While this was far from Matt Ryan's best game at Boston College, many experts say it's what made the Atlanta Falcons draft him 3rd overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. Boston College was ranked #2 and traveled to #8 Virginia Tech on a rain Thursday night in 2007. In the 4th quarter, the Eagles trailed the Hokies 10-0, but would score 14 points in the last 3 minutes of the game thanks to 2 touchdown passes thrown by Matt Ryan. You could also say this is the game he earned the game "Matty Ice."

@Slevin Ryan had a passer rating of 158.3 out of 159(max) ,which is highest in super bowl history. Falcons lost that game because of coaching staffs.
Offense sells tickets, defense wins games. And obviously, our defense crumbled to pieces at the face of that statement. Even the Eagles eventual Superbowl win came off their one sack on Brady. They pulled together and got the job done when they were needed most. One side is not gonna win it all for you. Matt Ryan is simply a victim in all of this, as well as everyone else on that offense. Because everyone just sits there and blames Matt for a whole game because he makes a mistake on one play, but no one seems to be asking how the hell a defense gives up 25 points in a bit over a quarter, in the first place. And besides, name another quarterback in this league who had THE TOM FREAKIN' BRADY 28-3 IN A DAMN SUPERBOWL?!!!!!! I think I rest my case.
@Slevin BRO, THE DEFENSE GAVE UP TWENTY-FIVE POINTS IN A QUARTER!!!!! I'm not making excuses, I'm stating facts. Our defense went to complete garbage, and against Bill Belichick, that was what put the nail in our coffin. Not Matt Ryan. In that Superbowl, that defense messed up far more times to cost us the game than Matt Ryan, and seven freaking points obviously does not exonerate that. To be honest, the only reason why I give Matt Ryan any blame at all is because he didn't cuss Dan Quinn and that defense out when he clearly had the chance to.

For the record, I'm from the Philly area and I actually really like Matt Ryan. He seems like a hell of a nice guy and he's certainly an extremely talented Quarterback. But still, there's an irony here that I couldn't help point out.
Just the start of an NFL career full of 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives. Already top 10 all time in those categories and could easily finish top 5 or higher.
