Beyond the beauty of New Zealands landscapes, his journey led him to meet inspiring people from different backgrounds who shared their personal experiences and learnings. I want to comment but I'm a bit speechless. Dylan, that was beyond beautiful. The words and ideas spoken at the end of the film left me in tears. So beautifully crafted form the visuals to the music to the concept ...it was stunning. Thank you
I am really happy to hear your feedback it means a lot - Thank you very much :)
bro stop glazing him
Beautiful piece of filmmaking and storytelling.
Thank you :)
Thank you so much for the beautiful movie. It's so super, and this soundtrack is also fantastic. I'm so moved deeply, and love to be there sometime.
Thank you very much! The soundtrack have been made by the talented Alice-Anne Brassac who composed the music especially for the movie 😊
Fantastic interviews specially the lady with the sunglasses, i like to hear very much !
Glad you enjoy that interview! Thanks so much :)
Wow, just wow! Probably the best hiking film I've ever seen. So smooth, epic editing and oh, the scenery. You captured it so well. Thanks for creating this beautiful piece of art. The road walking part always held me back from doing the TA, but your documentary changed my opinion. Thanks! Oh, and may I ask an annoying gear question :D I just got a new camera, I'm a total newbie and are wondering if a 35mm lens could work for a thru hike? I need to carry dog gear so I want to keep my camera equipment as light as possible.
Hi Steffi, on many sections of TA dogs are not allowed.
Thank you so much for your feedback it means a lot - I would personnaly take a 35mm because it allows you to be more flexible ! If you are not sure take a 28mm I had no problem with that lens :)
Thanks! Well done , so impressed for the interviews.... inspiring! Touch!
Glad you enjoyed the interviews and found it inspiring ! Thank you so much :)
What a fantastic video. I've had a couple of friends do the TA, and I've hiked along a couple of sections, but always wondered what the "big picture" was like. I got a glimpse from this wonderful collection of sights and interviews - was almost in tears by the end. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for your feedback, I really appreciate :)
Thanks for these amazing images and testimonies. It’s very inspiring 🙏 Maybe one day, I’ll leave everything to go to the other side of the world.
I wish you to live something similar. It is a wonderful human experience ! Thank you so much for your feedback :)
Splendide!
What an incredible journey and record - great job Dylan!
Thank you so much for your feedback :)
This is an exceptional film Dylan, well done! I loved every second of it. The visuals were so beautiful but it was the people's interviews that got me above everything else...perfect. I can't wait to do this myself some day now
Thank you really much for your feedback it means a lot - I hope you will find the time to walk Te Araroa :)
This is a stunningly made video. Well done mate. On my bucket list.
Thanks so much Lawrence :)
Force!
Un grand merci Saku :)
👏

Glad it has inspired you ! Thank youu :)
Do it
Mate... you did an incredible job. It brought me tears. Reminded me the beautiful simple days on trail yet full of tiny treasures and pleasures that wouldn't be noticed in the normal life. I really appreciate your work which would have taken you tremendous amount of efforts over two years. Thanks Dylan!! Keep walking your own life!!
Thank you for your lovely feedback it means a lot ! Keep your eyes wide-open :)
Really enjoyable video , makes me miss home our beautiful Aotearoa 😁
What a beautiful country - Thank you :)
Yup I live in North Queensland, tropical rainforest, Daintree, the Reef, waterfalls etc etc are all amazing but I miss Aotearoa too. You little beauty!
Thank you for capturing my country in such a beautiful way. Inspiring.
You're living in a lovely country! Thank you :)
This is absolutely beautiful. I had goosebumps from start to finish; the way you present the people on your journey makes it feel like I know them deeply from the very first second I hear them. You have brought together extraordinary voices and I can only hope to one day experience the trail for myself. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
I'm happy to hear that you enjoy the film. Thank you very much :)
It is the people we meet that enrich our lives. I am so grateful that you were able to tell the story of these 4 amazing people. Nathan Van Helden, Francois Peguillet, Marion Abba, and Wieke Krol.
A human experience ! Thank you for your feedback :)
I’ve watched a lot of TA videos over the last few weeks. This was by far and away the nicest, most emotional, put together pieces. The females were amazing. You picked perfect people to talk to. Super inspiring. Thankyou ❤
I'm really happy to hear that you enjoy the film, thanks for your kind words 🙏🏻
Terrific cinematography! My son emigrates from Ireland 🇮🇪 to New Zealand 🇳🇿 this Wednesday so I’m looking forward to visiting and hiking it ! Completed the PCT in 2019 this looks equally awesome 👏 Thanks for sharing 😊
Congrats to have completed the PCT :)

Amazing Job Dylan, I'm from the UK, and it has inspired to one day do this trail :) keep up the inspiring work !
Let's go ⛰
This made me feel so excited. I went to New Zealand, backpacking for three months, in 2002. I fell in love with the country and promised myself that I would return. At the end of next month, 20 years later, I am going to continue the love affair on Te Araroa. Can't wait!
Such a wonderful story! Wish you all the best for this adventure ahead :)
Cool vid, Thanks for sharing Dylan,I enjoyed watching.😁
Thanks :)
Absolutely amazing video! The shot through the waterfall at 16:57s was jaw-dropping! It brought back so many memories, and it was all summed up nicely at the end by the Marion who I had the pleasure of meeting on trail.
Glad you enjoyed this shot aha ! I hope it brought you back some amazing memories, thanks so much :)
An incredible journey with beautiful frames and lovely stories. Really miss NZ when watching this and yes, you are correct, we could not tell about it, it is all about experience, and experience in NZ nature is totally beyond the human language! Thank you so much!
Marian lovely explained what we cannot explain ! Thank you so much for your feedback :)
Beautiful film! Planning my hike for 2022, couldn't be more inspired by this, thank you
That's wonderful ! I wish you the best for this incredible adventure ahead of you! Thank youu

I'm happy to hear that the film has inspired you to do the TA - Best of luck for this adventure ahead :)
I'm also in uni and was thinking the same lmao, next year is my final year. Are you going to be heading south or north?
This is so wonderful...done by a real filmmaker. It was perfect, artistically, with great cinematography. A great collection of thoughts from hikers, interspersed with beautiful images. Thank you for sharing this!!
Thank you so much for your feedback it means a lot :)
Aotearoa nz has gods signature on this land it’s only on a loan to the kiwis of the land of the long white cloud it’s up to the kiwis to keep his land natural an pure do not spoil his creation
Such a wonderful film, I hiked it this summer and it changed me for the better. Thank you for capturing the beauty of Aotearoa on film!
Thank you very much for your feedback :)
Inspirational on all accounts. Splendid cinematography. Would you share your camera setup? (Drone, Hand held, Lenses, Action cam ...)
Thanks so much for your feedback :)
I invite you to visit my website - I made an article about how I filmed this adventure : www.daynmoron.com/media/how-i-filmed-an-adventure-film-documentary-
I ABSOLUTLY want to do this, because i think this may be the experience of a lifetime. The second reason, is because I'm a huge fan of The Lord Of The Rings, and i know that the movies were shot in New Zealand. To live Frodo's journey would be something amazing!!!
One of the greatest way to discover New Zealand :)
Asking what nicest in Aotearoa....
Its never to saying. ....
All its great different and great.
Even this walking shows a % of what its nice!
Gisborne, coromandel, taranaki, tasman, invercargill, dunedin, bay of island, what thousand another places.... its always all over so!
U never see all greatness of a land or continent.
Also people's are unbelievable
The best way to answer this question is to experience it :)
Indeed nice film of New Zealand, although seems mostly drone footage so it’s a misrepresentation of a WALKING trail. It’s also illegal to use a drone in any national park in my country without permission from DOC, which I’ll wager you didn’t have, and which wouldn’t be granted to a RUclips-er trying to increase his following. It’s disrespectful and arrogant to ignore a country’s rules - unfortunately a lot of foreign visitors are doing this now, and they’re ruining the wilderness experience for other hikers.
So all you sheep oo-ing and aaahh-ing over this video, think about that in future.
Mostly drone footage? Sorry but there are approximately 10 drone clips all allowed (check the flight map online) and out of National Park + additional video footage taken with a camera from a plane (scenic flight). Please before making any conclusion do some research or ask for additional information. I have a big respect for your country and wouldn't have done illegal filming without permission. Thank you.
Uploaded at my 31th birthday ... should this be a sign to me? :D Awesome adventure and work!
You know what you have to do now aha ! Thank you so much :)
This is amazing! I’ve been considering doing it in sections but I would love to do the whole thing at once!
I have met many "Section Hikers" walking the trail - When you do not have 4-5 months ahead of you it is a great way to complete the TA :)

Thank you so much, it means a lot :)

This is the sort of film that changes people's lives and it's a huge credit to you. Watching this with my wife just now, she was musing how she could get 4 months off her work! You've got us thinking seriously mate! We've done Tongariro (our son is the youngest to do it at age 4) and other amazing walks and this would be incredible. Big thanks and cheers from Sydney - Dave

Beautiful film about an incredible trail. I completed the Southland section early this year but had to pull out due to injury, I can’t wait to continue to complete it in sections. It’s such an experience to hike in places most kiwis don’t even know about
Oh sorry to hear that! I hope you will get back on the trail really soon and enjoy the full experience :)
Very inspiring video about the TA. It was a pleasure to watch. Thank you and the world that people like you exist to show the beauty of nature and what the outdoors have to offer. Great job

Superbly put together. Well done. The ladies words were very inspiring. I love how young she was in spirit.
Thank you so much Mark :)
haaaa, fantastique!
Amazing and very inspiring..
Thank you :)
So so good!
Thanks :)

Superbe film Dylan ! Ca me rappelle tellement de souvenirs.
