CC deepVee boats are incredible and man I want one bad but they are not family friendly. The front is simply not comfortable looking and someone needs to find a way to engineer a modular/removable front sundeck seating area that is actually comfortable for moms and kids. And by removable I don't mean bean bags. Think about how much goes into the console - the hard top vs. fabric, lights, etc. The cost. How hard is it to put that kind of thought into the front seating area? And lastly, some of us are land locked and hope to retire one day near the coast. With the high cost of boats and long time ownership we need an option that can easily go from inland to offshore.
Have you ever looked into a " bay boat " ? Many new companies are offering cushion options for their forward casting deck. Sportsman just released the Masters 267 and it has optional forward seating cushions and pop up backrest. There are also ways to prop up a forward bow sun shade on most bay boats. I currently own a Sportsman 247 and fish inshore to offshore. Fish comfortably in 2 feet of water and can push it probably another half of foot or so shallower. I also run 30 miles offshore in 2-3 ft seas with moderate times between. Ive took some water over the front of the boat one time when we got caught out and the self bailing decks did their job. Never even phased the boat while underway.
