Very glad you enjoyed the video. It wasn't our first time to Juneau Alaska but it was our first time in a helicopter there and flying over Mendenhall Glacier and having the walkabout on a beautiful clear day was truly amazing. It gives you an idea how massive the glacier really is. Thanks for watching and coming along on our journey!
Thank you for the question. We did this tour at the end of April and it was the very beginning of their season. We actually had a beautiful day and it wasn't as cold as it could have been. Regardless they gave us waterproof overalls and gloves. We just didn't need as many under layers so we left them in the lockers that were provided. And YES, I think this would be an awesome thing for kids ages 12-14 to experience! They seat you according to weight. We had 4 adults across the back row so I would imagine if you are a family of 4 they would be able to seat you all together. Please let us know if you book and how you liked the experience. We've done a few helicopter tours and this was one of our favorites. Would this be your first helicopter tour?
We agree 100%, it’s on a bucket list! It's expensive and our opinion is it’s a once in a lifetime experience you should do if in Alaska. We know it’s not for everyone, but wow! It was freaking amazing! We hope the next time you guys are in Alaska you can pull it off. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
That’s a great question because I actually asked our guide about hiking the glacier from the base. He said it can be done but you really need to know what you are doing. It's not a simple hike, it requires special outerwear and various types of equipment and it’s definitely a tent situation. If you are thinking about it I would highly recommend you do it with someone who has done it. You definitely need to be extremely agile and mobile. He said it could be extremely dangerous at times. I would say a no for a novice doing on their own. If you are talking about taking the chopper and landing on the Glacier you need to be mobile and being a novice is no problem. They outfit you with the proper outerwear and spiked shoe strap ons for balance. The ice is soft in places and can be a drop. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate. That's FUNNY! We heard the same thing, unfortunately my gray isn't slowing down. We might need to go back and get another gulp of glacier water :) Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.

Wow! This is beautiful. Which month was this trip? Would you recommend taking kids (ages 12-14) on this glacier tour? Thanks for sharing

Bucket list! 🚁 🏔️
I wanted to do a helicopter tour last year in Alaska but my husband and kid did not … I hope to do it on a future cruise!

Awesome video!
How difficult is the walking on the glacier? Is this for avid hikers only or could a novice handle it?

Can I ask how did you record? I have a go pro and my phone. What accessories/equipment worked best? Thank you!!!! This really helped my decision.
