As a south African, i think i have taken those things for granted. This serves as a reminder that we do have good things in the midst of other problems. 🙂thank you.
I know right? We take South Africa for granted.
We just need to change the Luthuli House politicians. Otherwise we have a lot of potential
It is pleasantly surprising, when it feels like our country, well, at least in my hood, Durban, it feels like everything is collapsing. Which is kinda is, really. We have more potholes/ sinkholes than roads... eish 😮😢
Everybody make sure you have an ID and are registered. We allll need to vote next year!!!!!! #timeforchange #strongertogether 🇿🇦🫶🏻🪷✨️
@ChurchyStuff in Durban I'm starting challenges between our different areas / communities for a competition where whoever takes the most people to vote, gets a prize, which I'm thinking will be a basket of groovy goods from peeps in the hood. 🥰🇿🇦🤙🏻✨️
@@Vitamin_Dwow. That's brilliant🙌🏿👏🏿
Just came back from S.A. and the food is soooo much better. I am not a red meant eater, and I ate steak there. I had no stomach aches, bloating, or indigestion. I will be moving there for sure. Has a ball.
Hi sisi please come back you more than welcome this is your home too❤❤❤❤❤❤
@Phila-zd3ps I would love to come tomorrow if I can. I'm working on moving by next year, God willing. Not happy here. Thank you sisi hopefully we will meet one day.
God willing and we will be in agreement!
WELCOME HOME in advance sis, please do come💕
@@nondumisobuthelezi4570 Thank you, I look forward to the day.
As a Durban born South African now living and working in the US, I learned to appreciate the small things about South Africa, the food, nosy and loud neighbors, fully booked weekends for days be it imingcwabo or imisebenzi, Sawubona Nkosazane vibes! Oh how I miss the sunshine of my homeland!
We miss you too Nkosazane MaZungu wethu ethekwini
"Sawubona nkosazana," that time I’m jogging 😢😅😂! Can be intimidating, the tone and voice! We need to appreciate our country better 😂
Food quality is something we do take for granted in SA. One of our banks were nominated as the most innovative in the world.
We should appreciate our excellent farmers more and speak out louder about the fact that they get attacked and murdered daily. To be a farmer in SA is the most dangerous occupation in the world.
Correction 💡
Don't* take for granted.
South Africa alive with possibilities, men iam proud to live in this beautiful country called home, you are truly South Africans now stay bless and stay safe.
Being from South Africa, I always hear people from American say they only eat organic foods cause here in South Africa we eat naturally grown fresh food
I appreciate you guys, sometimes as South Africans we forget what we have.🇿🇦🙏🏽❤❤❤
You are right!!! There's no place like 🇿🇦. I appreciate my home country so much.
Say that again
We should count our blessings- no calculator.
You need to leave SA first, then you’ll appreciate mate!
All this time we thought you had all these things in the States.
I even thought they have more than this 😂
not at all hahahah
I live in Canada. The US is slightly better than this diplingo called Canada
We are so much better hey
Thanks for reminding us of the great things about SA... we sometimes forget 😢
Our pleasure! It's a joy to be apart of
South African malls are the best.👌🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely 💯
💯💯💯💯
Yes,especially the mall of Africa in Johannesburg,V&A mall in Capetown and Gate way mall in Umhlanga.
Thanks Zuri Georgia USA
We have more malls than any other country I think
I love seeing SA through your eyes. I get to appreciate it a little more
As you should, it's amazing here
I actually enjoy this type of content because it also reminds us as South Africans that we have it good in a way even though we are not a perfect country
True about Our Banking we don't even renew our car license disc, the bank does it for you and will deliver to your Home address. The app even reminds you when it expires and you click yes. So I'm great full for my country 😊😊 Thanks for the Love
Everything you guys mentioned is spot on… I moved to the US 6months ago and I’ve been missing the convenience of banking, been telling my husband that US needs a FNB. Being here really makes me feel as though I’ve been spoiled back home with so many services available to us as South Africans which they do not have here. Been missing the food 🫣 the most aswell as the freshness! US needs a Woolworths!
Thank you for the video guys 🇿🇦
😅😅😅
FNB is the most innovative bank. No complaints, hardly go to the branch dont have to
@@realteawithsandy1366 Standard Bank is and not FNB, the only problem is that SBSA does not market their products like FNB does. When I inquired about that I was told that SBSA has adopted a follow trend strategy.
Asto
There's no Woolworths in 🇺🇸
Kanjani coz Israel 🇮🇱 and ameri😅are friends mos.
Aren't they allies or something
When I was a child we had Wooworths. They shut down in the US.
I really like how y'all see South Africa and the different ways the country is advanced. Loving the new setup also.
Most definitely, and thank you kindly bro!
Mrs Jones South Africa looks good on you (the glow is glowing)
So very true, I agree
South Africans take a lot of things for granted.....i never even thought we could have Americans coming to our country and see some good things ❤
One the best banking systems in the world
True
Yip! UK is a nightmare
Totally agree that food tastes different. From fruits to steak & chicken, it all has a better taste. Fruits actually taste the way it did when I was a child. Great video guys!
Hello!!! See you're here and get to experience the difference
@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNEL Absolutely Family. I've been here for close to 3 weeks now, and I actually noticed the difference on day #2!!! Keep educating people with all of the differences between SA & America! 👍🏽
Bring all your relatives. 😅
I stand in agreement with you also
All our food is organic no modify foods you can go straight to farmers buy your veggies n fruits less cheaper than outlets
Please do a video on vice versa. What SA could learn from US
That could be interesting so okay, will do
Supported 👍
As a South African citizen i thought it's normal about what u are talking about then I realize how like I am to be a South African citizen. Thank for sharing. African American we love u from south africa
The shopping hours will be adjusted a bit towards Christmas time.To allow people to shop a bit longer😊
ok ok ok nice
Amen to your point about the malls. I was completely overjoyed about a thriving bookstore I stepped into at Sandton City today. It was bustling with readers, had seating, wifi, drinks, etc. just like back in the day in the U.S. In Chicago, all the brick-and-mortar stores closed due to Amazon.
Exclusive Books, my favorite hang out in the mall. Here in Cape Town, there is one with huge window sills. Love going there in winter, basking in the sun and reading ❤
Rosebank has Exclusive Books I tell you.
Wait you are here and didn't connect.. what's really going on.. lol. Email us at dkujfamily@gmail.com
Was it Exclusive Books! 😂😂My favourite stores are Hyde Park and Clearwater. I'm going home in January. Will definitely be visiting them when I'm there.
@@nette2144 yes, Exclusive Books it was.
So proud to be South African! 😊
As you should be
I visited my sister in law sister, she was born in the US when her parents were in exile and she decided to live in the US with her Swedish husband. The banking system in the US really frustrated me a lot. I cannot believe you still do cheques, that made me appreciate more of my country
I last owned a check book in 2005. I am surprised that checks are still a thing.......in the US of A
hahahahaha, yeah we are behind SA in this regards for sure!! There's a lot to learn and to enjoy while here
I have never owned a cheque book
Qatar still uses checks, I have SA friend there. They were shocked!
Thanks for reminding us about the positives of South Africa. We also have very strong worker's unions...looking after the employees (retail, etc.)...
A good video! I like South Africa 🇿🇦 weather and food. Africa is paradise man . Thank you for informations and for sharing. I watch your video's from Canada.
One day I will go to visit South Africa 🇿🇦. Thank you 😁👍🏽
I've been in the banking space for over 20 years, specifically in the payment space, and I can assure you that SA banking systems are way too advanced than the Western banking systems. I was gobsmacked when I found that cause we grew up thinking the US and Europe have the best of everything.
Yip!
Our Home Affairs departments also allows passport renewals and smart ID services at selected branches of different banks... So that's convenient too
so nice and yes it's very convenient!!
Some areas have drive throughs for it
Just to add to the restaurant experience. At Papachinos children sit at a small long table where they put toppings for their pizza themselves.
We appreciate you sharing your experiences here in SA. I realize how much I take for granted.
Yes yes yes we did notice that!
My kid looooves papa chino the food is good and cheap
I just clicked subscribe after watching your brilliant observation of our country, many things we take for granted as South Africans.
Thank you so much guys
As a South African, I took for granted the convinces you just listed. I am all here for the content.
Me too man. I'm shocked actually.
I really though it works like that everywhere. Interesting to hear from other people
I really thank you guys for recognizing South Africa and as an South African born and raised I appreciate your rates Love you guys ❤
All the things I take for granted as a South African thank you for highlighting them.. I wish there was an App for our government. Eish let me Thul 🙊
Hahahah thola ngwaneso😂❤❤
Enjoy our beautiful City of Johannesburg with your little ones😍🇿🇦 I watch your channel all the time just to remind me of what I miss back home. I’m a South African currently based in the UK. I miss home so much especially when it comes to fresh food (MEAT) fruits and vegetables … and going for my monthly grocery shopping Sandton City and Eastgate Mall. I love you guys.
Oh wow.. love you too and thank you for watching. Let us know of anything else you'd like for us to show that we haven't just now
Yes, Banking system is the best, you can pay your electricity ⚡️, or municipal bills, or airtime & data or cable TV and etc, with Discovery you get more discounts for my domestic flights and 100% free gym 😊
Yes, true its amazing
the Sugar Tax was revolutionary, when I drink coke or Fanta from south Africa I can't believe how much sugar is in it. South Africa has free basic health care for everyone living in her borders the government understands that if we don't try and get food right they will pay the price.
Oh nice information
It is so weird to hear other peoples experience. We are so use to these things, it 100% goes without saying. Its good to see your country with an outside view. Thank you and enjoy your stay. I trust the locals are trearing you well also. You must come and visit. You are not far from us.
Thank you so much and yes everyone has been amazing
I am actually serious about the invite. We can surely have a braai and just have a good time. We will add to your exprience
Am proud to be a South African
Hi there I appreciate you family for being so honest and with South Africa
Being a South African it’s making me feel good about my country which I have forgotten to have gratitude for my blessings to be thankful for life and blessings to be in this continent which they call dark continent for people like you to come and experience what you need to know about your roots
I would suggest you travel around nine provinces but come down to Durban and taste really organic meat for there’s so many farmers especially with lamb which you buy at R2500 and they cut it in chops and portions that suites your family needs
Anything you need to know about SA there is something called short left for you to explore more about South Africa
All the best love and peace ✌🏽
Durban curry, the best😅
You can even send money to the cellphone number.
Wait a minute see we have a separate app for that!
@@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNEL I pay the garden guy and the lady that helps with heavy chores by sending money to their cellphones as soon as they finish working, and they can withdraw the money whenever they wish to.
The SA banking system is quite technologically robust. PayShap, the new rapid payment system will allow you to process instant payments within 10 seconds, to any bank account in SA - and the only banking details you'll need from the recipient is their mobile number...which is digitally connected to their banking details.
So, goodbye to 2 to 3 days clearance, lengthy banking details....and welcome to easy banking.😁
I personally love that you can pay most of your bills for utilities via the app including lights, telephone, TV licenses and other licenses and accounts. It wasn't like this a couple of years ago but now we have these things and most of us don't even need to go to the bank.
If your kids are 7 years older , please book for them for kids holiday camp called Suger Bay kids holiday Camp
Oh nice, thank you for this info!
After watching this I feel blessed 🥹we take so much for granted.

Enjoy. ❤❤ remember South Africa is amazing but reality like any countries, it might be frustrating and difficult to navigate. For us is home, we love it. Hope you love it
You can also draft your will through your bank (even on your phone), get job loss insurance, apply for your passport etc
Wait what?!? Wow!!!!
Wow, thank you so much, I always think that South Africa is so far behind technologically its a pleasure to hear different.
I loved the grocery stores and the malls in South Africa! Their meats, especially their steaks and lamb chops are the very best! Those AMAZING STEAKS are sooo much better than what you can buy in the USA and for a much lower price. It is also so clean there.
😮to the clean part😂. We forever complaining about our municipality

Malls here are 1 stop shop..you can spend the entire day there doing everything u need to do
So very true!!
We have a lot of potential as a country. We just need to vote a new party in 2024 elections
Yes, absolutely!
Having recently watched the Arte tv Documentary about Mayor Chris Pappas ( only 32, fluent in isiZulu) of uMngeni Municipality on RUclips as well as Mac G's Podcast with John Steenhuisen ( also on RUclips - read the comments), the DA is by far the most progressive, the most compassionate and the most experienced choice to take SA forward in 2024!!
There's no party that'll out do the ANC currently - and I'm not their member. SA has a lotnof complexities and the DA is failing dismally in Tshwane and only delivers for certain communities in the Western Cape. I had to respond since you brought in politics. I studied, lived and worked in the USA and Europe. Traveled a lot of countries too.
@@Pilane892 It's not healthy to have a virtual one party state.

Check out garden nurseries which have restaurants and children play places. Heaven
Indeed South Africa is a great place to be at, all Africans in Disapora you are welcome to make South africa your home. Infact many people who ever stayed here for few months do not want to leave. I mean Ethopians, Pakistanees while India is part of South Africa.

I can send money in an ATM and the next person can collect it without using a bank card in the ATM just a code, or you can collect in a supermarket.
There are some places where the kids can make their own pizza and follow the whole process of how it is made.
Can't remember the name of it, but near the Fourways Mall.
Papachino's does this for this kids! 🙂
Yep, this is it.. We have been there
Protea fire n ice menlyn also has this option for adults and kids
@@carolmashile7533The last time I was in Menlyn was in 2001😂😂😂😂. There was a restaurant with a big carrot at the entrance. I loved going there. Don't remember the name. Wondering if it's still there.
I wasn’t aware of a “sugar tax” in South Africa, u mentioned in this video. But that could explain why there are sugar substitutes in several drinks I saw in South Africa. Even in non-diet drinks. Beware! Most sugar substitutes are not healthy for u either.
Health wise, you’re better off buying natural squeezed juices (some of the markets like Checkers, sells their own freshly squeezed orange juice) then decreasing the sugar content yourself by diluting the juice with water or ice.
Yes. This is true I avoid sugar substitutes
Some of the cereals that have high sugar, like Fruit Loops, are imported. Hence the high prices.
Some of the drink provide different types of substitute eg. Coca Cola offered drinks with reduced sugar, sugar free, sugar substituted with Stevia etc. so you as a customer get to choose
Went to New York for 8 days. Everything was great, food was reaaaaaally bad. I couldn’t wait to get back to SA
hahahaha when you know better you know better
Food is really baaaaddd in NYC! 😢
This reminds me of a gym here in SA which charges u more the less u gym. Its a way of encouraging members to stay healthy & actually go to gym. When u start u get a 75% discount & the less u go to gym the decrease yo discount.
Oh wow.. which gym is that?

I lived as an Au pair in California for a year back in 2016. I had no problems with food prior to my travelling and living in the USA, while there I developed GERD( GastricEusophogalRefluxDisease) and had digestive problems as a result of the food I consumed during that period of a year. To this day, I still have that problem, but some days are better than others. At some point I was on chronic medication for it, it has since gotten better since keeping a good diary and seeing a dietician and laying off certain foods period

It helps to live in other countries, or even travel. We have lived in two other countries but we always long for home. We are back home in Pretoria. We do not want to move anywhere else. Working remotely has been a game changer.
That's why I may travel a lot and return right back home. There is no place like home. You don't realise this until you leave the country.
