    Five months later and I’m just now watching this because I couldn’t resist the Maniology steam punk sub box. Looking forward to trying stamping!

    So glad to see the stamping on dip nails, curious to know would that sticky base be used for foil transfer as well? Could you do a foil transfer on. Dip nails for us? Thank you

      @SipAndDip you can use a toothpick, detail brush or dotting tool to color in. Make sure you let it dry alll the way and use sticky base coat for sure

      Ahhh oh no!! It definitely took me quite a few practices on swatches 😆 I found that I wasn’t moving fast enough! Polish, scrape, roll! Boom boom boom 😆 I also think next time I’ll do the sticky base coat riiiight before I stamp. By the time I got to each nail it was too dry. But I also was moving like molasses 🐢 🤣 don’t give up on it though! 🫶🏻

    I started with stamping first- Maniology is awesome!- now I'm doing dipping. I did my first one today. My question is, once I've completely finished every step of dipping including the top coat layers, can I then stamp on top of that with my design and use another top coat (my preference is Seche Vite) over the completed work?

    • @SipAndDip
      @SipAndDip  Год назад +1

      Hiiii! Welcome to our dip powder community 🫶🏻 I haven’t personally tried it to say for sure. But you could try this -
      File/shape dip powder
      Cleanse with rubbing alcohol
      Apply sticky base coat
      Stamp
      Apply smudge free top coat
      Then apply your fav top coat!
      I’m still exploring stamping so I’d love to hear how it goes with whichever route you try 💕

  • @ConstantlyRepeatingMyself

    Sticky base coat should be used one nail at a time but really if you stamp you can immediately transfer to the nail without the sticky base coat. Sticky base coat is more for when you do reverse stamping or do not transfer the stamp immediately.

      Thank you so much for sharing! I had a feeling that’s what happened! I definitely will try the sticky base coat right before and 1 nail at a time next time 🫶🏻 I want to try reverse stamping next 🥰

    Love the video. You make it look so easy. I saw that set and it had my favorite colors and i love the plate but I can't get maniology stuff to work right for me. I don't know if it's the stamper or the plate but I have done all the tricks they tell you to try and nope not working. Maybe I'll order it and try again. Thanks for the video.

    • @SipAndDip

      Thank you Lesa! I love the designs they chose and colors too. It’s such a nice softer spring set! Not too bright 🌸
      It definitely took me lotsss of practice on swatches. I found that you have to be really quick! Like polish, scrape, stamper! Boom boom boom 🏃🏼‍♀️ I also believe that it’s better to do the sticky base coat riiight before each design. I was moving like molasses between the nails and it dried down and lost the stickiness. But the biggest game changer for me was moving quickly! I Skyped my girlfriend to troubleshoot and she said speed it up 😆 and ever since then it’s been so much better! I wasn’t able to get the design onto the stamper. I also had trouble getting it OFF the stamper on my nail which I attribute to the base coat being too dry. So I wiped it off and reapplied and then it transferred perfectly. I know that’s long winded lol but I just wanted to share what helped me since I’m still super new to this too! 💖

    Hey, I love this! Just to clarify, just the smudge free top coat works as a protective layer? If you wanted these to last and you weren’t using a peely base would you encapsulate with dip liquid top coat? Thank you

    • @SipAndDip
      @SipAndDip  Год назад +2

      Great question! I have used this as my final top coat for a few other manicures and haven’t had an issue 🫶🏻 I haven’t tried doing a second layer of the top coat but that could also be an option too! I’ve seen others doing different brands of top coat on the smudge free top coat but that’s hit or Miss because the smudge free top coat is water based. I hope this makes sense 🙈 I’ll try doing 2 coats of top coat and see what it does!

      Wheni i stamp over my dip powder.. i use the sticky base coat then stamp then smudge free top coat. After that i apply dip base coat and a layer of clear dip powder then activate, buff as usual and proceed as normal to apply dip top coat!

    • @SipAndDip
      @SipAndDip  Год назад +2

      @@erickacrites5588 you’re the best! Thank you for sharing your steps 🫶🏻 how many layers of dip base do you do before you stamp? Do you file/buff before stamping too?

    • @erickacrites5588
      @erickacrites5588 Год назад +1

      @SipAndDip i usually do my standard of 2 layers of dip, activate, file and buff 1st so then im ready to stamp on a smooth surface. Thats another reason to use the sticky base coat.
