If you are trying to get your hands on a shadowmane then make sure to check out this video! This video will show you how to easily get a shadowmane tamed up in order to have one for all their awesome stuff! Using a netgun, and a little trick, that is all you need!!!!!
This tutorial is part of my channel for Ark, to help give you locations, hints, helps, guides,tips, cheats, glitches, cheese, the easy way, and whatever you might want to call these sorts of videos! :)

Put the fish in ur hot bar and go under water and it will also refresh the fish timer

@@SOULREAPER1621 As long as you have them on the hotbar yes. Alternatively you can make a stone cage in water and release them there and cryo them up or just leave them there until you have time to actually tame it.

If anyone is struggling keeping eyes on Shadowmane while taming, there is a taming tab when you bring up inventory.
Few tabs over it will show anything you are currently taming and you can select it. After you have selected it, it will make a visible beacon in-game that tracks the shadowmane even when it is invisible.

Nice...we were really struggling with these. Ill aslo add my own tip. Once you start to tame you can turn on the taming tracker so you dont loose sight of it

Guys i tamed today a lvl 135 in a cave super ease don t need guillie, by far the best way to tame it, when he lay down go to him feed him then hide yourself behind a medium size stone!! Wait until he lay down and repeat again until he is yours, don t forget to focus your sight in him he will try to find y, sometimes when he is invisible and stay still in one place go and feed him no problem!!

My issue isn't just getting the fish.... it's finding a place to actually be able to be able to catch them on official (pve) due to you not being able to place baskets down near enemy structures (I.E. pillars in the middle of a lake for no reason also blocking spawns) and that's not even including the fact that I can't find enough fish to tame one at minimum because of over pillaring. I know that I could just go unofficial but I just like being able to talk to others and then also being able to make trades across the entire network.
Why are you playing offline PVE? Just play and unofficial server which have rules, mods and active admins
@@crispay8304 the issues have already been solved months ago and I just like having people to talk and trade with and also I’ve had more luck making friends on official than in a unofficial server where everyone already has a tight knit group and are untrusting of new people
@@crispay8304 why not play official?? Really the answer would be travelling to a diff genesis server without pillars.. you can fly in and out of them so it wouldn’t be a problem moving around a new map.

Get plus sized fish, like MASSIVE ones. anything above 1.5x fish will bring massive taming to your shadowmane. (2.0x Coelcanth gave 40 percent taming on a 6x taming server). Hope this tip helps you out.

So if you have never used the "netgun" it's not actually called a netgun it's called a harpoon launcher and it shoots net projectiles.
My friends have been ranting and raving about it for a while but I never used it and when I saw this video and finally decided to break down and craft one I couldn't find netgun in any of the crafters so I had to do a little digging and found out that's not what it's called. Lol
Awesome technique though. One of the best I've seen.
YOURE A LIFE SAVER
Go for piranhas or use a rare flower near the regular fish, easier to make them go to you
another great video, but everything is so much easier when you take zero friggin dmg. make these without admin mode on and show how you do it without being invincible. and maybe make them from their actual wild spawns? spawning in a dino where nothing is, is easy too. the way these videos are its like "easyn to do if you have admin powers and already have the tame to clear out the area" like no, i dont have one shadowmane to clear out the area or admin to be invincible.
it helps to tame a quetzal and bring it to an empty location
the only issues with this, is u lose taming progress, like it drops to 0 each time it stands up(like it stands up n walks around a little bit each time i try to go in for its second feeding)
and each time u net gun it, itll lose taming efficiency, meaning less levels

Actually if you look when it tames he still had a 99% taming. Must have to do it just right
They don't lose TE from the net gun (or any kind of damage), but if you net them sometimes it resets progress to 0% I found.

I tried this many times yesterday.. both trapped and untrapped.. only in one case it let me 15% imprint but after that it was broken and wouldn't lie back down..Maybe WC found out bout it and fixed it.. Wish they concentrate more on network issues and bugs then fix this already hard tames..

I noticed they don’t target big creatures like spinos and Brontos but they also don’t attack carnos which is more P A I N

Try using bug repellent and even cactus broth if you have makes it very hard for it to agro also I think if you net it repeatedly it messes the taming effectiveness up I'm not sure thou but me and a buddy managed to tame two 150 male and female using ghillie and just bug repellent.
The tame should be fine, the net doesn’t deal more than 100 damage the whole video collectively

I've had an issue where on fjordur we watched it for 20 minutes, and it wouldn't sleep, there was nothing even around it to piss it off

you can also reset the timer by just putting the fish basket in one of your slots

Thanks for the fish trick but this isn’t practical bro you’re doing it in a perfect scenario where there aren’t any other Dino’s or anything.
I mean he DID say "make sure all other wild creature around it are dead" which usually is standard when passive taming
I found another bug with the shadoman, he and impossible to tame him, he hears us from too far away even when we have moved forward squatting and the same when he is in a trapped structure he cannot sleep or hits the concrete non-stop
If you own a skiff just tractor beam the one you want to tame and take it to one of the many tall empty islands and place it down now you have nothing to agro it but yourself
You can also put it in a built trap this way!
I was informed that built traps might not work due to it possibly aggroing on the structures. If someone tested this, let me know.

@Monk that's not what he meant - he meant that Shadowmanes normally loose their complete taming progress when they notice you

Yeah if it attacks and gains aggro you have to restart the taming process...

They don't sleep when it detects structures built around it. That is, from our experience they will not lay down in a big or small trap in day or night time.

You can grab it with the skiff, take it to a safe spot and tame it easy with fish over 2.0... thats how i do it 😁👍🏻
You can also grab the astrodelphis and pet it during you have it cought. ❤️

Anyone know how many full fish baskets you need in total. I’m thinking off having 8 full fish basket.
If you're new to these fuckers, do NOT do what I did.
On Fjordurs Asgard, I found a pack of three. One 150 female flanked by two lower ranking males.
I decided to fly in on Batty and get rid of the males (max female, I can't pass that up!)
I had NO IDEA these fucking things could teleport. (I never played Genesis)
Needless to say... I died. Too many times.
Batty died.
I got pissed.
I went home.
I got Bobby (my Giga).
I went back.
I slaughtered ALL the Shadowmanes.
How is he getting so much taming with one fish? How do i turn that up??

catching fish is super easy, just place a cage on top of the fish then the basket next to the cage, piranha work better than coel, and id assume salmon work even better Edit: Tame periods 8am-8pm
This won't work on officials, or anywhere that clipping is active.

You can also pick them up with a quetzal and put them in a trap
They don't lay down in traps. Tried big ones little ones ... doesn't work. Daytime or nighttime.
@@Ur0nlyChild I had a river that only had two ways in. I blocked off both ends with dino gates. Tamed a max level in there no issue.
We tried to tame a 150 and it’s taming would drop before you could feed it another fish. And all the fish were 1.0. Possibly broken?

It’s going to stand up no matter what. Everyone else I have seen the taming bar doesn’t drop. Ours whenever you feed it would walk for a min and by the time it laid down the bar was back at zero

If you're playing on an actual server, something might be wrong with your settings? Because me and 3 of my friends just spent nearly 13hrs on a new server for this map. One of my other friends and I tamed 4 separate Shadowmanes (2 each), and my tame only went back to 0 once, and it's because it took me so long and it kept agro'ing on other dinos and fighting. So yours shouldn't go back to 0 every single time it stands up. That's either a bug or something's not set right on/in the server. And yes, I don't know what Withering_Soul is talking about. After feeding it a fish basket, it immediately stands up, every time. Hence why you have to feed it then immediately get out of, what I like to call: "agro range" 😉
put the fish basket in your hotbar and go in the water to reset the clock you dont hav eto do all that
i dont know how you do that but its not possible to tame a shadowmane for beginners. i try it so many times but it doesnt work

This method is great if you just want one to mess around with. If you are trying to get the max possible tame, this method will not work. Once you have fed a fish, the taming meter instantly appears. Thus, any damage given thereafter, ruins taming effectiveness. Resulting in a lower tame bonus. A primitive Net Gun will always cause a min. One damage. This prevents max possible tame.

Tame the fish... cryo it and release when ready.
To further expand... use a fish basket to capture the fish, then release the fish back into the water by "using" it in water and then cryo it. You'll have to make more baskets to collect them again but you don't have a time limit and you can take your time to get some 1.5s or 2.2s.
I just flew down on my Maewing and pressed the C button and tamed some that way. If your cluster has baby/juve/adolescent dinos enabled of course.

ruins efficiency and also restarts the taming process. Notice his first fish basket given was 94% tamed and then 3 fish baskets later it was only at 46%? On higher lvl servers (where dinos are lvl 300) this will not work
The shadowmane taming is extremely unfair or super bug. I was taming a female, was at 90% and only 1 fish left to tame it (SP). had ghillie armor, crouching and waiting at 40m distance and randomly reset to 0%....
i cant find a sleeping shadowmane :(

No. It shouldnt as net guns do not do damage. In my experience with shadowmanes the taming effectiveness is fine with net guns.
Wish the tek helmet worked things would be easier to find especially the noglin

What happens if they dont spawn in ur game
They don't spawn in every map but if it's messing up, it might be a glitch and you can use a command to kill untamed dinos and hope for the best

Store the fish in cryo so you don't waste baskets.

Taming does start over if it sees you/aggro to you. I had some A-hole run up to the one I was trying to tame yesterday and then just ran away.
