      What is it like living in Cambodia? What are the things to look out for American Expats that want to move to Cambodia? What are the things to do when looking for an apartment if I become an American Expat moving to Cambodia or thinking about moving there?

    • @MoconutLife
      @MoconutLife  Год назад +1

      @@ashleyspitzer6672 Hi Ashley! I quite enjoy it. I've visited a handful of times prior so there wasn't as big a culture shock as if it was during my first time visit. So the mental prep before hand is helpful. Making friends and meeting people sure does help, and I found it easier to do that for sure. I would reach out to one friend who introduced me to another, and to another, and so forth. I recommend joining Facebook groups and asking a bunch of questions to get perspective from different people. However, ultimately, you won't know unless you try it yourself. Plus you don't need to make it permanent right away. Why not test it out first to see if you truly like it before making the big move. You can also check out this video on apartment hunting: ruclips.net/video/O2DP8W6C-nY/видео.html. Wish you the best!

    Woah, I like your compact apt. except the bathroom. The area is less to clean, however, the rent is too expensive for a solo traveller. I also don't care for the Gym and pool. What's important for me is an elevator, good WiFi, A/C and near the market. I've seen a lot of videos on Phnom Penh and am so eager to visit the place. I'm thinking of whether to rent an apt. or stay in a hostel or a guesthouse. Planning to stay for a month.

      Thanks for the compliment! Dental care is fair bit medical is questionable. Most major medical care is done in nearby countries, mainly Thailand or Vietnam. I came prepared with my own medicine just in case, but you would be able to find the basics at Aeon markets or mall. That said, if you need an IV drip or have food poisoning, they can meet your needs. Just question and be cautious if they’re recommending outrageous procedures. Stay healthy!

      @MoconutLife  Год назад +2

      @@eddiemen6752 Hi Eddie! That sounds like a fun trip planned. It honestly depends on your personal preference. BKK1, TTP, and the surrounding area have a lot of ex-pats, but also is close to a lot of shopping malls and diverse food options. However, it does get cheaper if you're closer to the Central Market area. Condos are more expensive because you're paying for certain amenities such as security. However, we had friends who rented the traditional long house for just a few hundred dollars a month (these are usually found through word of mouth). My husband and I preferred the BKK1 area because it was close to the types of food we enjoy and our friends were in the area, but it was more expensive. Hope this helps and hope you enjoy your trip!

    That's a normal relatively large fridge pretty much everywhere, it's just that the US uses gigantic ... everything - refrigerators, cars, food portions and so on. Oh and a fridge with an ice maker is somewhat rarer. You might need some drapes or there might be too much light after the sunrise. For the bathroom issue, maybe a 3M film applied on the glass can get the job done quick and easy.
    Also, best to make sure the AC is cleaned often enough as air quality is not ideal in that part of the world and you want the air filtered properly.
