- There's a sinister undertone to the influx of Planet Zoo racing videos over the last couple of years and the reason why I'm done with Planet Zoo animal racing.

Your races were some of the best and most entertaining PZ videos I've ever watched, even to this day I sometimes go back and rewatch them!
You can really see the effort that went into the builds, the recording and the voiceover, and I really hope that one day we'll be able to see some new races again!

I looked it up after recording the video, it's really a thing! In early 2021 (so fits my timeline well) channels targeted at young children switched from Elsa/Spiderman/Peppa Pig to video games that kids enjoy (namely Among Us and Minecraft but I guess Planet Zoo fits) with spam videos in the same vein because they can't get striked in the same way as using copyrighted children's characters can....makes me mad, but what can you do?
Bonkers. Dont worry. You left a legacy with your races.

That "Fake IDs??" scene in the Ostrich race still lives rent-free in the back of my mind.

Thanks for watching! This is what upsets me about it all. It was a genuine idea from my side that has been hijacked by channels targeting children. I'm not able to create these awesome ideas for my own viewers any more because it's getting swarmed by the spam channels
@@PlasticSwans I absolutely understand. I couldn't live with myself if I kept it up and unintentionally supported channels that target little kids. Totally get it.
That really sucks about the algorithm and low-quality repeaters. I never thought about that, and it's very discouraging to consider if anyone wanted to start a channel themselves. It's already competitive enough before that happens. :(
But I guess on the bright side, you could say we're all birds of a feather flocking together to your channel, because we see the quality, whimsy, and depth you put into your videos. I know I personally have found your videos insightful in helping me think through Planet Zoo and how I'd develop a park on a level that competes and thinks differently from the other high ranking 'tubers out there, so thank you!
Starting out, it's tough! I played and uploaded Planet Coaster videos for a year and had about 60 subs at that point. I feel like my humour shines through the videos, and that will continue whatever I do. If it dooms my videos to YT jail then so be it, I just can't continue to make the stuff that's being associated with these low-quality race videos any more.
Cant lie that your viral video is what led me to your channel, but I stick around because of the effort you put in, and your humor! I hope you dont beat yourself up over the scammers stealing your idea, its not your fault, and I hope this doesnt scare you into not trying a new idea just because someone might steal it!
You're on point, it won't scare me trying new stuff. My brain gets these ideas and I can't not see them through! Funny thing is, as soon as I released the first race I assume a bunch of creators would pick it up too, so it doesn't bother me for ideas being used by others. What bothers me is it's such low-effort scam videos meant to lure in easy views from kids. That means my videos get tarnished with the same brush and it's basically forcing me to change direction to avoid it
Love your sense of humour, love your dedication to building lovely things in planet zoo. Sad about the racing. But it is what it is. You keep being you!

I loved the racing videos so much so I’ll really miss them. I’d love to see more challenges and funky ways to use the game bc your creativity is so amazing. You’re also a great announcer so it would be fun to see if there’s another way to do something like that!

Hopefully one day you can do them again as I really like them, sometimes I rewatch them, to bad scammers are everywhere these days it's so frustrating! I do like your building videos as well! Keep up the good work and it's good you made this choice!😊
That's sad. I always enjoyed your races bc of you and your zany commentary. I still remember your build on pz's livestream with all the balls.
I'd considered making races on my own channel (not this one) but now I think I'll stick to my plan to run career mode or franchise when I have a computer that'll run PZ with obs.

Thank you! The World Championship legit took about 2 months to set up and record. I'm proud of what I achieved with that and it makes me so sad that it's being labelled with these low-quality race videos targeted at kids
I wish more creators were as considerate and purposeful about how their content is being treated by algorithms like you have been, especially when it comes to the exploitation of child audiences. While it's such a shame you have to do this, I think it really speaks to the quality of your character that you are making this change. So many people would turn the other cheek to being associated with exploitative content if it means they're getting views. Thank you for being a creator with the kind of integrity and morality to both publicly address the issue and take action against it!
Thank you for recognising that! My choices were to move on, or pivot the channel into it even more like you've said. Follow the trend, but I couldn't do that, that's not what the channel is about
Tbf I noticed more and more of these Planet Zoo racing videos pop up on RUclips too. And they're made by clickbaity channels as well. It's kind of sad ngl, taking a zoo building game and making racing videos like those.
It breaks my heart that this situation has played out. My original idea has been butchered for easy views and they don't care what the consequences are

I don't think it's being 'mean' on purpose, they're just commercial channels in it for the advertisement revenue. I don't know what people's situation is, but it's an easy win for them because all it takes is stepping over others to do it!

I have another idea for videos. Why not making an actual National Park in Planet Zoo! I got that idea from Commandernate’s channel and what he does is so creative.
one time I found this channel that doesn’t use the planet zoo game but uses these free animal models and makes them go through a running animation loop, but still labels it as planet zoo, I cant remember the name of the channel but you did areally good effort on your race videos, especially the ones where you race 1000 animals or something, that must take you forever.
It really did! The 2000 animals race, it bugs me that the quality is so poor on that video, but unavoidable. Once you add 700+ animals the game is not happy!! I've worked hard to bring these races to fruition. They typically take around 500 hours to build the course, then 5 hours to record, and about 24 hours to edit that down. I made a mock equestrian race for this video, and it took 5 minutes to set up. That's what annoys me so much about the influx of low quality races in Planet Zoo that we're being inundated with. My videos, with all that work, are being lumped into the same category as the low-effort ones on YT. It sucks!
The coliseum build is crazyy. I know it’s likely that I subbed to you for the races initially but I’ve stuck around for the starter habitats and download them off the workshop

Hi! You may remember me from commenting on my response on one of your recent videos. Your racing videos were legend of your channel. They were such classics. It is very sad and nostalgic to see them leave, but it’s ok. I am still happy for the Every Animal Franchise Zoo.

Any age is absolutely fine! My videos, whilst not targeted for kids are very kid-appropriate. I don't swear, I don't talk about adult things, I'm very happy to be entertaining an audience of any age! What's upset me about this whole issue is the other videos are clearly targeted at a very young audience. The simplistic nature, the bright colours, they're targeting 2-6 year olds and that really doesn't sit well with me. It makes me sad that my videos are being pushed by YT to the same audience, when they're not made for them.

Y’know something similar happened to me, not quite that people started using my video idea but randomly one of my videos did insanely well for how small my channel was at the time.

BsWhyNot is probably the most competent of these race channels, so don't feel bad! They are committed to the idea of racing the animals, and do so better than the others.
i have a question because planet zoo is a new game for me and i am trying to improve is there any way that you could tour my zoo to tell what to improve because i have worked a lot on my zoo and i want to improve plese.
I will miss actual planet zoo racing content here, these scam channels are less racing similar to your content and moreso that “brain rot” term everyone is throwing around lately. It sucks but I understand the situation

I have to say, i googled planet zoo animal racing and only your videos are coming up! Maybe there is one with a cat ai thing with an annoying highpitched voice, but besides that its only your videos!
That's exactly my issue. I've done searches in incognito mode on YT and my videos are being categorised with these low-quality efforts. Whatever video I put out, the race ones are outperforming these every time because of how they're being presented on YT. It makes me so sad that the build and gameplay videos are being artificially shadowed because of how well the race ones do

Yeah, I can definitely see why you decided to stop making animal sports videos. I've seen several of those racing videos and they pretty much lack the originality and charm that your videos have.
This is especially the case since those racing videos pretty much blend in with each other since, they essentially have the same thumbnails, same shots, same angles and loop the same music over and over again until it becomes annoying.
I just wanted to let u know that the chimpanzee habitat has a problem where they can just go through one of the gates
I loved the race videos, but I guess it is what it is. The algorithm being crap is sadly nothing new.
