Kevin is a highly underrated singer and musician. I think because he makes it look so easy. A brilliant talent!
Underrated? awe Hell no! This band was so phenomenally successful and popular and sold so many records it boggles the mind! REO never wanted to be "in the public eye" like the rest loony-bin and always pestered by the medias, they got away from the drugs and the high-life and that made them uninteresting to much of the public tabloids. They were free to think clearly and write phenomenal music and so they did, and their bank accounts affirm that dedication! REO is among one of the top 10 bands of all time!
I wish people would stop using the word 'under-rated' when they obviously weren't around when these artists were at their peak. The fan-base and record sales were proof that they were highly valued.
@@kennyh5083 Underrated by the modern Generation, who have no idea of the legacy of Singers like Kevin have had on music in general.
Don't mistake the word underrated to mean unsuccessful, or untalented. Learn to extrapolate in written language.

Kevin.....that is so cool! I have a video of you we made back in say 1983 at the University of Toledo. It's a short interview as you are going to the stage and your first song, Riding the Storm Out. Wanted to put it on RUclips but the powers that be restricted it for copyright issues. I remember you being so kind to us back then and as this video here shows...your kindness is still intact. How beautiful!

@@catsincredulous9998 that's no disrespect that is honest. His singing (not the students) was brutal. Maybe just a bad day? A bad take? A bad mic? Interference only in the area where his head space (mouth) was?
Kevin is the epitome of professional musicianship... and outpouring of heart and soul. What a gift. I have been listening to him sing for 45 years.

Saw Kevin and his REO pals in Ft. Wayne, IN on 7/31/2021. Just a few months short of 70, he has an amazing amount of energy. The old boy still rocks!!

REO was the pioneer of rock ballad. Back then slow rock songs were unheard of and they made it work with “keep on loving you” after that every other rock band followed as well

Kevin been listening to you since the beginning and REO just gets better with age being an ole Illinois boy i kind of partial any ways but i must your second generation is agreat testament that your music is going to live on for a long time one of the best concerts i ever attended was high infidelity 1981 roberts stadium in Evansville Indiana thak for the great music and memories.
Are you deaf or just a huge fanboy? This is one of the worst things ive ever heard. I actually a fan of reo back in the day but this is just embarrassing from his voice to his dyed hair and just creepy look.
@@jimmyhoffa310 I was thinking the same thing. Maybe his ears went years ago from being to close to the speakers. And Kevin didn't come into R.E.O. until about 3 or 4 years after the band was created.

This what God gave us all: Its called gift of Love in every song, I have Followed Reo Speedwagon my high school days, still am after 1983. Kind grow on you though years. I ran into Kevin in the Gulfview Square Mall in Port Richey Florida right after I got out of the Army in 1986. Super cool guy, he was buying REO CDs for gifts for Christmas as it was that time of year. Turns out his wife was from Hudson Florida the town just North of Port Richey. He gave me his autograph and said he didn't get recognized that often buy I must have been a real fan. I was and still am!

can't remember the exact year, but i saw him in concert back in their party days. When he had long black hair and Richrath had long curly hair. but the song that set me on my way to a fan was "Don't let Him Go" and "Golden Country" , the latter my favorite all time tune of theirs, written by Gary Richrath.
