Yep Mugen your 100% on the money when it comes to alot of our people just accept the hand me downs when it comes to representation. Was watching another video about this over the weekend and we both had the same opinion, where these types only find validation in white characters. Because he was talking about a grown ass man breaking down crying because they made Aragon from LoTR black. So it shows characters Static Shock, Sheva Alomar (Res 5), etc. They don't care or see them on the same level as white characters. Them can only feel represented/validation when they see a white character turned black and ignoring all the good black characters there have been iver the years.
Personally as someone who's watched this shift as a former comic book freelancer, the moment I started seeing Asian-fied race swaps of characters in comics, I knew it'd snowball into this fiasco. But who'd think it would've gotten to this point of absurdity.
@@headshotmaster138 pretty much started and became more prominent during the big reboot phases, but it gradually crept in more aggressively when comics were trying to emulate the manga/anime boom. But it was one hodge podge of influences that eventually made their way into the comics' narratives when the MCU made it more acceptable to accept it as mainstream now. To be frank though, comics had always some aspect of sociopolitical commentary. Some can elevate the narrative, while others become ham-fisted garbage. Like anything, they become products of their time. Sadly current entertainment has amplified the worst aspects of well meaning diversity and inclusion into the cesspool we now have.
We might not be going through this if black business owners didn't sell their companies to overseas and local monopolies in the 70s during Nam. Sold their kid's legacies. Still haven't gotten them back for the most part.

Learn a skill yourself, make your dreams actually come true. You don't need a degree or something else, you have every thing you need already. Just make things happen independently.
I still don’t subscribe to this perspective. First, beauty is subjective. Since we are talking about black women specifically. There are still western games (and media) that portrays black women beautiful. Examples: Angrboda from God Of War, T-Bug from Cyberpunk, All the black girls in Fortnite, Julianna from Deathloop, Senna from League Of Legends, Imani from Paladins, Yemoja from Smite, Jacqui Briggs from MK11, Tonya from MK1 (Look at other footage of her in the game, she looks fine.), Layla Ellison from Redfall, Homegirl from Mafia 3, Qhira from Heroes of the Storm. There also Mel Medarda and Shoola from Arcane, Drolta Tzuentes and Annette from Castlevania Nocturne, etc.
Peach brother, Preach! I agree with everything you said about Black People having to build their own IP and media because White People are NEVER going to undo the image they built of us to the world by their own hand. The aspect to this is to those who embark on the journey of IP creation is if you are showing Black People in a different light that means you are pushing against the status quo. Which means A LOT of people including Black are not going to support your product by default. Do not compare yourself to mainstream approved material and do not let the fact that the effort is going to be up hill deter you. Go into the task of IP creation with the complete expectation of success but don't expect it to be easy nor that you are owed a fair shot at it.

I find it weird because we had plenty of good black characters back in the day.
Personally as someone who's watched this shift as a former comic book freelancer, the moment I started seeing Asian-fied race swaps of characters in comics, I knew it'd snowball into this fiasco.
But who'd think it would've gotten to this point of absurdity.
@@ericfrancisco6615 do you know the years it began?

Never heard of this before.

A lot of our struggle today is self-inflicted, and I've been saying it for years, but I am called a coon for pointing that out.

I love your videos 😮
Thanks!
I can’t wait to see what you’ve been cooking at the end of the year. I hope you got international shipping bro 😂
Thanks, I am preparing for launch as we speak. This shit is costing me a lot of money but it's worth it lol.
Speaking truth sir.
it was a legendary video.
Thanks!
All is very true!
We would be so utterly screwed if these people existed in earlier times. Imagine thinking that you're not going to speak up and say your trith kust because you're afraid people you don't like might agree with uou. That's just cowardly. Like cut the shit out about not wanting to fuel x people.
Truth! Doing things on our own and being independent is the way to go. Let's stop making corporations richer like colleges and crap companies who abuse us and take full control of our paths.
Grace from Fighting Vipers.
Suddenly, women’s beauty mattered.
For those who are wondering why I support games like bomb rush cyberfunk and stellar blade? This is why.
Real dreams change the world
Peach brother, Preach!
Its so weirrrrd like WTH is going on over here smh.
Good stuff. I got nothin to add this time. Agree with all of it.
"Ugly as shit" made me laugh tho.
People really need to call out this with Black female characters. The moment they try to play the racist card, *call them out* on how it's racist to see Black women as ugly.
100%
I soo wish we start getting more black game developers I know those games would be best sellers
Let's not act like Black people weren't the ones who were pushing for this shit as well. Look at the people who work for SBI or other studios.
No, a special sect of black people we're pushing it. There we're nany black people who we're not on border with this. They we're just called pick me, Uncle Tom, Sambo, and etc.
@@crimsonking7179 Exactly! We got drowned out by these people.
@MugenLord that is exactly why I stopped complaining. People know there is something wrong, and some people just don't want to acknowledge it. So I stopped buying those games. I take my money somewhere else.
@MugenLord after all, they say I'm bigot. So, I act accordingly.
@@crimsonking7179 that's what I mean. J the concept makes a very interesting point on how there is no types of black people. The ones who grew up in the hood and the ones from the suburbs. Unfortunately, the latter are the leading black voices in this industry.
Atleast Senna from League of Legends escaped this uglification.
That's cause Riot still wants the skins to sell in Asia, they're the ones that keep the game free for us 😂
Those DEI black character depictions reminds me of racist caricature of black men and women during in racially segregated south in 1930's portrayed as ugly as possible with exaggerated facial features.
And you know what's sad about that? The DEI ones are praised by or even made by blk people, which makes it worse. There were some blk artists RUclipsrs accusing the criticism of April from that TMNT of mysognoir.
Are you saying the only good representation of Black people is if they LOOK GOOD? what about if they are WELL WRITTEN? do you only care about STYLE over SUBSTANCE?
@@bradstone2898 Well, most of the these dei stuff involving blk people lacks substance and good writing. And sorry we don't root for the 30's version of blk characters like you do. Some of prefer to be not used as the anti male gaze mascot.

How do we buy the book?
I will be launching the Campaign at the end of the year so just stick around my channel and twitter for announcements.
they definitely do black women the worst when it comes to looks in games, but you know what, the same septum pierced black women will applauded it because they are just happy to see black in a game.
I will give props to black men, we started complaining about call of duty never really featuring us when our great grandfathers and great great grandfathers were a lot of the men actually answering the call to liberate this country and, in black ops Cold war they had some barret looking character that didn't even show up in the story and Sims barely said anything... AND we buy most of their damn games. its was ridiculous.
BO6 we got a brother on the front of the box AND you have to play as him.

When did black men complain about call of duty? Also, you're correct about black women.
I hate to feel like I have to say this, but this is just African-American and American racial culture in general at its finest. I agree with every single 0ortion of what you said, but with each passing day, my respect for the US as a whole just falls to a new low.

Plus that 40/50+ black woman face

I made black women characters better than those vampire phonies like Disney and Suicide Squad game. Been busy playing Unicorn Overlord which had hot dark elves that would make many Western game makers look useless. That game is amazing. 😁
