  • Video was taken early 2024. A bit more than 5 inches of snow on the ground, first test with some fpv video (more of this coming next winter!)
Send me an email (in my channel description) to purchase files and have your own ready for this coming winter, but please note this design is still in testing!

This project began a year ago, but started a few months ago, while waiting to come across a pre-designed, ~1/10th scale tank/robot chassis that was able to be 3D printed. This project is still in development, please like and subscribe if you're interested so you don't miss the many more videos coming out soon!
The chassis of my design was thanks to ‪@HowToMechatronics‬ , who designed and built an amazing robotic tank! Here are links to the build video of his tank, downloadable plans (that were free, but are now a few dollars), and amazing step-by-step instructions:

After completing a RC model conversion of a 1/16th scale snowcat (which I have not posted yet!), I loved the design and wanted to mount a blower to the front. Unfortunately, there were no pre-made designs for a snowcat cab in 1/10th scale, so I quickly modeled my own. The designing of the chassis and cab, which features an interior, over 30 lights, custom lifting servo mounts for the snowblower, removable ultra-clear windshield, and openable doors, rear hatch, and side compartment, took about 2 months.
The 5 sections of the cab unfortunately did not print the same colour, likely due to slight deviations in print environment temperature. Almost everything lined up the first try, minus the doors and part of the main cab. It took almost a month just to print and assemble the chassis, cab, and the Spyker Workshops 1X snowblower. The filament I used was Duramic PLA+, it works really well, link below!

Nonetheless, ignoring the mismatched colours, it looks amazing, works very well, and is 1 of 1! This is the first item I have ever designed, and could use some work. For the electronics, I am using a FlySky 10ch transmitter and receiver, 2 x ISDT 90A ESCs, 2 x 35KG servos for lifting the front mount, and the brushed motors recommended in the tracked tank plans from ‪@HowToMechatronics‬.
The snowcat is powered by 2 x Zeee 3s 5500mah LiPo batteries. The main LEDs in the roof are GT Power high powered LEDs. These were on AliExpress for very cheap, but have risen significantly in price. The other LEDs were 5mm, and wired to a micro controller with a few different functions. I made holes in the main chassis for LEDs as well, but have not installed any yet. The rotating emergency lights on the top have many functions and really make the build come alive at night! They are 1.3cm wide and about 1.5cm tall. Links to all items below:

Most hardware used to assemble the cab was left over from the construction of the tracked tank chassis. The main cab portions were glued together with CA glue, and had small tabs to ensure all parts lined up well. The rear hatch, both doors, and both side panels were all printed separately and attached to the cab using small M2 screws. The plastic for the windows and doors were found around my home from packages and such. The front window is held on by these M2 screws as well, so that its easily removable for future upgrades. Hardware and glue linked below:

Cool video! Works like a mini robot and keeps you warm and dry at the same time.

Where do you live that you still have snow or is this an earlier video when you did have snow. Also how does it work when you have wet snow or ice does it bog down or does it just go right through and also do you spray your auger and all the parts of your snowblower non-stick chemical

Haha older video, I live in central Canada and the snow melted early this year. The snowblower does only work in dry powder, unfortunately. It definitely has the power to go through both, but it was not designed for that kind of snow. Some non-stick sprays might work, I haven’t tried any yet. If you have powder on the ground tho, it likely won’t be sticking anyways! The older design did have jagged edges on the augur blades which would have helped for wet snow, but the designer updated the files; likely for safety reason

@@RattlesnakeRCandHobbies luckily I have heated driveways so I just use my 4-stroke powerful blower to blow off the porches but my relatives that live nearby I use a heavy duty electric remote control snowblower that works incredible also has a camera on it front and rear but the silicone spray Works incredible I wouldn't snow blow without it just like I wouldn't drive any of my vehicles without snow tires on all four wheels

@@keepithd2010 Mannnn a heated driveway would be awesome haha. Those robotic blowers are certainly cool though!

@@RattlesnakeRCandHobbies yeah I have three houses one in Boca Raton Florida Juan and Deer Park Utah and one in Rhode Island and both Rhode Island Utah home all have heated driveways and sidewalks. My RUclips home has 100 acres and my Rhode Island House has 17 Acres and I have solar panel Farms that are hidden from the home the sun continues to generate power I also have two 24 KV generators one at each home just in case. Both houses are self-sustainable so I don't need any utilities water or anything as a matter of fact the electric company pays me. The nice thing about the remote control commercial snowblower that I have that is the 32 inches wide bye 30 inches deep is that I put sensors all the way around it and added a program that allows me to add up to 100 driveways and a automatically snow blowers the shortest distance to save battery life and where the snow is going to be thrown. I am too busy well my wife and I are too busy so I gave my nephew the business with my F-250 truck and the snow blower automatically goes up the ramps into the back of the bed and added some shovels just in case. I was thinking about putting a salt spreader on it but my nephew can do that after the snow blower the driveway. I also have a generator on the truck so the snowblower is being charged in between jobs but it really doesn't need it as last of pretty long time and it is a very strong two-stage snowblower with very bright lights and it has tracks instead of Wheels. Oh not to change the subject but all three of my houses are heated from the floor as that is the most efficient way to heat your home and you also don't have cold feet on the tile which we have a lot of. The driveway heating system is on a thermostat which is set at 36° so this way it has time to heat up as the temperature goes below 32° just in case it starts to snow and because my house has a perimeter sensor it knows if it is snowing or not and it is not snowing it will shut off to save energy. My two solar Farms and the three turbine fans power my entire home and my home in Utah is 7200 square feet and my Rhode Island House is 5800 square feet. Because I am never at the Boca Raton house I only have four 6 ft turbo fans hidden between the palm trees as having solar panels is not aesthetically appealing even though I do have an acre and a half. I only stay there a month a year year for Christmas and New Year's and then my wife and I go to Utah until the end of March or until there's no more snow to play with my motor toys. I have 2 Can-Am two brand new Can-Am are R's that came out this year and I sold my
old X3's but I still have 2 4 setter and 1 6 seater Polaris. All of them are on tracks because we get so much snow that we would never get anywhere with wheels and having a hundred acres we really go in the backcountry so it is really fun. This February I finally finished having my contractors build my two bedroom with a loft Log Cabin with a porch that is attached to the entire home and that log cabin is also self-sustainable. Not only do I have an early warning perimeter events but we also have a 5 ft electric fence because of the Bears and believe it or not they are out in the winter. Bears do not permanently hibernate they are in a lux state get up from time to time and roam around. A lot of people say that bears hibernate but if you ever went up to a brown bear a grizzly bear or even a black bear and thinking they were asleep and touched one by the time you realized it you would be mauled that's how fast they are and like I said they don't fully hibernate only the black bear really hibernates but there's not many animals that would take the chance anyway is the hibernated because if they got up the wolf or any creature would be dead.
