Nooblets shows you how to build and use a ark Shadowmane taming cage on Ark Genesis part 2!
NOTE: 1/ When you go out of render range, make sure no other players are near the cage or it will still agro on the cage.
2/ Make sure you go far enough out of render range and stay there for 3 secs then go back
3/ If it still agros the cage then replace the cage tile its attacking and it will stop.
4/ If still agro, shoot it with a net gun once to reset it.
5/ If still agro shoot it with narcos and knock it out to reset it

Steve to get max effectiveness you need higher quality of fish. To get 99,8% you need fishes with at least 1.4 quality and it doesn’t matter the level of the fish and if it’s a coal or salmon as long as it’s 1.4 or above. Which is why piranhas don’t work anymore because they don’t have high enough quality
Yes I swear I too mention this to him in the first video explaining how we love his content and he has the means and talent to produce relatively short but effective information videos. However by taking the easy road every time just to pump out content will lead to falling short of the rest very fast
I've found anything below 2.0 will lose taming effeciveness.

@@elibrown6796 yes but I think his point is for one he revisited it to show a method of trapping it. But first using a trap that is much harder than just netting it and placing 4 walls and fence posts around it. And he is still using the worst fish to tame them. Shadowmane are boss killers. If you get a max level you want max taming and truly they are not you too hard to get max tame. Since you don't have to make kibble but just catch really big fish. With this in mind you only need two shadowmane maybe 3. One Male and 2 females taming them at max level with maximum taming effectiveness. Then breeding them but only after you've played the game enough to obtain or create 280 mutagen. That's what you would need to give each parent a 20% buff to their base stats. Doing this is the most OP thing in the game. Nothing stands a chance after that. I mean your basically done with ARK at that point let's be honest. Because nothing can stop you.

I haven't even seen a shadowmane yet... I found rockwells innards and made it quite a bit down on nothing but my tek suit but I can't find a single shadowmane. I am trying to not see any guides and explore on my own tho

Just go to the swampiest area on the map you know the place we're you will most likely be killed by everything on the map
Don’t normally write comments but thank you so much for putting this together, it’s worked a bloody treat! I’ve even added some greenhouse glass doors to the door frames in an attempt to keep the spiders and scorps at bay. Weeks of trying and this trap has saved the day thanks 😎🤗

you should use the net/gun to captures the biggest fishes before using cage . way easier to get bigger fish ;)
I tried using the net gun on phiranas and they break out I’m not sure if it does not work or if the phiranas can break out of it instantly. ( sorry for mispelling )

Simpler way it to get a wooden cage trap the fish you want by placing it down over the fish put the fish basket next to it catch the fish then pick up the wooden cage and keep repeating until you get the amount u want
Use a tent
For a fast and cheaper on materials u can also place a 2x2 foundations with 2 high walls all around with stairs attached on one side (optional). You get higher taming effectiveness when u use higher weight fish like 1.5x or higher

Can't seem to get this to work. It never wants to rest at all. I fed it once and it won't lay down at all on official.
I'm trying this currently and same story. It slept once, but I wasn't able to get to it in time to feed it. Now two ingame days have passed and it still hasn't slept yet. Have you possibly found a fix for this maybe? Tried searching all over the internet but can't find anything that seems to work.

Still works and it works wonderfully. I tamed a lvl140 and a lvl145 just now with this trap. They're a bit annoying to get into the trap cause they agro easily on it, but once they're in it's smooth sailing and a fast tame.
Remember people, don't use piranha ever on high level Shadowmanes. They get pretty much nothing from taming % and lose a Lot of efectvness. alwais try to use only 1.5 and above sized fish
1.5 are so rare, let alone above that..
@@alejandronero4368 its not that bad, if you turn on your helmet to outline everything then fly through the rivers with a spyglass it wont take you too long, and once you catch some go to a safe spot and release them then cryo them until you think you have enough to tame a shadowmane. Then throw them all down in water (they cant get cryosickness) and re catch them all in baskets

@@jacobperkins865 yea atleast 3 1.3 in every lake, 2 1.6 and maybe 1 2.0 but it’s definitely doable, I sell fish of 1.5 or larger on my server have a cryo fridge full of them

Add a couple extra walls on one side then you can use a quetz and scrape it right off like doggy do straight into the trap. Also i find Coelacanth above 1.4 are best. You can use a tent to trap the fish then the basket to make it easier. Leaned the tent trick from Seashell gaming.
I would just like to say thank you! I have never been able to tame a shadowmane before. I'm so impatient I always get seen and I can't catch a basket of fish to save my life. But finally thanks to this video got a shadowmane that I love so much! 💗
You don't need the bottom part of the trap you just need need 2x2x2 box and you can feed it through the wall, also no risk of it aggroing to you, also if you can't get it to stop attacking just replace the walls it's attacking
yeah thanks for stating this, i initially thought that the 2x2x2 was patched it was literally the best way to tame and still is, this is very over engineered.

With my trap I used I had to fly very high over it just out of tp range but close enough to keep agro and pulling it in that way

You can also do the cage with foundation and Walls and you dont need all this construcction. Fly above and let the shadowmane falling inside. You can feed it trougth the walls.
I remember doing this and it working better than with the hatch’s on the bottom.

If you want higher taming effectiveness you need to stop using piranhas gather 6 or 7 1.6 or higher size fish on your hot bar you can take your time and refresh the timer by going into water as long as they are on your hotbar this leads to much higher effectiveness

Not to argue but it is pretty easy I didn’t like the trap to be honest but just a 2x2 and 2 walls high the. Fly away come back you can feed him in the day and if u feed him around 21:00 he will keep going to sleep thru the nite not just day spent about 3 days figuring out the mechanics on this creature a real pain in the ads
I heard the the fish don't spoil in the hotbar but mine did spoil in the hotbar

It doesn't actually matter which direction you feed the shadowmane from once it's in the box, I feed them right in their face if that's the part that's sticking out.
The only thing to watch out for is not making physical contact with the body of the cat sticking through the box.
This has helped a lot because I wanted to tame a shadow mane on my genesis 2 server

Can you use metal structures equialent to the stone , to tame shadowmane? also what happens if it becomes night before fully tamed ?
if i dont have a jet pack, will this trap still work? like running up that ramp and make the mane follow you, then dropping down the hole trapping the mane.

Whoa!! For some reason I never thought it would be possible or worthwhile to trap one lol. This is genius! Can use it again for the 2nd one u tame too so feels even better. Or over and over if u need more than 2.
I haven't explored this side of the map much yet but imagine this right next to some water or close to, then ur fish timer wouldn't go down much or u could reset? maybe? lol not that u need to but just another thought

The problem is having enough baskets to tame it in 1 go is really hard, so I only do it with ark evo and taming speed effect on for 3x taming speed otherwise very hard to do, with the normal trap you can feed it until you run out then when you get more it stops sleeping for a very long time so from my experience in 1 go is the best way unless you get lucky. With the exo suit you can fly around when encumbered because the baskets are very heavy and you need around 17 baskets with quality 1.0.

This trap works an absolute treat... great video thanks 👍... friendly bit of advice.. use the smaller doorways at the bottom with doors closed...that way you get the house sign which helps you to not agg the Shadowmanes along with other hostile creatures.

I made a raft w lowered foundations the stairs coming off. Lined bottom of stairs with baskets and chased fish as tribemate caught them. It's almost fun lol
fastest way is to wear gillie gear, i found it is easiest to net it and then lay some fence foundations around it in a 2x2 and then do a layer of single doorways and a layer of walls above that (then go out of render distance and come back), as for feeding i find salmon of 2.0x and above work best (i think 1.6x is the lowest you should go for effectiveness), i generally wouldn't use any smaller than that nor should you use parahna.
Actually fastest and easiest way is to build a trap (like nooblets) pick up the shadowmane with a skiff, drop it in and feed it that way.
@@ChaosShadowX89 so your saying the fastest way is to go to genesis 1 run through multiple missions multple times beat the master controller and complete genesis 1 to get the skiff and then take that character to genesis 2 (well thats several days there) where as starting a new character getting a harpoon gun and net blueprints just requires leveling your character to unlock them (or get them from drops, either way) by the time you level enough you should have the resources to builds this simple trap after netting it, yeah i really think your way is quicker and easier.
I have it in the cage. It's middle of the day in game but it won't go to sleep. I go in and out of render but it still won't sleep

Why hatchframes and not ceilings? You can feed it through walls. Also i wanted to ask can you make salmon and coli attack with rare flowers you so you can trap them easier like piranhas?

It's much easier just to Harpoon gun it then build the trap around it. Feed it through the walls.

Obviously you don't raise it..
The heads poke out through the walls of a 2x2 box and allow feeding through the wall. The shadowmane is unable to agro you through the wall as no line of sight, only agros if go above the wall as in jump or fly.
The issue I'm having with this method is that the darned cat keeps floating. No matter if I aggro it to another direction

This is an excelent trap it work really well thaxs man note: you dont need to build the stairs if you can use the shadowmain teleportation

This cage still works as of right now by the way, it makes it amazingly easy. Tek suit is nearly required to make the getaway once it's in the cage without it teleporting to you, though.

@@snowylilacs7952 if you have a quetz and wild dino pickups are enabled, quetzes can pick up shadowmanes but you have to be SPOT ON for the drop in a cage this size, making it bigger makes it more likely you'll be spotted. But you're safe on the quetz and it doesn't take a mad dash in a tek suit so might be worth the frustration.

The fish itself doesn't matter, but the better quality fish will give better effectiveness as well as the actual taming amount. 1.5 + is the quality you want to look for to get the best taming. Also not you can refresh the spoil time of the filled basket by placing them in your hot bar and submerging yourself in water.

nooblets you need fish 2.3 or bigger to get a perfect tame. Syntec did a video on it.
I love these crazy fish sizes people keep quoting. I have 99.8 tames with all full levels and never used fish above 1.3

I don't mean to be a jerk but we both know you read the comments and well. There is nothing wrong with putting your own twist on it. But I wrote and told you this before at the time your released your former shadowmane taming video that it had then become common knowledge that trapping the shadowmane with a net then building a trap around it while feeding it only fish like salmon and cole that weigh 1.4 or above is the best and only way to get 100% effectiveness on a shadowmane. While you put out great content and information. What you lack is the dedication to be original and genuine to the point that we all know how powerful and long awaited the shadowmane is so none of us are going to waste our time using parana or building a trap like this when you can easily build one around it as it's in the net and then just hide behind a wall door frame trap and feed it without ever being seen. You did however do a great service in testing to see which animals give 20% or above when taming the noglin. Please your content is great but do the research or hard work it takes to be the first to design these original traps or training methods. And even if your not the first seek our the best way even after you have made a video to see if anyone else has a better way and if they do change it or if it's the same as your own then leave it be. But doing it this way is the only way you will become successful in the game insight information system
Use a skiff to pick it up. I suggested it to Crabbytron and she did it. Worked very well!

Taming effectiveness will not decrease as long as the fish you provide are 2.0x or larger. Size of the fish matters. Level doesn't.
i believe its 1.4x but i could be wrong.
The best food to give it is any fish that is at or above 1.4, as those size fish make it not loose any effectiveness at all. the max for parana is 1.2 so to perfect tame one you have to go for coelacanth and salmon, plus they give way more percentage at that size meaning less fish to catch as well
We've had people on our server not even have it eat salmon. They don't work unless they changed it recently.

@@giosgio yeah I dont blame you, getting the fish to feed shadowmaine has to be the worst part of taming them, although if you do find 1.4 or above fish while catching parana you can release them and put them in cryopods to perfect tame a max level later on
im on the last feed idk its bug or what my set is complete ghillie and follow the strats when i try to feed it the taming bars reset.......... tbh is this srsly frustrated
I cant get any of the shadowmane traps to work. No matter what i do...how far away i go or for how long it either attacks the walls forever or walks in circles forever never sleeping. 6 shadowmanes same result everytime.

Sooooo trap worked great but one small issue if the shadowmane lays down and glitches through the ground even a little and sees you show how it's glitches forever won't lay down at all but at the same time won't lose its percentage have one at 63 percent right now just glitched out not agroed anymore just walking in circles

i wished i saw all the videos abt the shadowmane b4 i started bc i would always get ghillie armor and just chuck it bc i didnt see a need for it
maybe equiping a ghillie suit after trapping in can help
have you heard of the shadowmane not going to sleep at all with this method? I tried to do this but the shadowmane wouldnt sleep. It was on Fjordur map
Love the channel love the videos. Trapped my shadow fine, snuck underneath and fed it fine up to about 15%, then it kept walking around and wouldn't lay down (waited about 1.5 hours). Anybody know what I can do to make it go to sleep again?
what command shows you the full stats window using the Spyglass ?

love your videos and you need fish 1.4 kg as a minimum to get 100% and to stop it attacking your trap just keep replacing the wall he is biting

To get 100% efficiency take the coelacanth or salmon in the highest possible value. (in my case 2.5).
I traped the fish with wooden cage and place the fish basket nearby.
et voila, easy tame ;)

Other than using at least 1.5 or greater fish I suggest a 1 - net gun, 2- (4) foundations, 3- (16) walls. Net the shadowmane then place foundations under him and build walls up 2 high ... Easy pesy. Leave render range and voila!
I can't seem to get it to stop attacking the box, leaving renderrange a billion times, on dinos, without dinos just going to sit under it to see if it calms down.. nothing works D:
I'm not sure the open understructure stuff is necessary. Just 2x2 foundations set on the floor, 3x walls all around and a ramp is all you need. The trap is small enough that you can feed it just fine as its butt will clip through the trap.
