The werewolf mention was a reference to Van Helsing, which Hugh played Van Helsing...
Is that an aviator gin bottle ? the one in the back (2:27) ?
Pharmacists do not prescribe medication.
Don't spread misinformation.
Rick actually did host the Oscar's in-universe. It was Episode 605, with the dinosaurs.
It was 606
@@BrickPics69it was 603
Episode 3 was the Beth episode
@BrickPics69 it was 613 not 606
Actually it was the episode with the sze suan sauce
you're actually right wtf, i was upset about how rick sounds super weird now but i just realized he does sound exactly like he did in the pilot, that makes me appreciate this so much more now thanks
Rick’s voice is 95% there. He just misses some of that raspiness when he yells. Morty’s voice sounds fine to me; in the line where he tells rick about Poopy, it sounds just like season 6 morty. Still need to hear more of his voice though
Give them time to acclimatise to the voices. They'll eventually get into a proper flow
They sounded ok, it just felt more scripted and lower energy to me. It wasn't bad, just didn't quite feel right. Hopefully it will improve as the season goes on.
Rick's was okay, Morty's was good, but I feel Mr. PB was off.
How did you watch the episode?
@dragonusa i agree Mr PB felt like a caricature of the true Mr PB
And it out freely more scripted, but still funny
Gene being the "normal" guy was a great addition. Hope he goes on more adventures with them.
So glad you’re back to do more Rick and Morty breakdowns!
I haven't seen anyone mention it yet but the Fuck You's restaurant that they had the intervention at is a reference to the real life Restaurant Dick's Last Resort. It's a restaurant where the servers are intentionally mean to the customers.
Pharmacists don't prescribe.
They dispense, like drug dealers
The base of the voices are there I will say. Normally when Rick talks he gets a bit louder and that's when you noice the voice deeper rather then pitch higher (like Roland's). Morty'd awkwardness voice is yet to be seen so its pretty good so far
I have no problem with the new voices. The most noticable was MPB, but it is fine.
Mr. Poopybutthole burning as he faded away had me in literal tears 😂
HOW DID THE OTHER GUYS HANDLE IT?!
Right? That was so good 😂🙌🏻
I loved when he opened a can of soda while hiding from the Predator and admitted he is self sabotaging. 😂😂😂
The whispering werewolf saying THANK YOU is a reference to The Monster Squad film from the 80s
Bird Persons ringtone is actually the call of a Red-Tailed Hawk, not an Eagle!
i learned that cry was from a red-tailed hawk years ago and it somehow stuck with me
Which is still weird, is your phone ringtone a humans voice screaming? No.
Tbf, I used to have a recording of a song as my ringtone, which is technically a human screaming, so call me a hypocrite!
Someone suggested that the ghost falling through the floor and the lightsaber going straight down are a result of Rick making the garage “true level” 😂
Morty reaction standing there was so funny I love that idea too
But he only made a 1 meter squared area true level, and it fucked with mortys head so much he had to be brainwashed
I'm surprised he didn't mention this Easter egg, but the predator tossin him a musket is a reference to the ending of predator 2 when he tosses Danny glover a musket showing how long they have been coming to earth
What did you think of the new voice acting? Did you notice it? Or was it seamless to you?
They were seamless ... especially if you look at it from the perspective of "voice acting is actually a difficult craft" and not a "nothings good enough"
Most people who comment the voices are shit wouldn't be able to do any better
The only voice that really hit my ear off was Mr. Poopy Butthole... The other two were pretty spot on through my first watch through.
Super duper seamless
Thet did right
@@j0ltc0lajunki3 I concur 😌
Rick and Morty breakdowns... I live for these.
I didn’t notice the voices at all. I knew theychanged before I watched it but I forgot and couldn’t tell. Just as long as the writers don’t change it’ll be a 10/10 season
I didn’t know they changed and only just realized after watch the whole season.
To my hear, the difference in Morty's voice was much more noticeable, than the difference in Rick's voice... That being said I got acclimatized to them both pretty quick.
Yeah who ever is doing Mr Poopybutthole now is def off to me but Rick sounds amazing Morty just seems a bit off at times but somehow more a real person 😂
These vids are part of the reason I'm always so happy that Rick and Morty is back! Always looking forward to watching these after the episodes air! I wish they wouldn't take long breaks like the Simpsons lol
exactly like jesus just drop the whole season
I hope Jerry doing the Van-Damme splits from "Bloodsport" during the opening is an actual episode lol.
I was assuming "Femme Fatale training camp" was referencing things like the Red Room from Black Widow etc.
Or Red Sparrow, Salt, or any female spy based movie or story.
Or Nikita
I figured the "didn't expect in a cold open" line was just a reference to Mr PB usually being in the season finale end tag
I think the fading and narration is more a spin on the ending of "Stand by me," not" The Sandlot." They totally ripped that off.
Yeah it’s more from Stand by Me which was technically first before The Sandlot
I love this episode no the new voices actually sound good
Tiny thing I noticed, after partying everyone’s eyes returned from bloodshot red to normal at different times; Rick and Jackman were first, followed by Squanchy, Gearhead, Mr. PoopyButthole, and BP, then Gene last. Don’t know if it matters! Makes sense that Rick and Jackman party the hardest and Gene presumably parties the least.
The flintlock pistol that the Predator gives to Mr. Poopy Butthole is a nod to Predator 2 when the Predator Chief gave Mike Harrigan(Danny Glover) a Flintlock for killing the Predator who was hunting him.
In the "Prey" predator movie it makes another appearance. It's the canonical origin of the flintlock. Good movie too!
Yeah that's why Rick says he thinks it may be their only currency
Yesss. I kept checking for when you'd review this episode and I was afraid you weren't going to do it but here it is 😁.
Watching your reviews is as exciting as watching the actual episode. I look forward to both with the same anticipation
Rick hosted the Oscars in the dinosaurs episode
I’ll be honest, I was pessimistic about the new voice actors but admittedly they didn’t do a terrible job. I really only noticed Morty, MPH and Scronchy’s voice. Rick’s also had moments where the new actor didn’t get the range Roiland did. But not bad
Agreed. Rick feels a bit rigid
The VA needs to be more drunk😂
I think the line about the werewolf saying “thank you” after being impaled is a reference to the 80s movie Monster Squad where the werewolf guy thanked the kids for shooting him in with a silver bullet because he didn’t want his werewolf form to hurt anyone.
Let’s get riggity riggity wrecked son !!!!!
Okay I feel like you skipped over the potential drama regarding the wedding photo scene where Mr Poopybutthole was very clearly looking at the wedding photo and Hugh didn't even acknowledge the photo and went straight to the Tony. It could be my Aussie humour but it seemed like that was deliberate due to some drama behind the scenes and was clearly making a stance on the divorce.
So true 👍🏽
It just sounds like morty has gotten older and rick is a little weird but it's fine. They are awesome
The Beetlejuice gag is even more brilliant when you realize the third time his name is mentioned and "he" appears, it's Halloween.
13:27 We all need more Beck Bennett in our lives. That SNL sketch where he was the original “Boss Baby”, will always be one of my favorites.
I could not tell that there was a voice changeover. I loved how they handled the voice change over in Solar Opposites.
Me too especially when they say the thing about even flashbacks will have the voice changed because science lol
Deaf 😂
I couldn’t tell either if I’m reading subtitles while it’s on mute.
Pretty good episode
Couldn't even realize that there were different voice actors until this video
yeah this whole season is dope
Thank You Sir For Coming Back To Host Rick And Morty Breakdowns. 👍
If i didn't know they were new voice actors, id not have known.
I will admit in the one trailer Rick sounded a lil off, but not in this episode at all. And as a whole, enjoyed the episode.
The voice change was so obvious to me that it got distracting and I had to turn off the episode halfway thru lol
I lived vicariously through this episode, wishing old friends and myself could get together for another toss-around. For old time's sake!
I love that you support the old / new and continuing New rockstars cast .. all love ❤.. and I love the details.. let’s go season 7 !!
The part at the end with the small town sheriff's art style 100% took inspiration from TWD comic book's colorized version of the covers.
7:10 to the far right, isn’t it the same photo that bird person showed Morty in s2e1, of Rick holding Morty as a baby?
I swear to god the name of the Predator P.I. is some deep cuts reference to the Dark Horse comics.
also, if Jackman was still true blue 'strayan, those pills were getting shelved
pretty bad episode tbh. of course love your work on these though.
Why? What was wrong with it
@@professorpengu502 shit jokes
Jokes weren’t the best, not my favorite episode and aside for some quirks of inflection in the voices I am happy with the voices
That scene with the alien who only had 5 belly buttons filled with shots for the 6 dudes had me 🤣🤣🤣
It was great season premiere. I definitely didn't even notice the change of voice actors. Totally forgot.
Side note, the whole fading away thing isn't specific to The Sandlot. It is just a Trope of the 80's and 90's during coming-of-age films where the voice-over usually talks about what happened to specific characters over the years, usually describing a dramatic sad sequence of events and then they fade away. I remember it from Stand By Me, Boyz in the Hood, and so many more.
Also the “he whispered I’m sorry like a werewolf”, I’m pretty sure that’s referring to the death scene in Logan, but I could be wrong
The only one who faded in stand by me was the kid who later died, same as boyz in the hood.
This was def a sandlot framing, giving voice descriptions of that character during their fade.
Ya, I told my primary care Doc , I wasn't the one writing me prescriptions ....It was the specialists
The predator tossing the musket is a reference to predator 2
Something to do with prey too, that's why Rick says it's like their currency 😅
i was thinking that the after credits was a nod to the mist a little with how he shoots a revolver and how if he waited that like in the ending of the mist, they would all still be alive
When Mr.poopy got his pill “ughhh! Is mine different!” 😂
The femme fatale training camp joke would be something along the lines of the Red Room from Black Widow. Female killers that most likely get close to their targets using seduction techniques.
Glad that you’re back for these Voss. That’s all I am gonna say
The end scene outside the taco restaurant is another scene from Say Anything.
Ricks Werewolf/thank you comment is a reference to The Monster Squad.
6:49 "Point of No Return" was based on "La Femme Nikita." Bridgette Fonda's character was resurrected after the death penalty to be trained as an assassin.
14:07 Wasn’t ripping out Gearhead’s spine a classic predator move?
The new voices sound great tbh
You forgot when he said. "Here I go pilling again" with reference to krombopulas michael
SO HAPPY to see Good Neighbor get a shoutout. My buds and I watched all of their stuff in high school while passing the bongo around. Good times
Hearing Eric say the lyrics, brings to mind the song "we didn't start the fire" by Billy Joel
I've been gone for a while but seeing this pop upinmy feed did bring a smile to my face.
You can DEFINITELY notice a change in voice, but you kinda have to accept it bc the first guy was a perv so
The Sandlot and Stand by Me did the kind of endings
DO you think that in any way rick could be rick prime?
At this point I think they have enough unused scenes from the opening credits to make a whole episode out of them.
And monster squad the werewolf says thankyou afterhe gets shot with a silver bullet if i remember correctly
There was another reference to the movie Major Paine when the robot said “business is my business and business is good” in the movie, said, “killing is my business ladies and business is good.”
the musket is a reference to Predator 2, offering a weapon is a sign of respect among Yatjua
Where do you watch it? I can’t find it
i even went to imdb while watching to see who's voicing jackmen and he wasnt there. damn those edit volunteers taking their time
16:19 the cross he pulls out specifically looks like the rosaries that Connor and Murphy wear in Boondock Saints (which is another movie about two brothers)
Erik Voss is back for Rick and Morty this season! Yay!
9:11 I don’t know why, but it reminds me of the bar they took Troy to and Community lol
Being imprisoned in a Femme Fatale training camp sounds like some Red Room activity
The lawn mower scene could also be a nod to Austin Powers with the steamroller
I wasn't aware that they switched voice actors until I was told after having watched the first 3 episodes. I didn't pickup on it on my own - its very close imo.
9:35 "no, not Brown! brown! brown! brown! brown! brown!...."
Something about Hugh Jackman's house reminded me of the Cabinet of Curiosities episode, "The Viewing"
at first, ngl i got upset when they fired roiland. i thought the show wasnt gonna be the same. i hardly noticed a difference. sometimes morty sounds a lil off but hes also a teenage boy so things change. im so happy rick and morty is back. great episode!
I actually like the change. Doesn’t really affect the way i hear the voices since they sound the same
"Femme Fatale Trainint Camp" is clearly a black widow reference
Pretty sure the bar they went to is supposed to be "Dick's Last Resort" a restaurant in Las Vegas where the whole thing is they treat you like crap.
There’s hundreds of restaurants with that gimmick
imma be honest i thought nr wasnt going to cover season 7 but im very happy now
is it me or was Jackman sober the entire episode?
I did not find the new voices seamless. I noticed the difference immediately!!!
That's a high bar, but they're fine.
I didn’t realize the voices were different.
Glad to see they r still breaking the show down!
I lost it when they're hiding from Predator PI and Poopy cracks a beer.
When I seen the ending clip, I instantly thought of Sam Elliot. Anyone else or just me?
Yes, I wanted to hear his voice when I saw that mustache
@@mikelitteris69 I honestly thought I was going to, upset it didn't happen but legit looks like him to a tee.
Hi love your work
Caribbean Queen came out when Jackman was 16
Bird Daughter's "femme fatale training prison" is like the Widow program in MCU.
where is szn 7 streaming? i can't find the new episode on hulu
Hugh Jackman’s living room looked like the same one from Glass Onion.
The transition of voice actors was pretty seemless, there really were so few times when you could tell that something was off, but they were so few and far between that it's not really a problem. Heck, I couldn't really tell that Mr. P.B.H. was different.
Watched it a couple times now off the adult swim app and the second time was much better personal. The voice thing was not an issue for me, my brain adapted well. If I had a grip the first time was just the different animation of living room but wasn’t an issue the second time around.
I missed when Rick used to burrrp 😂😂...but the episode was really awesome
His drinking addiction stopped
It damaged Justin’s voice
