Just what I needed this morning. I always enjoy the transformation of an unpromising chunk of second-hand wood into something unexpected. The final effect reminds me of an Olympic torch, the resin being the perfect colour for the job.
Yes!!! I have been waiting to see someone put a light inside one of these. Just knew the lighting of the resin would be beautiful. And it is.!! Great work!!
Andy, even for you that's extraordinarily creative - and beautiful! I love the way that the jaggedness of the rotted top of the post suggests a flame. Enjoy the Games!
Amazing how some resin and creativity can transform what looks like a rotten old gatepost into something so stunning. Then the addition of the cable and LED's takes it to the next level. That would be the sort of lamp I would love to buy and show off in my home. Another stunning and creative way to reclaim old wood. Great job Andy
Hi Andy, I've learnt my lesson not to jump to ideas before letting you finish!!! At first i was like "nope, that colour is not going to work" and IS that another steeple part. I love the colour of the resin and WHO seen a lamp coming🤯!!! Love your work!!!
Hi Andy !!! Thar will be cobwebs. And they got all over the camera this time !! he he he It is a lovely piece. I wasn't sure what was gonna be created, but I really like it.
Really pretty, Andy. When you said Lava Lamp, I was expecting the old fashioned one with lava in a liquid. I was wondering how you would do it. This is much better. Bill
Honestly, it took me a second to understand your resin choices…but when you put the piece back on the lathe to turn it, I got it. This is a really amazing piece. The juxtaposing of the specific colors, amounts, and placement of the resin to the wood was well chosen. The addition of the light - from within - elevated it to a very sensual piece. Well done.
That’s what I’m talking about.gorgeous piece,expected no less.color is perfect for it.kudos to you sir.just keep doing what you do best.great video.😎😎😎👍👍👍
That was a lovely surprise at the end! I thought you were making a vase. The colours of the wood and resin compliment each other beautifully, and the light makes it look like there's a "flame" inside! Absolutely stunning!
Along with most of the commenters here, I was speculating at about half-way in; a vase? a goblet? Ohhh. A lamp! Your vision, artistry and skill never disappoints.
Now that’s a cool lava lamp! Or Olympic Torch. With all the fires raging in my state (CA) I also thought fire. It could be seen as a testament to the many firefighters on the job, though
So beautiful! I did not see that coming. Thank you Andy. Any chance of you possibly narrating thru one of these to tell us your decision making process and how you decide what the piece is going to be?
So here's me thinking halfway through. "That's an odd shape vase, hows it going to balance? ". I should wait until the end of the video and then I would know 😁. Very nice Phil
Now that is cool. A way to turn an old piece of scrap wood into something beautiful and so useful as well. That’s a cracking piece.
Thanks 👍
Great job Andy! Beautiful as always!
Thank you!
Andy, it's just amazing what you can do with an old gate post and resin, I just love it

Amazing work! What creativity
I just love how you can turn what is essentially a piece of redundant firewood into something so beautiful. The Olympic torch has arrived!! 🥰
I don’t think you know what redundant means but whatever yeah it’s really cool
@@pavloszimbrakos4410 'Not or no longer needed or useful; superfluous'.
I suggest you Google it if you don't understand English before mocking!
@@pavloszimbrakos4410
adjective: redundant
not or no longer needed or useful; superfluous.
"many of the old skills had become redundant"
@@randallmarsh1187 no redundant means saying the same thing twice like using two synonyms in a row
@@pavloszimbrakos4410 Yes, it can mean that, but it has several meanings and "geedee" used another one. Look it up and see.
What a great idea! That turned out beautiful Andy!
Yes!!! I have been waiting to see someone put a light inside one of these. Just knew the lighting of the resin would be beautiful. And it is.!! Great work!!
Would never have thought an old gatepost could turn into something so beautiful. A lovely piece as always!

I like the simplicity of the shape. I think it accentuates the wood. Great work.
We love you, Andy!

Great light. Never saw it coming, I was expecting a vase. Love how the epoxy accents the wood. Nice job. Well done. 👍
Surpris par le travail une fois terminé ! Belle réalisation !
We’ll done! Wasn’t sure what that was going to become, but it’s a work of art!
Along with most of the commenters here, I was speculating at about half-way in; a vase? a goblet? Ohhh. A lamp! Your vision, artistry and skill never disappoints.
Absolutely exquisite Andy. Beautiful work and a gorgeous lamp at the end.. Quality will always shine through 👍
Many thanks
Andy would make turning a sow's ear into a silk purse look easy! You've definitely got the lamp for some cool socializing! 😍🥰
The Oak edge looks almost burnt, and when next to that red resin, like fire when illuminated…such a good combo! Great job 👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome work sir as always 👏
Thank you!
GREAT color choice for that piece Andy! !! !!!
Thanks 👍
Wonderful desk lamp, Andy 👍. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻🇦🇹.
Many thanks!
Lovely! It took me quite a while to figure out what you were making. Very cool!
Very nice a great design.
Excellent work
This has become my new favorite ❤️🧡
It looks amazing. Love it!
Now that’s a cool lava lamp! Or Olympic Torch. With all the fires raging in my state (CA) I also thought fire. It could be seen as a testament to the many firefighters on the job, though
It's so cool watching the likes go up in real time. The wood stuff is pretty cool too
Very cool the colours are great
Amazing work, Andy! It looks fantastic! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I finally found one that makes a lamp or a light source and just a great looking bowl! Thanks for the refreshing video.
So beautiful! I did not see that coming. Thank you Andy. Any chance of you possibly narrating thru one of these to tell us your decision making process and how you decide what the piece is going to be?
The old gate post lives on and on.
So here's me thinking halfway through. "That's an odd shape vase, hows it going to balance? ". I should wait until the end of the video and then I would know 😁. Very nice Phil
nice choices of colors and work
I'm sort of hoping you made pens or something out of the corner offcuts from this piece. The hollow form lamp is stunning.
I must have this!
It's a resin pour project!! WoooooooHooooooooo
You turned that gatepost into some beautiful pieces. And here's another one.
Beautiful work! ❤
WOW! Beautiful.
Thank you
Beautiful.thank you for subscribersing
Very creative 👌 👏 👍
Nice job. I’m curious about the pipe / container you used to cast in.
Thanks .. Its extractor ducting
Nicely done
I don’t know if it’s fortunate or unfortunate that these videos help me fall asleep at night cause I don’t get to see the finished product 9-10 times
Should anyone be curious whether there's a Heaven for old gateposts, the answer is yes. It's Andy's workshop. 👍
That is very nice.
Beautiful
Beautiful. Did you use a pressure pot?
Thanks .. Yes
Really cool.
Light the way Andy 🎉
Excellent!!!!
Awesome lava like lamp
Goblet? Nope. Beer glass? Nope! Turned out to be more useful than I would have thought, and even more beautiful than I expected! Thanks Andy!!
Good job
so beautiful!
Really nice! I like that alot.
Thanks 👍
Thank you.
Here I was thinking it was going to be a pint glass for a beer. Nice job!
When I could tell it was going to show light, I thought it was going to be a sensor light.
🔥🔥🔥
I was wondering what you were doing there until you drilled the hole in the side, and thought, oh yeah, this guy does lamps too.
Cheers 👍💪✌
Very pretty!
Can you provide a link to the lamp you used?
sorry it was a fitting used for a campervan conversion years ago
Wow, just wow 😮
