Let us pray now. Father God we thank you for bringing these beautiful children of Africa back home, despite the negative indoctrination about their continent. We request that you keep them safe here Lord, and reassure them always that this is their true place and that they would be most free amongst their own kind in their own land, Africa. Amen.

Living outside of SA, in Canada, for three years has given me a new perspective and appreciation for South Africa. It's great to see that your family is thriving. You guys need to try the Garden Route. You can thank me later. Joburg and Cape Town are nice. The Garden Route is always overlooked, but that's where my family and I are returning to. George also has the city vibe, but without the traffic. Schools are excellent. The weather is great, and it is safer. Also an economic hub.
You also need to try the West Coast area.

More especially with larger stores like your Clicks, Dischem, Woolies, Edgars, Pick n Pay clothing, Game, Makro, Mr Price, Pep, Jet etc...

Thank you to the Jones family for their objective and unique opinions of my beautiful country and it's diverse people. I'm South African from Johannesburg originally and agree with everything on this channel. I only went to Atlanta through my connecting flight before flying to LAX so I at least interacted with some native Georgian(if that's a word) people at the airport. I lived in Los Angeles and Oakland for some time and noticed that SA actually has some advantages over the USA in certain spheres of society. I was welcomed in the USA and tried to teach African-Americans some basic SA words to connect to their roots from the "motherland" as they like saying over there. This channel is a bridge to our brothers and sisters across the Atlantic and gives real insight from real experiences so well done to these great Americans making a difference on both continents and giving their truth about what SA is actually about for those who were indoctrinated by the UNICEF ads I used to see on American terrestrial TV.

The culture in SA is centred around Ubuntu. People and human interaction is more important. That is why in the states you have people who walk into schools and shoot people, there is no sense of consciousness towards the human condition. How the human being is feeling and what they are going through. Ubuntu is very much similar to the principles that Christ embodied much more than the individualistic, Eurocentric culture found in Western countries.

Our medical care is cheaper because the doctors aren’t over-specialised, plus they are able to diagnose illnesses without ordering a whole bunch of tests. There is also more regulation here, and the government subsidise some medications to enable poorer people to afford medication. Having insurance means less people at the public hospitals, so you get to claim back any cash payments you make over and above your monthly contributions.

On another point having help in the house is very common in South Africa. Whether you live in Soweto or Sandton. Having help is the most common thing here.

We all try to create jobs. Even when I was a child, during school holidays teenagers would walk the streets and look for small jobs (piece jobs) and my mother wanted so much to give them a little job, but then the garden was already done. One time, a clever young guy said, please, give me anything. Can I wash the windows? My Mom thought about it and agreed. He obviously listened to my sister practice her singing lessons, and we heard him singing no, no, no, non, no, no singing scales and arpeggios while washing windows. 😀😀😀

The idea of people providing conveniences is not really about South Africans wanting to be served at all. We have a very large black population where unemployment is a very big problem. We support anybody who works, to help them - even someone who invents a job. It is taken in good spirit and the person is supported.

The first time I had powdered eggs in my life was in the United States. This was at a top-notch developer conference, if you were to give people powdered eggs here at such an event, most people won't eat them. Seems like they reserve the best food for the elite and wealthy classes. I noticed that nice clean food that I am used to is incredibly expensive over there.
