I expect, after a year, Kevin will become the first in the world in the rc hobby. He shoots movies with all his heart, laughs, teaches, breaks, mends, and gives everything he owns to his friends who are with him. You really revived the hobby again throughout the world.
RWD drift cars are the most fun I've had in RC. They are cheap to run and there is a great group local to me that runs twice a week. We are also hosting a regional series in the Super Drift Nationals with the first round coming in less than a month.
About time you had some proper drift content...loved it Just as a side not every MST rtr is actually driven by a tester in the factory before they are shipped
oh thats cool. i got lured in by the 2.0 kits on sale at $113, been a fun build, got a carbon chassis, bl120 w 10.5t HW. Now i just need to learn how to drift...maybe i shouldve gone for a better gyro than the $30 skyRC.
Nice to see you finally trying RWD drift :) MST RMX 2.0 RTR (there's a 2.5 RTR out now) is a great starter car, however, it is tuned for low-friction surfaces, such as polished concrete or p-tile. Your local track runs carpet, so that's why it was lacking power/speed and didn't handle as nicely as the cars of local people. Vinnie went with a more track-specific set-up, though. He must've done his research! I would love to see you getting some upgrades and tuning the car for your local track, and then trying again. Maybe even join a competition!
From that camera angle it was riding in the passenger seat and going 100 mph. That was an excellent race film. I've never seen such good footage from a camera so small, it brought realism into the race.
I'd absolutely love to see more of you drifting. Just started catching the bug myself. I was actually looking at redcat and mst drifters earlier today.
Hey Kevin I just wanted to say that on the box there is some body post adapter so that the body doesn’t get as cut. Can’t blame you because I didn’t exactly the same thing. One thing I’ll suggest is putting part #: MXS-210644 which are metal diff cups because I’ve already melted 2 sets of the stock plastic one with normal drifting. Another thing you could do with the metal diff cups is burnouts the car has plenty of power to do burnouts but not in the stock diff cups. Hope this helps 😊😊
You know what would be dope-shooting the fog juice for the completed build montage through a little hole in the bench so it comes out from under the car.
You can see in Kevin’s face and in the music in this video he really enjoyed this one But hey who wouldn’t enjoy time playing with RC cars and most of your mates there with you enjoying is
I've got the RMX 2.0 kit version, and I love it, but in all honesty, I need to get some upgrades for it. There's a local hobby shop that has a drift track, and a wonderful group of guys that go there a couple times a week, and are very helpful when it comes to newer drifters.
hi kev! To make your car perform even better, you need to have the weight up high. That way when your drifting, there comes more pressure on the oudside wheels, giving it more grip wich makes it drift faster and easier to control. Also you can put the weight more to the back like the esc and the servo. That way you can get more angle. Also you could buy some turnbuckles wich make you adjust the camber. All these upgrades are available from the brand itself so if you want you drift car to perfrom better, now you know how!
NO! You want a LOW C.G. in a drift car. You do NOT want weight "up high". You adjust the grip of the tires by adding negative camber to the wheels, so that they lay out flatter as the car throws it's weight towards that side during a drift. You dont adjust that by placing weight further up, and upsetting the C.G. LOWER is BETTER, when it comes to weight placement.
@@davelowets the car can throw its weight to the side more effective when the weight it up high, causing the negative camber to (almost) level out again which helps with speed and grip during the drift
finally, after a few years. I think you will like drifting very much!! although I also enjoyed your 4WD "powerslides", but now the picture is complete. Many greetings from Belgium Kevin.
You can change the motor position on the stock rmx too, I own one for 3 years now and they are great beginner drift cars, you might want to move the esc to the rear of the car though for more grip. The higher engine mounting option also provides more body roll so more grip because the contactpatch of the car increases.
I would honestly love to see a viper body for this as it would be a super cool rwd drift car as most Lamborghinis are awd. Also why would you replace plastic with aluminum as the aluminum is just heavier and there isn’t much impact going on as these cars aren’t bashers or racers
absolutely LOVE your content, Kevin!!! I swear, I legit wanna meet you some day, even though Im here in the States I wanna do SO much rc stuff because of you man! thank you so much for the inspiration and entertainment, youre the best
Getting an RTR that's all set up is great, but I think you learn more by setting it up over time and finding the little hidden tweaks. It helps you understand the vehicle a lot better, too. Great movie, cheers Kev.
That's the whole point of an RTR... Gets you out there immediately, lets you tweak and learn, and then you can move up as you gain experience. If you gave a new guy a professional kit, he would have NO idea how to set it up properly, and wouldn't have a clue if it handled correctly or not.
if this is ur first time on a real track w other drivers that are skilled you did great, my first day at the rc drift track was figuring it all out but once u get the hang of it man it’s so much fun!
Awesome video. Great to see you all drifting. Very surprised how good your Lambo went. I’ve seen these on other channels and they needed some setup changes. Yours must be special, like you 😅
Needs time and after recently getting into it myself driving other rcs makes it slower to gain the skills needed. I find the urge to fight the gyro being the hardest thing lol.
Just got into the RC Drift scene myself mate. Got the same one you had but with the Mustang body. Really good fun. Make sure you bring that to Fam Jam....

Well, you CERTAINLY wouldn't want FWD drift cars, or even 4WD drift cars for that matter.. So, yep. RWD it is...

I like Vinny’s car better at least for looks with the blue BMW body also stands out more at least towards me.
