Hello! Thank you so much for sharing such informative videos. I have a question regarding the CeraVe moisturizing lotion, I have the one for dry to very dry skin, Is it okay if I use it in my normal skin or will it be damaging I would've gotten the one for normal to dry skin but I unfortunately couldn't find it in my country. For my second question, I got the Hydrating Cleanser Bar, the CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream and the Moisturising lotion for my mom with very dry hands and I would like to know in what order should she use these? Thank you so much!!
Hello 😃 It can work. However, sometimes it causes issues. For example, it may feel very heavy on the skin or lead to breakouts because it is too occlusive. The order would be: Cleansing Bar (Wash face, hands..) Moisturizing Lotion And just apply the CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream after you have washed your hands :) No need to use the moisturizing lotion.
Hello! Thank you for such an informative video! I’ve got a question, I was searching for a product to moisturize my face, and found CeraVe. While a research I found out that I can use lotion to my face but not often and it’s better to use cream for face. So should I better buy cream?

Hey! :) I can't remember exactly what it smelled like, but I'd say it was a bit "sweet"-maybe like glue, if that’s what it reminds you of, haha! @@lonevoyager6026 The skin remains damp for a while after washing it. So technically, you always apply it to damp skin after you have cleansed your face. But the mistake that some people make is that they think damp skin= wet with drops on the face; I also assumed that when I was doing skincare first since a lot of people showed it that way, even some dermatologists (I thought that they are honest, which you never know when watching videos online, everyone can claim to be a doctor or knowledgable) Cleanse Face Pat the skin dry = it remains damp Apply Moisturizer immediately This prevents moisture loss since the skin remains damp, and you are basically "hiding" hydration underneath.

Hi! I was looking at videos trying to do some research for my daughters skin. She recently had a bad Eczema break out on her eye. *Never has happened before, did not realize she had eczema*. What face cleanser do you recommend to avoid an eczema break out on the face. We tried Cerve Hydrating facial Cleanser, but then her face got red and with acne. I'm assuming it's too harsh on her skin. I'm looking at Neutrogena Gental Face wash, Cetaphil Gental Face cleanser or Aveeno Oat calm and restore? She has normal to dry skin, sensitive skin. Thank you.
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter has experienced an eczema breakout on her eye. When choosing a face cleanser for someone with eczema-prone skin, it's important to look for products that are gentle, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic. The cleanser should also be formulated to help retain the skin's natural moisture barrier. Of the three cleansers you mentioned, Neutrogena Gentle Face Wash, Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser, and Aveeno Oat Calm and Restore, all have gentle and hydrating formulations suitable for sensitive skin. However, it's important to note that every person's skin is unique, and what works well for one person may not work well for another. If you're unsure which product to try first, you may want to consider patch testing each cleanser on a small area of your daughter's skin before using it all over her face. This can help identify any potential allergic reactions or sensitivity to the product. Ultimately, it may be helpful to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice on the best skincare routine for your daughter's eczema-prone skin. They can evaluate her skin and provide recommendations tailored to her specific needs.

Hey! :) If that's the case, it's fine to not use a moisturiser at all! Just use a cleanser (AM and PM) and SPF during daytime and that's it! :) Or look into a light hydrating essence/serum instead of a moisturiser. What's your skin type?

Since when do you use CeraVe's products? Has your skin become worse ever since using it? If so, I recommend stop using it. If not, check out the following; Have a look at either a 4% or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser (Differin or Panoxyl) or a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser (La Roche Posay (green bottle) or The Inkey List). Hello Hilda, as I said in the video, if you have dryer skin, it may be helpful to use a bit more to cover your face evenly. But at the end of the day, it comes down to what you like and what you feel works best for your skin needs. My advice would be to test it to figure it out. 🥰
Hey Melissa, I have a decent acne prone skin, I get small heads all over my forehead and some times cheek etc. not too much but visible. I don't know what I am doing, could it be my face wash? can fash wash cause acne? I have this moisturizer but whenever I use it I get acne or small breakouts. Should I start using it less? and when I do get a breakout what do I do to get rid of it, do I wait and stop applying everything? I am 15 btw
Yes, some face washes can cause acne or make it worse. If you are experiencing breakouts, it's possible that your current face wash may be contributing to the problem. Look for a gentle, non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog pores) face wash that's specifically formulated for acne-prone skin. If your moisturizer is causing breakouts, it may be too heavy or rich for your skin type. You can try using it less frequently or switching to a lighter moisturizer that's non-comedogenic. When you get a breakout, you can also spot-treat the acne with a product that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which can help to unclog pores and reduce inflammation. However, be careful not to overuse these products, as they can be drying and irritating to the skin.

Hello Lauren, The skin is NOT dry if you pat it "dry". While washing your face, the skin absorbs some water, making it damp. If you have water drops on the skin surface, it is wet. So after you have washed your face, the skin needs some time to dry, which can take up to 30 minutes. But I doubt that it takes you that long in between. ;) Here are some general tips: melissavandijk.docdroid.com/rGeXKlt/general-skincare-tips-pptx
Well, it's mainly designed for dry skin, so if you have dry skin, you can certainly use it. If not, you might want to opt for their ultra-light moisturizing gel instead.

Blend it evenly over your face and, if desired, your neck. There's no need to rub it heavily into the skin. If you don’t use too much moisturizer, it should absorb and set fairly quickly.

@@stanleyhudson9781 Ok, so the answer is simple...don't use a moisturizer! Just use sunscreen throughout the day if you have sun exposure, and that's it! :)
You are a smart girl and you explain well. I have benefited from your information. I have a question. I live in Finland. The weather is very cold here. There is no sun outside. Can I use sunscreen?
Hey :) Well, it depends on how fuzzy you really are. And I am not sure how strong the sun in Finland is, but I assume that the risk is very low, even on a cloudy day. So if you are very concerned about premature aging, my advice is to use it still when outside, even if it is a cloudy day. But if it's dark, you do not need to use sunscreen, of course. 😃 Edit: And use a suitable moisturizer that can protect your skin when outside. For example, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream or something heavier like Vaseline or Nivea if you do not mind fragrance.
I use this product that you just mentioned, I use it in the morning when I go to work and then I use it before going to sleep. I say here there is no sun, a solution to need sunscreen or not
If you have oily skin, then this lotion may be too heavy. You could use the Ultra Light PM lotion instead (ruclips.net/video/DCNPsTk0g30/видео.html) And generally, oily skin produces enough oil to seal the moisture. So, what's more, important is to hydrate your skin well and give it the ingredients it needs. I recommend using a moisturizer with NMF(Natural Moisturizing Factors) and serum with amino acids or a plant oil such as Argan Oil. Example: Cleanser The Ordinary Amino Acids The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors (a bean-sized amount) or 100% Argan Oil (4-6drops) SPF (Daytime when exposed to the sun. E.g., COSRX Aloe soothing sun cream)
As I already mentioned. Your skin probably produces enough oil so that you do not need to use a moisturizer. However, if you want to use one, have a look at CeraVe PM Moisturizer or a gel moisturizer (like Neutrogena, The Inkey List or Clinique).

Also, remove the water drops from the skin surface when applying Niacinamide.
Yeah, this is weird; I think it is just marketing. In Germany, for example, it also says for dry to very dry skin; however, in the US, there is one which says "normal to dry" skin. Overall I think they are okay for the drier areas on your face/body, but I would avoid the oily parts!

I reviewed that one a while ago. I prefer Cetaphil over Cerave's Lotion. But as of now, I love using COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Cream, La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluid or Avene Skin Recovery Cream before applying makeup.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I've watched it too :) Tnx In my country, there is Cetaphil 24h face and body version, but I've got sample of 'only body' version ( inci is the same with the exception of quantity of specific ingredient maybe- I don't know): I don't use primers (I tried one) and it reminds me of primer. If your skin is dehydrated, it is not enough, maybe to put it after richer moisturiser to lock everything in before makeup. I'll try it that way.
What's your skin type? If it isn't hydrating enough, switch to a different one and maybe used that one on your body instead. You do not need to used different moisturizers, stick to one to keep things simple. Just feeling-wise. However, out of all Cerave's moisturisers, I love Cerave's PM moisturiser a lot - or the ones that I have mentioned above.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Normal mostly, with some changes now and then ( drier/oilier). Healthy lifestyle and enough sleep are the key to keeping it 'normal'. Drinking tea too ( try rooibos tea). I like how makeup looks on it. I tend to keep it simple too so I am trying to find a moisturiser with both functions ( skin benefits and primer) as primers are often heavy or have unnecessary/harsh ingredients ( that can be the case with moisturiser too but having 2 in 1 moisturiser would simplify things).
A thing that is a turn off for me in Cerave products is the high concentration of Niacinamide. A LOT of people already use Niacinamide Serums (including me), and the Cerave facial lotion has 4% of Niacinamide! Summing up, you CAN'T use the Cerave facial lotion and a Niacinamide serum together, otherwise your skin will burn to death, which is a bummer and so I stopped buying Cevare facial products. CERAVE: If one wants to put Niacinamide on their faces, one buys a serum for that function!!!
Layering multiple Niacinamide products after another may cause skin irritation if you have sensitive skin. However, it is generally safe as long as the products are used correctly and in the right amounts.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I see. I use the The Ordinary Niacinamide serum (10% Niacinamide + 1% Zinc) and I've got a Cerave Facial moisturizer (4% Niacinamide). Can I layer them together without any worries? I don't have sensitive skin.

Hi! I use the CeraVe face cleanser, CeraVe vitamin C Serum, and CeraVe resurfacing retinol serum. What’s a good order to use these, how often in a day can I use the products and those it matter if it use them in the AM or PM! Thank you 😊
Hmm, generally, that should not be an issue. But from my experience, it does not layer well because of Vitamin C, which has a "weird" texture.
My advice would be to use them at separate times.
AM:

I have a question regarding the CeraVe moisturizing lotion, I have the one for dry to very dry skin, Is it okay if I use it in my normal skin or will it be damaging I would've gotten the one for normal to dry skin but I unfortunately couldn't find it in my country.
For my second question, I got the Hydrating Cleanser Bar, the CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream and the Moisturising lotion for my mom with very dry hands and I would like to know in what order should she use these? Thank you so much!!
Hello 😃
It can work. However, sometimes it causes issues. For example, it may feel very heavy on the skin or lead to breakouts because it is too occlusive.
The order would be:
Cleansing Bar (Wash face, hands..)
Moisturizing Lotion
And just apply the CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream after you have washed your hands :) No need to use the moisturizing lotion.

Hello Melissa
I just started using CeraVe moisturizing lotion for the 1st time. This lotion smells like glue to me but it blends well on my skin. Its batch code says that it was manufactured 1 year ago. I'm used to using fragrance free products actually. Is it normal to have this kind of smell?
Hey! :)
I can't remember exactly what it smelled like, but I'd say it was a bit "sweet"-maybe like glue, if that’s what it reminds you of, haha! It shouldn't have a very strong scent; more like a subtle, neutral, sweet aroma. I don't know if that makes any sense-haha! As long as it doesn't have a strong or somewhat rotten scent, it should be fine!
What moisturizer should I use for a oily acne prone combination sensitive skin?
CeraVe Ultra Light PM lotion or Paula's Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturiser or NIOD Hydration Vaccine (my favourite, but also a bit expensive 😕)

@@lonevoyager6026 The skin remains damp for a while after washing it. So technically, you always apply it to damp skin after you have cleansed your face. But the mistake that some people make is that they think damp skin= wet with drops on the face; I also assumed that when I was doing skincare first since a lot of people showed it that way, even some dermatologists (I thought that they are honest, which you never know when watching videos online, everyone can claim to be a doctor or knowledgable)

Pat the skin dry = it remains damp

What Vitamin C product do you use?

I see it's recommended to apply to damp skin. However I cleanse in the shower and dry off and by the time I get to where I add moisturizer my face is dry. Any tips? Or is applying to the skin dry at that point ok? I always did my whole life in general.
Hello Lauren,
The skin is NOT dry if you pat it "dry". While washing your face, the skin absorbs some water, making it damp. If you have water drops on the skin surface, it is wet. So after you have washed your face, the skin needs some time to dry, which can take up to 30 minutes. But I doubt that it takes you that long in between. ;)

If you have oily skin, then this lotion may be too heavy. You could use the Ultra Light PM lotion instead (ruclips.net/video/DCNPsTk0g30/видео.html)
And generally, oily skin produces enough oil to seal the moisture. So, what's more, important is to hydrate your skin well and give it the ingredients it needs. I recommend using a moisturizer with NMF(Natural Moisturizing Factors) and serum with amino acids or a plant oil such as Argan Oil.
Example:
Cleanser
The Ordinary Amino Acids
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors (a bean-sized amount)
or
100% Argan Oil (4-6drops)

Hey again! :)
Yes, once you are done with your skincare routine, you then can move on to your makeup and layer it on top! :)
If you have a tinted sunscreen, you can use that one not only to protect your skin but it's a great foundation at the same time. So, yes you can use it as a foundation (if the shade matches with your skin tone) and then layer other makeup products on top! :)
Is ot okay a for oily skin?
I would use a hydrating serum or gel-type moisturizer instead.
Ty!
🥰
Can I use this moisturizer on my super oily skin
Please reply 🥺
No, please use the Ultra Light PM lotion.
❤❤❤
How much moisturizer should you use?
Well, there is no guideline. But enough to blend it all over your face and neck. 😀 As a general guide, it should be around a bean-sized amount.
Hello mellisa
Can i use this mosturizer if i have oily face
Technically, yes. Practically, it does not work well. I recommend trying Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel or something similar, such as G&G Hydration Station.

Can we use daily moisturiser lotion on Oily skin aswell?
I think it is too rich. I recommend using their PM moisturizer. Or simple light hydrating moisturizer works well.

@@Wokingmomslife As for plumping and glowing skin, look into The Ordinary Peptides (Buffet + Copper Peptides or Buffet) and/ or Vitamin C (like Geek & Gorgeous Vitamin C Serum). However, do not use them in the same routine since the Ordinary Peptides conflict with Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid).

Hello I just want to ask which is better? The US ver or EU ver daily moisturizing lotion? I can't pick.
Are they any different? Haven't checked that yet 🤷🏼
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet the EU ver has no parabens while the US has parabens
I wasn't aware of that. I mainly use the EU versions.
Plz mam tell me about aha aba peeling solution when I use solution it didn't give me any result and its red colour remain onto my skin plz tell me is this real or not
Plz
If you haven't bought it from an authentic retailer, you cannot determine if it is real or fake. But for how long have you been using the solution, and why do you use it? What do you want to improve? 🤔
Très cool
I use this but how do I remove blackheads off my nose
Use a tool to extract them.
Hi , I love your videos but I have a question. What’s the difference between the cream and lotion CeraVe? (Moisturizer)
The cream is for dry to very dry skin, and the lotion is for dry to normal. So the main difference is that the cream is much heavier on the skin.
Cool merci
Hello i have face oil tell me if i use this
You can use both or just use one. If you have a plant oil, use it before the CeraVe Moisturizer or mix 3-4drops with a bean-sized amount of moisturizer and apply it all over your face and neck.
Is it ok for sensitive and acne-prone skin???
If you have a dryer skin yes. Otherwise use the Ultra Light PM Lotion.
Super produits
I have this weird issue where the Cerave itself doesn't have any smell in the bottle and even after I apply it. But after about 10 mins I get this weird smell on my face. Should I stop using this and switch to other moisturizer?
What weird smell does it have?
What else do you use?

hi a question my moisturizing lotion has 25spd is it ok for me to use it at night too?
is the Cetaphil pro acne prone oil-free moisturizing lotion SPF25
I recommend using a moisturizer without SPF. You do not need SPF during night time :)

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thx for replying :)
@@yanbin4548 Hmm, I am concerned about all the chemicals, which you for sure do not need during the night, and also, it does not feel good on the skin. I cannot think of any positive aspects; therefore, no don't use it.
How long we can use this whole bottle?
Good question; it does not have a period after opening and no expiration date on the packaging 🤔 That's weird 🙄
I got so scared I wasn’t supposed to use this on my face! i thought I got the one specifically for faces but I guess it’s normal
Yes, that's fine! :)

please help i can't get the pump from the body lotion to work, like, to go down. 😭☠️
Yes, sometimes it does not work well, and a few faulty bottles! You can take it out, turn it a bit, or even pump or pull it; sometimes, that solves the issue. If not, you have a faulty bottle, and you need to ask for a replacement/refund!

Hello mellisa great content. I have dry/normal sensitive dehyrated skin ans i recently started using cerave. I use the cerave hyrdating cleanser then i used the cerave am lotion. I recently bought the cerave moisturizing lotion for dry to very dry skin. How can i use all of them together. Is it okay to mix the am lotion with the moisturizing lotion in the morning and use them together or what should i do to see better results?
Hey! :)
So, the CeraVe AM lotion has already SPF in it. If you need something richer, I recommend just using the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion and then layer a separate sunscreen on top during the day. Stop using the AM lotion. And in the evening, after cleansing, just use the Moisturizing Lotion.
Can i use this lotion evening?
Yes you can

Hey! :)
I'm not sure if I understand this correctly, but are you referring to CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser? If so, yes, it's a cleanser and not a cream, haha😅
Cool
Hi, how would you compare it to cetaphil daily advance ultra face and body lotion overall and relating to 'before makeupe'? Tnx
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I've watched it too :) Tnx
In my country, there is Cetaphil 24h face and body version, but I've got sample of 'only body' version ( inci is the same with the exception of quantity of specific ingredient maybe- I don't know): I don't use primers (I tried one) and it reminds me of primer. If your skin is dehydrated, it is not enough, maybe to put it after richer moisturiser to lock everything in before makeup. I'll try it that way.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Why do you prefer Cetaphil over Cerave?
@@fratini. Yes, you can. You can also just add a couple of drops to the moisturizer, mix it and apply it all over your face/neck if you are worried about it so that your skin can adjust to the product! I often do that to see how it reacts.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Now I feel less worried.
Great tips. Thanks!

Yes, you can use that one or CeraVe's PM Moisturizing Lotion (that's the one I prefer). You can also use CeraVe's moisturizer(s) after The Ordinary products, that's fine too! :) No, you do not need to rinse off The Ordinary products before applying the moisturizer. Leave them on the skin.
