Okay
Pretty sure we saw Mr. PBH propose to morty in the opening credits a few seasons ago. That'd be when they crossed that one off I guess
honestly im rooting for churro to get his revenge !!
that looks like Jerimiah Burton! Shout out Donut
Beat thing is,no one cares where you got your start lol please just discuss the content.Make your own personal channel if you wanna talk about your personal life.
That gun bit is pure comedy gold
And the fact that 9/11 was right after it 💀
12:30 i can’t be the only one who thought the gorilla gun would be a gun that shoots gorillas
Would have made more sense than the last one shown tbh.
its the first thought that came to my mind. which is why that entire bit had me dying of laugher and is prolly my fav rick and morty bit ever now lmfao.
You are
i love how little jerry cares about being embarrassed by the observer, like at this point he really has no ammo that can be used against him
I really dig the Interdimensional Cable style episodes. Reminds me of sketch comedy that id watch on TV as a kid
Inter dim cables?… Rick nd Morry b4 Rick nd Morry = “House of cosbys”… thank me later but u welcome in advance.
We actually saw the Morty marrying PB moment in Morty's Mindblowers
👍👍👍
I was just thinking this - wasn't sure if I was misremembering!
Ah thank you I thought so!
The interplanetary Cricket World Cup is probably a nod to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Hmmm 🤔
Yesterday was the cricket World Cup finals.
@@currentaf8455they don’t know lol Congrats Aussie Aussie Aussie
@@currentaf8455 the entire plot of one of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books one of the most famous sci-fi books of all time what is about in ancient Cricket War started by a race of people who played Cricket all the time and then decided I needed to exterminate all of their life in the galaxy a lot of the weapons were based on Cricket and at the end they decided to end of the war because they wanted to have away games and play cricket with other species
@@lord_benjammin9182yeah, it’s the 3rd book: Life, The Universe, and Everything. 👍
As a person that's worked at Carl's jrs/Hardee's for over a year knowing that the burger Rick wants has been discontinued for 8 months I am deeply offended by Rick getting that burger unless we find out Morty went to a different dimension to get that burger lmfao
I think that's the implication, yes. Like when Rick got pizza from another dimension that didn't have daylight savings, or something like that
@@vinnybastosbruh
I’d pay to see some of those sketches with Jessica!
Or México, we have wéstern bacon
well remember, it was a memory so it was probably just from before it was discontinued
Troy said 'free churro!' in the post credits scene, and I wonder if that was a shout out to the writers of Bojack Horseman. Their episode titled 'Free Churro' was nominated for several Emmys, I believe.
Characters name is Brad not Troy.
My question is, why not just make the other churros alive as well?
@@nmorgan2380that's what I thought too but then I concluded it's because Rick probably realised that it would be far worse to deal with an Army of sentient Churros than one Sentient Churro should things take that turn.
I had the same feeling about Free Churro. At first I had suspected that it was probably because they won the Emmy over Bojack with Pickle Rick but those two episodes weren't nominated at the same time. I was hoping it would be covered in one of these explanation videos.
The "Morty Marries Mr. PB" might be a reference to one of the Morty Mindblowers (s3 e8). One of them shows Mr. PB proposing to him so maybe after they got Morty to do it they mind blew him to undo it.
Rick's escalating alcoholism feels like it's foreshadowing the beginning of a drastic shift in tone for his character. Especially now that he got the vengeance he desperately wanted against his nemesis. It's an interesting direction to take his character if they decide to go that route.
Rick has been an alcoholic since the pilot?
@@treycorte2203 right? If anything it seems like he's been drinking less... granted the beginning of this episode could be seen as a relapse of sorts.
I disagree. It's not escalating at all- it used to be more promenent than now. I'm sorry but you're just saying things right now.
And now Morty gets his own Nemesis!
Rick is a functional alcoholic. Nothing more.
I think the physical shape of the Observer(s) is a Star Trek reference. The Guardians of Time's portal looks exactly like the Observers in the episode.
You are correct
Yeah I think Harmon mentioned them in the inside the episode bit that plays after the credits.
I think Beth drinking wine out the toilet was a reference to the vr game
Yep. That was my thought as well. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
He's a leg. A leg morty. Hes leg rick
Morty proposing to PB was a quick cutway in the Mindblowers ep!
Yes, I thought they team would have caught that.
I like that you can tell Rick's "leg day" happened twice because on the first clip he's a right leg, but on the second he's a left leg
I watched several reviews of this episode and, so far, NO ONE got the reference of the Gorilla Gun. C'mon people! Ghostbusters, the one with the Gorilla!
The observers also reminds me of the guardians of forever from Star Trek.
yes ! I was about to comment the same thing..from the 'The city on the edge of forever' episode.
The blade thing also featured in a previous episode I think the first Mr Nimbus one all the way at the beginning
That’s right! The Death Crystals! 😂
There’s an episode, I think it’s Rick that says, ‘oh, we’re we blades in that one?’. I wonder if this blade sequence has anything to do with that 🤷🏼♂️
Season 4, Ep 1
3 great episodes in a row 🔥🔥🔥
Neat
6
6 in a row
I don't know about you guys. But I'm loving this season
Yeah it's been great
It’s been much better than expected, especially after the 1st episode. I honestly can’t tell a difference in the R&M voices
Damn good season so far
@@Eclipsed972 wasn’t impressed with the recent episode, but overall still very good
I like when there's a mix of random episodes and Canon ones. Episode 6 was so left field I loved it
As much as I enjoy the lore heavy episodes only 1/2 would crack my top 10 favourite episodes. I fell in love with R&M because of the random episodes like this 😂
Yup just like Adventure Time I love the randomness lol
We saw Morty marry Mr PB in Morty’s mind blowers
14:07 IS THAT JERRY ON THE LEFT FROM DONUT MEDIA?!
What made me laugh the most was that Morty got another gun at the end. Also the shoot bad people gun did end up helping him.
Start a chain
PICKLE RICK!🔥
LEG RICK!
LITTLE RICK
Tiny Rick
Simple Rick
No
I like that our Morty was able to reverse the state that evil Morty purposefully put Rick in.
Evil Morty didn't do shit, he just happened to be there.
@@SHMOUSEY86 I believe he "helped" Rick because he wanted him to plunge into an existential crisis.
@@maximilianneumeyer2971 he helped so Rick and morty would both stay away from him. If he wanted to plunge Rick into a mental crisis, he could have done it the first two times they had met.
No one else sees The Guardian of Forever in the Observers?
I loved this episode so much
The announcer voice is actually based on Ted White's narration on 1970's Super Friends.
Is it overanalyzing that when Brad went "Oooh, free Churro!" I immeadiately thought of the legendary Bojack Horseman episode "Free Churro"? The two shows have been compared a lot, share personell overlap and seeem to have general goodwill towards each other, so... hidden shout-out or just a coincidence?
"Morty marries Mr. PB" is a callback to one of the quick-flash moments in Morty's Mindblowers.
I know the 2 guards were video game and Labyrinth references ... but I also got a Never Ending Story vibe aka the Sphinxes and the Southern Oracle
"Were we Blades in that one? Sick!"
At 16:00 of this video, one of the DVD covers is X-men Days of Future Past. Also Morty married Mr. PB in a clip from, I think, Morty's Mindblowers.
Lampshading, its just called lampshading, and it doesn't make it any better that you acknowledge it, you're still doing it
Love seeing Jeremiah Burton pop up in the Origin Story of you and Jessica meeting 🤣
haha i was looking for this comment
@@TsiGS lol same
Literally watching this with my tabled like that
Thanks for this!
14:39 also referenced the “two guys chilling in a hot tub…” vine 🤣🤣🤣
The rock crystal people are from starTrek
this episode genuinely made me laugh so much, I really liked it. the observer’s commentary was great LMAO
Im looking for "it's not you it's me" a la Randy Newman right after this episode
2:50 when Rick says “I got friends in Cosmic places.” Seems like a play on words to the lyric of Garth Brooks song “Friends in Low Places”, “Oh, I got friends in low places”
And the some of the lyrics also describes Rick’s current situation. “Whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away”
Additionally. The two knights and temple remind me of the fight in Tyr's vault in the God of War reboot, one red troll, one blue.
Another game where it's notorious for very telegraphed attacks.
As a Blade comic & film enthusiast the Whistler bit was worth this entire runtime for me.
That churro promised Morty he would strand him on a barren planet like Morty has stranded him on the cinnamon planet. Please make a churro episode. 😁
Nicely done
I am shocked at how fast these videos hit the internet.
Tbh I hope they get an episode with franks parents getting revenge on Rick for freezing his son in the first episode 😂 because his family is “rich” lmaoo
2:43 I have friends in cosmic places is a reference to a country song called I have friends in low places
I hope Maria Bamford is a recurring character. ❤
0:25 You can even see the animation differences between certain clips which told me some of these were pitched episodes that actually got made years ago
on 8:29 when you talkin about morty marrying Mr.PB it happend on season 3 ep 8 "Mortys Mind Blower" u see it in one of Mortys erased memories by rick ,just saw the episode and it reminded me of your video ^^
15:51 behind Oppenheimer Requiem is something starring one of the guys from the Story Train vignettes
I can't believe the entire trailer was from this episode
14:52 did anyone notice that rick is working on the same device that’s also seen in season 1 episode 6 „rick potion #9“?
The Observer looks like the Guardian of Forever from Startrek (another sentient talking portal)
"Morty marries Mr PBH" is a reference to Morty's mind blowers. It was a clip that was shown while Morty was trying to remember everything.
15:32
Spot-on Randy Newman
literally the best episode of the last 5 seasons, this is classic rick and morty!
This episode was good but no way in hell is it the best of the last 5 seasons lmao
@@Mumps999subjective vs objective mmm
Do anyone else reason That Summer Look a little bit like Jerry
Their heads are literally the same without the hair 😂
They really love their Blade refernces 😅 the whistler one was spot on 😂 he would chat too much shit for too long, bragging about the armoury giving us that sweet expo 😅 until it got the better of him
Another Easter Egg: In The Salty Rick, "Morty Marries Mr. PB" is crossed out because we saw Mr. PB propose to Morty in S3E8 "Morty's Mind Blowers" at 18 min 51 sec, as one of the erased memories.
Interplanetary Cricket World Cup seems like a reference to Douglas Adams's book "Life, the Universe, and Everything". In that world, the Cricket wars left a genetic memory on most planets such that almost all planets play some variant of the game Cricket, not realizing they are essentially reenacting a historical war.
3:27 not just like the shrines in botw, it even has the same sheikah eye symbol at the top of the door
@15.54 their in the background is a call back to the train episode of when they did the story lord arc.
Anyone else see it?
The interdimensional cable is hosted by the cosmic rocks
In the background of the garage , you can see the machine Rick was working on in the season 1 episode 6
Morty married Mr. PB in season 3’s Mortys mind blowers
That shouting bad people gun had me laughing
Why does no one point out the Dvd on that table of boot legs that has the Story train character on the cover? In between Batgirl and Oppenheimer 2
I thought the needles gave Jerry some reaction and powers and the people inside the toliet was the joke… I thought it was another small world inside the toliet 😂
The armors reminded me of the armors you fight in OOT.
Erik's Randy Newman impression is spotttt on.
That Zelda scene had some great LoZ details, like the blue writing and the Sheikah Eye
The hamster that pops out with Rick when he rescues Morty may be another sidekick from his wheel of Morty replacements
Even though I went to a couple film schools, I learned the term Hang a Lantern from SG-1s Meta episode Wormhole Extreme.
Morty did marry Mr. PB. Internet do your thing
No. Gross.
The gun that shoots bad people made me laugh out loud.
Hemingway would make sense, but when I first saw it I thought Rick was fishing with Nick Offerman... :D
Morty bets did make me chuckle a little 😅
at 14:04 is that Jerimiah Burton from Donut Media on the left?
there was a cut scene with morty marring Mr PB
Ur jerry voice is gold
7:08 I’m assuming that this is a reference to the “Rick and two crows” subplot
Know how I'd handle the "truth vs. lies" experiment? Ask 'em how many fingers I'm holding up. Boom.
That doesn't work.
@@JB-wy8fc Why not?
Was that Jeremiah Burton from Donut all the way on the left on the sketch comedy group photo?!
That Jeffery Dahmer bit is crazy
14:06 is that Jeramiah Burton from Donut media on the left?
the gun thing might also be a solar opposites thing because they have a ray gun for every situation
14:07 is that Jeremiah Burton on the left?
The observer also feels like the Guardian of Forever, at the City on the Edge of Forever, from Star Trek.
There is a clip from Morty's mind blowers showing an erased memory of Mr PB and him getting married.
i'm a leg is also a reference to the meme derived from "i am legend" where the cover was photoshoped to read "i am leg" with will smith's head on just a leg
The car was a VW Bug, and there's been a rumor/urban legend that if you buried a Bug and dig it up decades later, it would still run. Basically a zombie car.
At 8:30, for morty marries Mr. PB, you say somewhere in the multiverse, it’s happened, but (and do correct me if I’m wrong) I believe in Morty’s mind blowers (it might’ve been another episode) we see a small clip of our Morty marrying Mr. PB so it might be a reference to the small clip from before.
Was one of those Randy Newmans Jeremiah Burton?
Stranding the churro on a dessert planet is also probably a Dune reference
