to see how you set that up! /s
Going to install it out the front! That's from the golf course I was working on that closed down at the start of the year haha

That stuff is great for your garden man. Dont chuck it out! Put it on the garden as mulch. Plants will love it.

Probs an SB one man.
@@LawnTips thanks man, planning to convert one of my SBs. Any attachments you'd recommend for the swardman then?
What kinda boots are you wearing?
Please help us understand how scalping can reduce thatch? What the science behind it?
Scalping mows so low that it will suck out the dead organic material in the top layer of your lawn. It won't help with below ground thatch, only above ground.
Do you get paid more buy youtube if we like the video? (Serious question)
Nah, just helps promote the vid more to the algorithm. Means more people get to see it I guess. Same with comments
Ok cheers for the info, lawn looks ok to
Not directly but the knock on effects can, promotes the vid meaning a wider reach meaning more views and more earnings (hopefully!)
Is Buffalo grass the same as centipede?

You'd like the new Allett Stirling then 😁

Where do you buy all the equipment
Got this all from all mower spares
@@LawnTips they are a great buisness. Helped me out allot.
Parts cheap
Shipping expensive
😂
Mate, you need to get a Mow Master to stop those wobbles. Heavy and give a true cut
The toro is pretty heavy 😉 it still wobbles around. Doesn’t now though after the dethatch 🤙🏼 gave it a test this arvo
Have you considered composting your clippings and thatch? I just started a couple months back and hope to have abunch of compost to use for flower beds next spring.
I'm not a fan of the look in the gardens. I've heard it's great though!
Lawns lookin like an EPL football field.
Is this 100% perennial rye?
Yep 👍🏽
Would that make into good mulch?
Yeah sure would
Yep my tomatos love the rye clippings mixed with the noculate complete that the rotary picks up 😄
It works well to make compost in a compost bin if done right
Man you need a spare battery so ones always on charge
00:06:51 "cursing to myself cause I didnt charge it enough!" 😂.

Hey bro why did you mention not to do with buff? Cheers
Because Buffalo can respond very badly if you go too heavy with scarifying. If you do it really lightly it will be fine. Should have mentioned that sorry.
they have a aerator and are trying to call it a verticutter..strange
FORTHFFHHFF !!!
What unit of measure is a smidge? 😉
The best kind
A bit less than a tweak
Does anyone know what grass this is?
Perennial Ryegrass 👍🏽
are you going to give it a dusting bro !
In Feb a will 👍🏽 not really keen on doing 400m2 until then haha

Best thing to do mate is keep the water up to it! Using some liquid kelp weekly as well will help the roots repair and the lawn reshoot.
Get that toro out, not those off brand mowers.LOL
Toro’s clutch cable snapped
@@LawnTips get a new one from all mower spares then 😂😝😜

Battery powered lawnmowers, its a no from me.
They work well infact. Good for tiny lawns
