I seem to have a problem when ending the installation, as Kali will remain on a a black screen with a white underscore flashing (seemingly to allow typing, however I couldn't type). I have waited around 10 minutes for it to go to the log-in page however it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated Edit: I have figured out that I unchecked the installation of GRUB, therefore, I am asking now how to install grub afterwards. Edit 2: Sorry to bother you folks! @@avikbanerjee9818 I would also recommend giving around 100GB space to your Virtual Hard Drive instead of just 8GB. You will not be able to install many packages with just 8GB.

Installing Kali - easy. Making the guest additions work - impossible. That's Linux for ya. EDIT: If you're reading this - don't install the standalone Kali version directly into VirtalBox, use the provided .ova file which is lower in the same page. That file works with the guest additions every time and is much easier to install.
guys if you're having trouble with the first command then just try and change the arangments of the letters it worked for me after i tried multiply times. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

After I get to graphical install an error pops up saying "This kernel requires x86-64 CPU,but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
Go into ur actual computer settings.."BIOS SETUP" mine said "INTEL VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY" and enable it. I was having an issue where the 64 bit wasn't even an option. And that fixed the issue.

I had the same problem and I firstly allocated 10GB of memory, which wasn't enough. You need to rise the memory in order to work. (It worked for me)

Tried to install 6 times since 2 days ...watched around 41 tutorials..(watched watch history!!lol!) Nothing is working out for me....sometimes it gets stuck on grub bootloader...sometimes on network mirror....and two times installation was completed....but kali didn't get started....showed nothing but black screen for about 1 hour.......fuc**ng frustrating......

instead of iso download OVA file it is easy way of install, but steps are different

I would say just redo everything and make sure you did everything correctly. if it doesn’t let you do anything try checking ur bios sometimes they disable virtual operating system

Bro, make a video on portable kali Linux using pendrive as storage device of kali LIVE Os. Neither We can used it in any laptop without flashing the existing OS nor we hv to download any virtual machine . it have many other features too. After I get to graphical install an error pops up saying "This kernel requires x86-64 CPU,but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
In case debian 64 bit doesn't appear in settings then you have to enable CPU virtualization in BIOS
Enable your cpu virtualization ig windows 10 go to settings and select option recovery
Enable virtualization in bios
Go into ur actual computer settings.."BIOS SETUP" mine said "INTEL VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY" and enable it. I was having an issue where the 64 bit wasn't even an option. And that fixed the issue.
Shit , sorry. Didn't fix the issue. Debian 64 bit didn't fix it either
