I recently found my DW5600 after rummaging through storage. It sat in there for nearly 10 years without a battery change, and is still ticking away without a new battery, 5 months after I found it. Of course it was in storage so the alarm and light weren’t being used and thus weren’t killing the battery, but still. Absolutely outstanding.

Nice video. Thanks. I only have one so far, my beater gw-m5610. Ive worn it for 4 or 5 years. I wasn't real excited about it when I ordered it, but the more I wear it, the more I realize how cool and tough this little watch is. And I bought it when the trending watch style was bigger=better, so I was going against the grain here. But I wanted solar and atomic, and I wanted something to fit under my sleeves easier. It does all that. I've put it through some rough situations and its still kicking, though I could use a new bezel cover on it, but I don't care about that. I do have the gold metal square which is probably an odd place to start with squares but I’ve definitely been considering the BT combi version. I work at night a lot so auto receiving is useless for me and I use the Bluetooth and manual receive when I want to.

The 5600E is one of the best watches you can buy for the price, but consider one thing when you buy it. It pulls hair but if you screw the back tighter It will reduce the pulling, but it will still exist.

Picking one up in the next few weeks to add to the collection as a true beater, hoping to get a Blackout with the red numerals. Man those black bracelets look great though, I need to find those.
watchuseek forums explains this. If you do a search for "How to read G Shock model numbers help sheet" it'll explain it. DW means Digital Water resist. GL means G-lide.
Despite being in my early 50s I managed to entirely skip all of these watches. I did once have an LCD watch and so that’s what the $40 version reminds me of. The layout of the squares can’t be beat; I don’t understand the appeal of the rounds. And then I get interested in solar and atomic until I see the prices, and wonder why the display (uh, and the whole thing) looks like 1983. Nostalgia becomes sobering quickly. Digital watches? Apple Watch, that is all. Oh, and that combi bracelet is pretty badass for sure, except for the part where you apparently have to know secret handshakes to find one. And then pay $100 for it. Rapidly takes the fun outta the hobby. I still want one, obviously without knowing why.
This is a nice little collection thanks for sharing. definitely got a subscriber here. I have a second generation G-Shock that the casing started to fall off about a year ago I've had it since 1989 and it was already old then. They started getting parts to restore it but just about 2 weeks ago it crapped out on me I wish I could restore it somewhere. It has welding marks tons of scratches it looks like it went to a war.
Just got my first g-shock. I'm loving it so far. I just wish the light would stay on when switching between time, timer, stopwatch. Really temped to get the solar one because I love my Citizen eco drive.
I have a Casio GB-6900AA with a 3407 module. It was my first “smart” Bluetooth watch. Prior to that I had a Casio 6 band Atomic time analog watch. Wave Ceptor series.
I really like the all metal 5600 but a 1000 wow. I would probably get a really nice mechanical watch maybe even a nice mechanical Swiss watch. And I am a G-Shock square fan I just cannot justify that much money for something that the hundred dollar sheet stock does the same thing except it’s not metal. Great videos all and keep them coming I really like them
Solar on G-shocks is amazing. But that doesn't really matter as the battery life is incredible anyway. But a lovely collection like that gold one at 10:00 is such an amazing LCD.
Casio were very clever (as was Swatch) to make their watch models variations only look cosmetically different while same inside. Good way to make people buy more or do setting everyone only needs one of.
Omg bro my girlfriend got me one and I wear it daily 😝😝. I dont have alot but the scratches are way to easy to get !!! Only thing it doesn't scratch on is wood
11:56 That is a nice addition to your collection of G-Shocks but far too bling to be practical. I would not dare wear such a fancy watch for any outdoor activities for fear of scratches, dents and or chips.
I think the concept of the full metal squares is to create a premium, almost luxury watch for those who love the resin squares. Given how polished it is, you're not really meant to use it like a resin square. It's for weekends, desk duty, even going out in a nice shirt or suit. You've got a great looking watch that has all the internal hardiness of the original G in case it's necessary. I'm sure there are thousands of people who grew up with resin squares, and would love a more 'adult' version of their childhood/teenage watch.
@@raksh9 Yes so true what you say and it is an upgrade from the resins of our youth. 😄 Casio has always made straps specific to their brand and model of watch.

I don’t want any other watch than a g shock square my fav watch
G-Shock is the sickest brand of watch ever 😋
Do you mean "Casio"?
9:30 Casio G-Shock DW-5035D is the most beuatiful....
Which watch did he take the band off of to put on the DW-5035D. I can't find one anywhere
I want that square G-shock robot at the background!
That 30 and 35 anniversary edition is so hella fine!
Beautiful collection there, damn, I love Casio watches.
Soooooooo great collection... Congratulations!!!! Awesome
I have a Casio GB-6900AA with a 3407 module. It was my first “smart” Bluetooth watch. Prior to that I had a Casio 6 band Atomic time analog watch. Wave Ceptor series.
I have a GW-5000, it's about $300. But they are just amazing, and they're MIJ
Am tempted to get a GW 5000, ughhh...
Do you need to pay inport fees?
Nice one! I don't have so many squares in my collection, but they are steadily building ...
If i ever get a chance, i would like to steal that wood grain square.
Casio were very clever (as was Swatch) to make their watch models variations only look cosmetically different while same inside. Good way to make people buy more or do setting everyone only needs one of.
I'm a one watch man... I went with the DW-5600MS-1 the only watch I'll ever need.
Been wearing a square since the DW-5000 in '83. Today it's the GX-56. SIZE MATTERS..
I got my DW5600 in 1988 and still wearing it 👍
So this is what Badger’s been up to.
He does sound like him.
Ha good ear!
G-SHOCK squares are just like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. No matter how their functions are improved, their shapes are still stick to classic.
new g classes aren't that though and reliable, bad comparison
The full metal at 11:55 is the one that caught my eye. I've been on the fence about it for awhile.
Omg bro my girlfriend got me one and I wear it daily 😝😝. I dont have alot but the scratches are way to easy to get !!! Only thing it doesn't scratch on is wood
Very nice collection i wish to have a bleu or brown one it’s fantastic for surfing
I've been sucked in. Bought 5 at one time.
Two of the DW5600-BB
Two of the DW-5600-SK
And one DW-5600- with black all around blue underneath.
