Oh please. We as black people don't always have to support someone because they're black. Wrong is wrong and he should face the consequences of his actions. I would be more empathetic if he came and admitted it and apologized, but he is still lying about it.

@@Hake663 - Black people are acquitted on self-defense grounds *all the time!* On *the very same day* as the Rittenhouse verdict was announced, a Black man in Florida who shot at the cops was acquitted on self-defense grounds. Another Black man, in Minnesota, who shot at cops during the George Floyd protests/riots was also recently acquitted on self-defense grounds. The same happened with Breonna Taylor's boyfriend....And those are just three prominent recent examples off the top of my head.

I am a black man and do not condone such actions. Wrong is wrong, if he had apologized i could have forgiven and cut him some slack. He needs to face the consequences of such a diabolical act. The gravity of this act is undeniable. It could have pitted people against each other. Very disappointed in him.

You can’t do the time? Don’t do the crime. This isn’t about race, but disgrace. He gets whatever he deserves. Whether drugs were involved is irrelevant, because he was not on drugs when he went to the courts still claiming his innocence and denying the facts. He’s soberly sticking to his lies all this time later and not taking responsibility for his dumb actions. Why even bring up the drugs to Loni? To create an excuse?! He should also be counting his blessings these are the only charges he is going to have to answer for.
This wasn't his only hoax he also sent a fake hate package to the studio addressed to him which contained white powder obviously intended to look like anthrax days before the fake assault that's a federal offence.
The studio had to be shut down and HAZMAT guys sent in and the FBI were called in to investigate.
Clearly he's very lucky he has a lot of high profile political friends so that investigation got quietly shelved.

I don’t get why this is so complicated. He committed a crime and he’s not sorry for it and still to this day won’t admit to it despite the bounty of evidence. Using the excuse of drug use from that evening does not explain why he’s maintaining the lie for years and besides what he did took lots of time and planning - it wasn't an erratic spontaneous event from drug use.
I think what’s missing here is he said they find drugs together on ocssison not that the drugs influenced his decision making leading up to that night or the day of. He was asked about his relationship with the man and that’s how drugs came up. Drugs was never used as a reason but to tie the relationship

What bothers me most about this is that no one is talking about the fact that two innocent black men almost went to jail because of Jussie’s lies. The Chicago PD had arrested the brothers who Jussie paid to attack him and were about to charge them with a hate crime until the brothers told their public defender what really happened. Thankfully the brothers had a public defender that is a true advocate for her clients. That’s where the outrage toward Jussie needs to be directed. Those young men’s lives could have been ruined.
@Anne Day they were innocent of a hate crime which is what they would have been charged with. there’s a difference between being charged as an accessory to disorderly conduct and being charged with a hate crime. Jussie was prepared to let those men serve a long jail sentence over a lie. That’s despicable.

Jussie was going to let two men go to jail for something they all participated in rather than just tell the truth. I understand the difference in disciplinary weight for hate crimes. Jussie lied PERIOD. You can tell he lied based off of the video . Nobody that was attacked in a horrific way, remains calm enough to talk to police minutes later. He was looking out for himself. I don’t feel bad for him and I’m a black women. Wrong is wrong. Yeah. Kyle was definitely a bad example ( even though I feel he was wrong for even being there openly armed) it was within lawful boundaries and he was found not guilty. I just remember when this first came out, at the time Loni and Amanda has the worst opinions concerning the Jussie case. Loni always stuck by Jussie's hoax of a case, even though there was never evidence of that it actually happened. (I remember Amanda also called it "noble"!) I just wish that people in media waited until more news broke out about it, especially Loni. I'm glad they acknowledged it though.
