Not the case, she commands Triforce Of Wisdom and had since Ocarina, that along with her magic cane/staff is where her power comes from and solving puzzles, she relies on Magic, not strength/courage as Link does. Your logic makes 0 sense, never made Samus gone woke in Metroid Dread video, that would be silly, almost as silly as this. Believe it or not I was subbed to you about 3 years. Close to halfway of the video. I already come to the point that things like this has to get worse before it gets better. Edit: D.I.E trying to normalize, gotten pretty much a year of representing gay pride(someone put up a list of how many days of the year the gays have holidays each month. I wish I kept the link), geopolitics shifting from west to east, so many things happening....since 08' when it all started. I can feel that were at that breaking point and it's going to be interesting to see what happens within this year and beyond.
The culture war is annoying at this point. I predicted that things would end up this way. It's basically a pendulum swing effect, where one extreme reaction is responded to with another. Forcing diversity onto the audience will cause them to reject it outright with enough time. Sadly, because of DEI and ESG etc., there's an increasing trend where works that have PoCs, women, and LGBT are instantly written off as being woke (therefore a bad product), even though their inclusion alone doesn't automatically equate to wokeism. It's a shame that if you try to point this out to some people, you get labeled as a centrist, a fence sitter, an enemy sympathizer, or one of the enemies. The stupid, cult-like "purity test mentality" that the woke has is growing within the anti-woke side, and it's destructive to the movement. At the end of the day, the culture war is just a divide and conquer strategy designed to destroy IPs and fanbases, leading to low morale within the community. We must remember the classic quote by Nietzsche: _"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster"._
Yeah... I still remember becoming labelled 'comicsgater'. I had no idea what even twitter activists meant by that or what they reference (I slept on whole gamergate). Then once the label journalists created became popular: they amped up slander.

My man COOKED with this video. This whole culture war bullshit from both sides is the reason why put way less time on social media in the past couple of months. As soon as i did that, my experiences with anime and video games became so much better. Plus, I became happier mentally with life. My dream right now, is for things to get better to the point where I can go back to the time in my life, where I didn't care about politics. We need more nuance, definitely. But what we need even more than that is people getting along with each other, rather than constantly worrying about "diversity" or whether or not something is "woke".
There is definitely too many grifters right now reacting/talking about hobbies they clearly never interacted with, and certain content creators that I feel are living in a outrage bubble and its really colouring their opinions. I was in KrabrutusRambo's livestream the other day watching the Nintendo Direct, and there was also people screaming "DEI Detected" over and over with the new Zelda game, while Krabrutus himself was trying to tell chatters to calm down. We've gotten so far into the culture war nonsense that people are having kneejerk reactions to anything that features a colored person or a female. It's frustrating that "our side" is acting this way, but as the saying goes: "Every action has an equal, but opposite reaction". We've been dealing with the actions of the left for way too long, so now its we have to deal with the reactions of the right (or Anti-woke, whatever) Repeating what I said over on his video: People have been pondering what a proper Zelda-focused game would be like for years now, ever since the accursed CD-I game was made, and now we finally have it, and they didn't make her switch places with Link. They made Zelda use magic and intelligence to solve her problems, which is completely on point for her. A game like this is proof that the majority of people WANT games with female protags in them. Its just that we don't want fugly androgynous women, Mary Sues and/or #GirlBosses. I get it, though. Nintendo has been on thin ice lately due to their Nintendo Treehouse division, the firing of the hack writer at Retro Studios, the DEI listings, etc. People have a right to be suspicious but we gotta resist having kneejerk reactions and jumping to conclusions. Thinking clearly and logically is what separates us from nutjobs.
The last I remembered....I think? Ppl were waiting for a zelda-focused game for years. The game fits her perfectly and it looks jank as hell so it's going to be fun to play. I can see this being a test run overall to eventually have her play in full 3D.

Female lead doesn't automatically mean woke. Female lead that looks more masculine than feminine is a very VERY strong hint the game is woke. Other hints are Male/Female dynamics. If men are all portrayed as inferior to women that's a sign of woken essential, and it's the biggest sign to look out for, but you need to play/watch a thing to figure that out

Hello MugenLord, I'm a big gamer and fighting game fan. This was an excellent video. I left the anti-woke crowd early on when I saw that many people in the community are just low-key racists who wouldn't admit their bigotry. One event that made me shift from anti-woke to a more centered stance was watching an anti-woke RUclipsr screaming about POC Stormtroopers in Star Wars and calling a Black pastor in Far Cry 5 "woke," "pandering," and "unrealistic." It was ridiculous. I also believe that not every woman in games needs to look like a porn star. Is it nice when you have it? Sure, but not every game needs it. Arguing otherwise makes that person sound like an addict. We all know how SJWs move, but seeing the anti-woke crowd making the same moves while claiming to be better is crazy to me. Especially the part where you explain how you avoid anti-woke people in real life because they are miserable, drowning themselves in anti-woke content. It has completely distorted their views on the world, and they see everything through an anti-woke lens. I had a similar moment where I asked them, "What do you like?!" It's such a miserable way to live. So now, I dedicate myself to being more nuanced and actually researching topics and games before reacting, especially with video games. I don't care if a game is considered "woke." If the game looks fun and the gameplay is on point, I'm going to get it. I bought SF6 despite the woke claims, I purchased Spider-Man 2 (PS5) and loved it, and I'm looking forward to the Wolverine game. I don't care if SBI or ESG is involved; what determines my purchase is if the game is fun. Sorry for the long post. I agree with you on JUST ABOUT everything in this video. I am right leaning myself, I am anti-woke. But I fell into that side of the political spectrum by chance because in my opinion it has the most common sense, critical thinking people. Not because I want to play team sports. But in more recent years (still right leaning, won't change) I have become a mix of black pilled and red pilled at the same time. I am seeing exactly what you are seeing where the right (most of which is anti-woke, obviously some is from the left as well) where they are so deep into the anti-woke narrative they become blinded by it they think LITERALLY everything that comes across is woke even when it is clearly not. And in a sense I don't FULLY blame people for THINKING like this because woke has become the dominant culture in the last 7 years. It's in everything, it's in education, movies, tv, video games, sports, even at your own job. Because of this it has made those minority of people who think everything is woke paranoid/schizophrenic if you will where it became a mental disorder seeing it everywhere when there is pockets of the industry where it's not there. For example with TLOZ: Echoes of Wisdom you brought up earlier in the video. Because there is a female lead people are getting paranoid it must mean it's woke when they forget Zelda has been a strong character majority of the series. It's like people forget she helps Link in most Zelda games to defeat Ganon/Ganondorf. In most cases with the light arrow. It's Nintendo of Japan people... the woke stuff has been going on for 10 years now, you could argue 11 or 12 years. In all of those years, has Nintendo ever pushed forced diversity? No. Has Nintendo race swapped Zelda, Link, Mario or Luigi? No. If anything they are THE MOST anti-woke publisher/developers out there. They just make quality games anybody can enjoy, period. The only thing I respectively disagree with you on is Stellar Blade. It was obvious the developers capitulated to the woke crowd in fear of backlash and intentionally covered the main character up. It is not being paranoid, it was clear as day. Thankfully they realized this and changed that to what was orginally advertised but nonetheless it was obvious bending the knee for a bit there. But to finish up. The anti-woke crowd (not all, not most) are becoming so engrained in their thinking they are starting to become like the people they hate: The woke side. and not literally woke but if you are not on my team then frick off kinda attitude. Having seen and recieved toxicity from both sides, I think I can say these people are just a threat to us normal folk who are trying to live without being angry or offended by something. In fairness, most anti-woke people seem to accept the Zelda solo game, and are defending it from their own side. (I rarely see that from the other side.) Though, it does annoy me anti-wokes seem to love demonizing Nintendo lately, which is ironic, because they're the least "woke" game company, especially compared to Sony and Microsoft. (Even Steam.) EndemionTV is anti-woke, hates Nintendo and used the PalWorld drama as an excuse to bash Pokemon fans and Nintendo fans, practically encouraging people to verbally attack them. He even insulted "Tears of the Kingdom" calling it "$70 DLC," yet he supports PlayStation and all it's DLCs, and it's $70-$120 games. I stopped watching him after that. YellowFlash an anti-woke RUclipsr made a video complaining about "Marvel VS Capcom Collection" coming to Switch, but not X-Box, and biasly stating, "Who's going to buy this on Switch?" (Um, does he really think the game is going to look different on Xbox?) I'm buying it on Switch, why is that questionable? Some also posted a video highlighting questionable things a guy at NOA said, and act like his political opinions reflect all of Nintendo, when it doesn't. Ignoring people at Sony, Microsoft, and Steam said similar things, yet they still support and buy games from those systems. I'm not saying Nintendo is perfect, (they deserve criticism on many things like how they handled the StarFox series after 64) nor everyone has to like them. But it's kinda hurting their side of the culture war argument when they act so biased, and like Sony/Microsoft/PC fanboys, and they may chase Nintendo fans off their side.

When in actuality, she held Sony, ND, that other team that worked on the port and Neil Druckmann responsible for the state of it.
I was a backer on Eiyuden Chronicles and I hadn’t heard the problems with the design. As someone who played Suikoden 1 when it launched I am not sure how this design would be an issue with anyone who is a fan of the series…. That said the English translations are a problem and there was some agenda driven dialogue added during translation, which is very irritating but hey they did a lot of irritating things when putting this game out at least things that irritated the backers.

I agree with you for the most part and relate to a degree with the frustration of the CW. Although I'll say that anti-woke people are a non-issue. Some streamer complaining about Zelda or some conservative influencer saying anime is s4t4nic doesn't bother me at all. Hell, I'd even argue that the average wokie is also a non-issue. The issue is the people that are behind the average wokie (big capital and some g0v3rments). Because you can ignore silly people and silly opinions easy (if you want). You can't ignore an entire infrastructure trying to take full control of culture. I think the goal of wokism was to cause divisiveness, in general, and they've done a lot in that regard. Yea I think some ppl are starting to lose the plot in the Culture War. We are starting to see the another side where they are just as extreme just like "Woke" side but on the "Anti-Woke" side. My whole stance on this Culture War scenario is that I want X character whether they are White, Black, Mexican, Asian, Female, Male or Trans to not only look their best but also be written in way where they are somewhat relatable.
Had to watch it in 2 sittings. Worth it. we're living in a world where everything is become more and more extreme and segregated. now it is more needed than ever to have more balanced views being spread.
Thing is in many places there is no fight needed. DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is going bankrupt sooner or later simply because of how the free open market works. Which in many cases is naturally volatile...and doing DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is only assuring game studio's going out of business instead of having a fighting chance in a volatile environment. You make a bad product and gaslight be toxic to your customers....then they will leave and not spend money on your products. I'm sure there is a market for certain things, niche markets are a thing after all. However such markets are small and bring only a limited amount of revenue. As a company this means you have too adjust your project budgets accordingly if you want to keep making profit. Instead of stubbornly making 150-200million projects and then pikachuface when only a select few people actually engage with it. Also DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is forced and based on tons of misconceptions and delusions. There was inclusions and diversity back in the late 70's and 80's already. But according to them none of it existed pre 2020. That pre 2020 was the dark ages or something stupid. Back then individuals actually brought quality and added to the respective industries. These days it has no substance nor quality and thus no staying power. It is self destructive and those people are only making themselves more unwanted as a result. All their actions are counter productive to what they actually want to achieve. As a result games like the Zelda example are now, regretfully, casualties in a larger war. The hippies turned into a laughing stock, the new age people became a joke....and these woke people are being made fun of more and more as they should. We never should've stopped gatekeeping. Now insincere vindictive toxic people, the tourists and their herb gardens (echo chambers), infiltrated our hobbies and industries. Education has been devalued and destroyed the quality, movies are garbage, game industry has turned for the worse, politicians and officials are even more corrupt than usual.... we need to bring back old school restrictions. They weren't perfect, but at least it didn't set us all back a 100+ years of our development. Hate and segregation hasn't been this bad since mid last century.

There needs to be a middle ground between pro-woke and anti-woke, and there can be. However, the problem is that both groups mostly consist of prideful bullies and zealots that seek their agendas to be reality. To be fully anti-woke is to not enjoy anything in life, which leads to be fully closed minded and having nonsensical banter. This whole war against DEI propaganda has doctrinated some individuals to accused this form of media or that form of media on the smallest things. You would have to never have a life to know that diversity, female leads, LGBT, and others had existed before any Millennial or Gen Z was born. It's really making people who are open minded to look awful, especially for movements that seek a media to be given a censorship option.
About the Stellar Blade situation. It's very unlikely that the outfits were censored. It's much more likely that the outfits were changed to avoid being sued by clothing companies since the devs copied some outfit designs from them. As someone who aspires to be a developer, I was letting this culture war shit stifle my creativity when I first started getting into creating my characters. I was worrying about an audience that may or may not exist. Then, I was developing doubts and be second guessing myself. Then I came to a conclusion to not care anymore and people can take it or leave it. I create what I want to make. All I care about is making dope games and successors of games I enjoyed that aren't being made anymore or that needs some serious competition. So to any developer out there that may need to see this; don't let this crap get to you. If your stuff ends up niche, let it be niche. But be true to your vision and continue to make your own projects you're passionate about. Its already hard enough to worry about developing a product you're a fan of. Don't add more stress to the process.
Don't let this culture war bother with your creativity. Create the characters you want and allow their story and design do all the talking. People will support good characters when they are good characters. If others still believe it's woke, then it's an inner problem with them and it ain't nothing you can do about it.

This is a great video. I was all in on all the anti-woke channels, but I’ve been completely falling out of respect for them over the past few years to the point where I‘ve unsubbed from almost all them with a few exceptions. The cheap rage bait so many of them are churning out has become increasingly obvious and most of the content is so overwhelmingly bad faith that I just can’t sit through it anymore. The problem is that so many of them are so desperate to win the culture war that they adopt ‘woke’ tactics, using their perceived moral high ground as a rationalization for it. They think everything is fair game so long as it will give them a win. While I still think the ‘woke’ side is significantly worse than the anti-woke side, I don’t think that will last forever. Personally, I get the sense that even when wokism is removed from the mainstream, many of the anti-woke are not going to abandon the tactics they adopted. They’re going to make giant asses of themselves by taking swings at a woke boogeyman long defeated, and this is going to result in them becoming the new public enemy, which we can already see the early signs of. At that point, the pendulum will come back around to claim it’s due. I think that outcome might be inevitable, but I hope reasonable voices like yours and the many others calling out the nonsense will help mitigate it at least a little. That being said, I’m throwing a sub your way.
Oh, your stories about anti-woke tourists reminds me of a nicher example. I have one foot in the Guild Wars 2 community and we have 2 examples of these too. Yes, ArenaNet is a very progressive company and there are several examples of recent GW2 writings that certainly fit what you'd think of as "woke". However, there are 2 instances where the anti-woke people overplayed their hands. - The first one is Livia. You take one look at this character and the first impression you get is that she is a black woman with the Skrillex haircut. THE Skrillex haircut. You know the one. She has an attitude too. She appears on the surface like every other diverse girlboss characters that done their haircut like Skrillex in the recent years. But actually, this was a character introduced in the Eye of the North expansion for the first Guild Wars. The expansion released in 2007, long before the year identity politics started to even become mainstream (side note: I'm sure it was a total coincidence that identity politics only took off after 2011 - the year Occupy Wall Street happened, those rich folks surely wouldn't want to divide us along identity lines). Livia's appearance back in 2007 didn't change a lot going into Guild Wars 2 era, she had the Skrillex haircut before it was "diverse". - The second one is Jormag. This is an Elder Dragon who other characters refer to with "they" pronoun. Now, before you jump to assumptions, you have to keep in mind that we're talking about a species of giant, ancient dragons that don't reproduce sexually the way humans do (by banging genitals together), or even reproduce much at all. Heck, if these giant creatures actually reproduce as humans do, they would be the dominant species of the GW2 planet. Okay, so biological sex is not exactly a thing for Elder Dragons. They don't really speak vocally either. Instead, they communicate by sending telepathic signals into smaller sentients' brains that manifest as voices speaking in the languages that these sentients understand. These telepathic voices can either sound like a man or a woman speaking, which became the only clue that we have to assign pronouns to these creatures. Right, so what does the telepathic voice of Jormag sounds like? It sounds like 2 voices layered on top of each other, one of which sounds feminine, the other sounds masculine. I'm pretty sure ArenaNet has an actor and an actress voicing these lines at the same time to create that effect too. So that's it. That's the real reason Jormag has a "they" pronoun. A completely fantasy reason. GW2 has another character with "they" pronoun in the End of Dragons expansion, and that one is a human. So temper your expectation. ArenaNet is a progressive company, but the 2 instances above were when the anti-woke tourists in the community outed themselves.

The people are just trying to push a narrative, ain't giving any nuance or actual research to the historical subject, not leaving any room for "we don't know", no IT MUST BE THIS WAY, and what's worse is you got people falling for actual racist rhetoric. You've probably seen it. "Yasuke is only a pet". People who say this are definitely pushing a certain narrative here. Look at Metatron's channel he explains it in like 5 videos about the amount of history that is not being talked about and the nuance being lost in regards to the kind of person he is. He was never some lowly slave, and this rhetoric is more ignorant than anything with their presentistic, or should I say, completely inaccurate americo-centric view of slavery where they think slaves were only cotton pickers who never learned how to read or do anything. Slavery is a lot more complicated and nuanced than you think. Yes it is a bad thing and it's very good that its been banned in *most* of the world (because it still exists, in Africa), but it's not all the same levels of bad. Also, about Plus-Sized Elf, it does not help that the localization name is bad (if I might say, woke), cuz the Japanese title is "Miss Elf Can't Lose Weight". It makes it very clear that this is about an Elf trying to lose weight, and failing. If they had a the proper title instead of using a loaded term like "Plus-sized", maybe the convo wouldn't be so bad.

This whole video reminded me of why I loved old school (pre-Krakoa) X-Men. The X-Men use to be about calling out both sides. They would look at the normal humans and evil mutants and could acknowledge that both sides had a point but they’d each screw it up by going to the furthest extreme. Magneto is just trying to protect mutants, but then he shuts off Earth’s Magnetic Field killing thousands. Humans just want to protect themselves but then they create the sentients who hunt down innocent mutants. The X-Men always had to find that happy medium.

Close to halfway of the video. I already come to the point that things like this has to get worse before it gets better. Edit: D.I.E trying to normalize, gotten pretty much a year of representing gay pride(someone put up a list of how many days of the year the gays have holidays each month. I wish I kept the link), geopolitics shifting from west to east, so many things happening....since 08' when it all started. I can feel that were at that breaking point and it's going to be interesting to see what happens within this year and beyond.
The culture war is annoying at this point. I predicted that things would end up this way. It's basically a pendulum swing effect, where one extreme reaction is responded to with another. Forcing diversity onto the audience will cause them to reject it outright with enough time. Sadly, because of DEI and ESG etc., there's an increasing trend where works that have PoCs, women, and LGBT are instantly written off as being woke (therefore a bad product), even though their inclusion alone doesn't automatically equate to wokeism. It's a shame that if you try to point this out to some people, you get labeled as a centrist, a fence sitter, an enemy sympathizer, or one of the enemies.
The stupid, cult-like "purity test mentality" that the woke has is growing within the anti-woke side, and it's destructive to the movement. At the end of the day, the culture war is just a divide and conquer strategy designed to destroy IPs and fanbases, leading to low morale within the community. We must remember the classic quote by Nietzsche: _"Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster"._

The biggest problem with this situation to me is that neither side of it knows what woke even is. Left? Right? It's all the same thing just with a different coat of paint trying to make themselves look better than the other when all they do is the same stuff they get on the other sides case for.

My man COOKED with this video. This whole culture war bullshit from both sides is the reason why put way less time on social media in the past couple of months. As soon as i did that, my experiences with anime and video games became so much better. Plus, I became happier mentally with life.
My dream right now, is for things to get better to the point where I can go back to the time in my life, where I didn't care about politics. We need more nuance, definitely. But what we need even more than that is people getting along with each other, rather than constantly worrying about "diversity" or whether or not something is "woke".

I was in KrabrutusRambo's livestream the other day watching the Nintendo Direct, and there was also people screaming "DEI Detected" over and over with the new Zelda game, while Krabrutus himself was trying to tell chatters to calm down. We've gotten so far into the culture war nonsense that people are having kneejerk reactions to anything that features a colored person or a female. It's frustrating that "our side" is acting this way, but as the saying goes: "Every action has an equal, but opposite reaction". We've been dealing with the actions of the left for way too long, so now its we have to deal with the reactions of the right (or Anti-woke, whatever)
Repeating what I said over on his video: People have been pondering what a proper Zelda-focused game would be like for years now, ever since the accursed CD-I game was made, and now we finally have it, and they didn't make her switch places with Link. They made Zelda use magic and intelligence to solve her problems, which is completely on point for her. A game like this is proof that the majority of people WANT games with female protags in them. Its just that we don't want fugly androgynous women, Mary Sues and/or #GirlBosses.
I get it, though. Nintendo has been on thin ice lately due to their Nintendo Treehouse division, the firing of the hack writer at Retro Studios, the DEI listings, etc.

Female lead that looks more masculine than feminine is a very VERY strong hint the game is woke.
Other hints are Male/Female dynamics. If men are all portrayed as inferior to women that's a sign of woken essential, and it's the biggest sign to look out for, but you need to play/watch a thing to figure that out

I'm a big gamer and fighting game fan. This was an excellent video. I left the anti-woke crowd early on when I saw that many people in the community are just low-key racists who wouldn't admit their bigotry. One event that made me shift from anti-woke to a more centered stance was watching an anti-woke RUclipsr screaming about POC Stormtroopers in Star Wars and calling a Black pastor in Far Cry 5 "woke," "pandering," and "unrealistic." It was ridiculous. I also believe that not every woman in games needs to look like a porn star. Is it nice when you have it? Sure, but not every game needs it. Arguing otherwise makes that person sound like an addict.
We all know how SJWs move, but seeing the anti-woke crowd making the same moves while claiming to be better is crazy to me. Especially the part where you explain how you avoid anti-woke people in real life because they are miserable, drowning themselves in anti-woke content. It has completely distorted their views on the world, and they see everything through an anti-woke lens. I had a similar moment where I asked them, "What do you like?!" It's such a miserable way to live.
So now, I dedicate myself to being more nuanced and actually researching topics and games before reacting, especially with video games. I don't care if a game is considered "woke." If the game looks fun and the gameplay is on point, I'm going to get it. I bought SF6 despite the woke claims, I purchased Spider-Man 2 (PS5) and loved it, and I'm looking forward to the Wolverine game. I don't care if SBI or ESG is involved; what determines my purchase is if the game is fun.

I agree with you on JUST ABOUT everything in this video. I am right leaning myself, I am anti-woke. But I fell into that side of the political spectrum by chance because in my opinion it has the most common sense, critical thinking people. Not because I want to play team sports.
But in more recent years (still right leaning, won't change) I have become a mix of black pilled and red pilled at the same time. I am seeing exactly what you are seeing where the right (most of which is anti-woke, obviously some is from the left as well) where they are so deep into the anti-woke narrative they become blinded by it they think LITERALLY everything that comes across is woke even when it is clearly not. And in a sense I don't FULLY blame people for THINKING like this because woke has become the dominant culture in the last 7 years. It's in everything, it's in education, movies, tv, video games, sports, even at your own job. Because of this it has made those minority of people who think everything is woke paranoid/schizophrenic if you will where it became a mental disorder seeing it everywhere when there is pockets of the industry where it's not there.
For example with TLOZ: Echoes of Wisdom you brought up earlier in the video. Because there is a female lead people are getting paranoid it must mean it's woke when they forget Zelda has been a strong character majority of the series. It's like people forget she helps Link in most Zelda games to defeat Ganon/Ganondorf. In most cases with the light arrow. It's Nintendo of Japan people... the woke stuff has been going on for 10 years now, you could argue 11 or 12 years. In all of those years, has Nintendo ever pushed forced diversity? No. Has Nintendo race swapped Zelda, Link, Mario or Luigi? No. If anything they are THE MOST anti-woke publisher/developers out there. They just make quality games anybody can enjoy, period.
The only thing I respectively disagree with you on is Stellar Blade. It was obvious the developers capitulated to the woke crowd in fear of backlash and intentionally covered the main character up. It is not being paranoid, it was clear as day. Thankfully they realized this and changed that to what was orginally advertised but nonetheless it was obvious bending the knee for a bit there.
But to finish up. The anti-woke crowd (not all, not most) are becoming so engrained in their thinking they are starting to become like the people they hate: The woke side. and not literally woke but if you are not on my team then frick off kinda attitude. It is becoming pretty apparent. There is even some RUclipsrs I am subbed to where they just bring up the same woke movie or tv show over and over and over and over and over again milking the subject to draw in more viewers for rage clicks. It's like we get it dude, it sucks no disagreements there but aren't we beating a dead horse by now?

Having seen and recieved toxicity from both sides, I think I can say these people are just a threat to us normal folk who are trying to live without being angry or offended by something. In fairness, most anti-woke people seem to accept the Zelda solo game, and are defending it from their own side. (I rarely see that from the other side.) Though, it does annoy me anti-wokes seem to love demonizing Nintendo lately, which is ironic, because they're the least "woke" game company, especially compared to Sony and Microsoft. (Even Steam.)

Some also posted a video highlighting questionable things a guy at NOA said, and act like his political opinions reflect all of Nintendo, when it doesn't. Ignoring people at Sony, Microsoft, and Steam said similar things, yet they still support and buy games from those systems.
I'm not saying Nintendo is perfect, (they deserve criticism on many things like how they handled the StarFox series after 64) nor everyone has to like them.

I didn't even know about that Eiyuden outrage, She looked fine to me. What i did heed was the translation Was SBI-ed though.
I was a backer on Eiyuden Chronicles and I hadn’t heard the problems with the design.
As someone who played Suikoden 1 when it launched I am not sure how this design would be an issue with anyone who is a fan of the series….
That said the English translations are a problem and there was some agenda driven dialogue added during translation, which is very irritating but hey they did a lot of irritating things when putting this game out at least things that irritated the backers.

When a game has so many characters it is important to have a variety. At least in my opinion.

This toxicity is worse, and based on the points in the video, I am not surprised with the source of the problem: narcissism. I think this is one of the worst things about social media, cause this has seriously amped up the inner narcissist within these folks slinging dirt at each other. Honestly, I say "don't bother" with trying to win an argument against them. Having dealt with AEW hardliner fans, who have this same mindset (with us or against us mentality, adamantly against reasoning with their supposed enemy, needing their peers to conform to their narrative), only thing you get is tons of frustration and possibly shave some years off your lifespan cause of the stress involved. You want to get into the arena, better make sure you have all your bases covered.

Yea I think some ppl are starting to lose the plot in the Culture War. We are starting to see the another side where they are just as extreme just like "Woke" side but on the "Anti-Woke" side. My whole stance on this Culture War scenario is that I want X character whether they are White, Black, Mexican, Asian, Female, Male or Trans to not only look their best but also be written in way where they are somewhat relatable.

Thing is in many places there is no fight needed. DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is going bankrupt sooner or later simply because of how the free open market works. Which in many cases is naturally volatile...and doing DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is only assuring game studio's going out of business instead of having a fighting chance in a volatile environment. You make a bad product and gaslight be toxic to your customers....then they will leave and not spend money on your products. I'm sure there is a market for certain things, niche markets are a thing after all. However such markets are small and bring only a limited amount of revenue. As a company this means you have too adjust your project budgets accordingly if you want to keep making profit. Instead of stubbornly making 150-200million projects and then pikachuface when only a select few people actually engage with it.
Also DEI/EGS/BRIDGE is forced and based on tons of misconceptions and delusions. There was inclusions and diversity back in the late 70's and 80's already. But according to them none of it existed pre 2020. That pre 2020 was the dark ages or something stupid. Back then individuals actually brought quality and added to the respective industries. These days it has no substance nor quality and thus no staying power. It is self destructive and those people are only making themselves more unwanted as a result. All their actions are counter productive to what they actually want to achieve. As a result games like the Zelda example are now, regretfully, casualties in a larger war. The hippies turned into a laughing stock, the new age people became a joke....and these woke people are being made fun of more and more as they should.
We never should've stopped gatekeeping. Now insincere vindictive toxic people, the tourists and their herb gardens (echo chambers), infiltrated our hobbies and industries. Education has been devalued and destroyed the quality, movies are garbage, game industry has turned for the worse, politicians and officials are even more corrupt than usual.... we need to bring back old school restrictions. They weren't perfect, but at least it didn't set us all back a 100+ years of our development. Hate and segregation hasn't been this bad since mid last century.

There needs to be a middle ground between pro-woke and anti-woke, and there can be. However, the problem is that both groups mostly consist of prideful bullies and zealots that seek their agendas to be reality.
To be fully anti-woke is to not enjoy anything in life, which leads to be fully closed minded and having nonsensical banter. This whole war against DEI propaganda has doctrinated some individuals to accused this form of media or that form of media on the smallest things. You would have to never have a life to know that diversity, female leads, LGBT, and others had existed before any Millennial or Gen Z was born. It's really making people who are open minded to look awful, especially for movements that seek a media to be given a censorship option.

About the Stellar Blade situation. It's very unlikely that the outfits were censored. It's much more likely that the outfits were changed to avoid being sued by clothing companies since the devs copied some outfit designs from them.

As someone who aspires to be a developer, I was letting this culture war shit stifle my creativity when I first started getting into creating my characters. I was worrying about an audience that may or may not exist. Then, I was developing doubts and be second guessing myself. Then I came to a conclusion to not care anymore and people can take it or leave it. I create what I want to make. All I care about is making dope games and successors of games I enjoyed that aren't being made anymore or that needs some serious competition.
So to any developer out there that may need to see this; don't let this crap get to you. If your stuff ends up niche, let it be niche. But be true to your vision and continue to make your own projects you're passionate about. Its already hard enough to worry about developing a product you're a fan of. Don't add more stress to the process.
Don't let this culture war bother with your creativity. Create the characters you want and allow their story and design do all the talking. People will support good characters when they are good characters. If others still believe it's woke, then it's an inner problem with them and it ain't nothing you can do about it.

Respect for keeping it real, I bought Stellar Blade because it did pique my interest & wasn't disappointed at all! Yeah, I defiantly agree there are a lot of tourist and grífters in "our side" as well as people that talk about things they don't know anything about, and on the internet for some reason you can never admit when you were wrong, I think it's okay to have differing opinions, but that shouldn't be an excuse to say blatantly ignorant things and try to pass it as facts. Now to be fair I think it could also be a sling-shot effect, where because people see minorities forced into everything, it may cause some people have rácist reactions, or out right stupíd opinions on things, even if the inclusion is organic and fits in the world lore. I 100% agree when you said not all women in fiction need to be 10/10 hótties, that is one thing that kind of annoys me about "our side" is they sometimes act just like the woke side, by shaming people that don't like their favorite type of female character, as if different things don't appeal to different people, now I do want women to look like women and men to look like men, unless it's parody or has an explanation, but yeah not all the women need to look like babés, they just need to look aesthetic pleasing. However I still disagree about the Perfect Dark's representation of the actress, even in the side by side you put up, it still looks more like her "brother" than her to me, far too much chin, but I digress, overall I more or less agree with you, the only thing I would add is the people on "our side" that act like they're Anime fans, but want to completely change the Anime culture much like the woke, but that's more of a personal complaint.

This is a great video. I was all in on all the anti-woke channels, but I’ve been completely falling out of respect for them over the past few years to the point where I‘ve unsubbed from almost all them with a few exceptions. The cheap rage bait so many of them are churning out has become increasingly obvious and most of the content is so overwhelmingly bad faith that I just can’t sit through it anymore. The problem is that so many of them are so desperate to win the culture war that they adopt ‘woke’ tactics, using their perceived moral high ground as a rationalization for it. They think everything is fair game so long as it will give them a win. While I still think the ‘woke’ side is significantly worse than the anti-woke side, I don’t think that will last forever. Personally, I get the sense that even when wokism is removed from the mainstream, many of the anti-woke are not going to abandon the tactics they adopted. They’re going to make giant asses of themselves by taking swings at a woke boogeyman long defeated, and this is going to result in them becoming the new public enemy, which we can already see the early signs of. At that point, the pendulum will come back around to claim it’s due. I think that outcome might be inevitable, but I hope reasonable voices like yours and the many others calling out the nonsense will help mitigate it at least a little. That being said, I’m throwing a sub your way.

Oh, your stories about anti-woke tourists reminds me of a nicher example. I have one foot in the Guild Wars 2 community and we have 2 examples of these too. Yes, ArenaNet is a very progressive company and there are several examples of recent GW2 writings that certainly fit what you'd think of as "woke". However, there are 2 instances where the anti-woke people overplayed their hands.
- The first one is Livia. You take one look at this character and the first impression you get is that she is a black woman with the Skrillex haircut. THE Skrillex haircut. You know the one. She has an attitude too. She appears on the surface like every other diverse girlboss characters that done their haircut like Skrillex in the recent years. But actually, this was a character introduced in the Eye of the North expansion for the first Guild Wars. The expansion released in 2007, long before the year identity politics started to even become mainstream (side note: I'm sure it was a total coincidence that identity politics only took off after 2011 - the year Occupy Wall Street happened, those rich folks surely wouldn't want to divide us along identity lines). Livia's appearance back in 2007 didn't change a lot going into Guild Wars 2 era, she had the Skrillex haircut before it was "diverse".
- The second one is Jormag. This is an Elder Dragon who other characters refer to with "they" pronoun. Now, before you jump to assumptions, you have to keep in mind that we're talking about a species of giant, ancient dragons that don't reproduce sexually the way humans do (by banging genitals together), or even reproduce much at all. Heck, if these giant creatures actually reproduce as humans do, they would be the dominant species of the GW2 planet. Okay, so biological sex is not exactly a thing for Elder Dragons. They don't really speak vocally either. Instead, they communicate by sending telepathic signals into smaller sentients' brains that manifest as voices speaking in the languages that these sentients understand. These telepathic voices can either sound like a man or a woman speaking, which became the only clue that we have to assign pronouns to these creatures. Right, so what does the telepathic voice of Jormag sounds like? It sounds like 2 voices layered on top of each other, one of which sounds feminine, the other sounds masculine. I'm pretty sure ArenaNet has an actor and an actress voicing these lines at the same time to create that effect too. So that's it. That's the real reason Jormag has a "they" pronoun. A completely fantasy reason.
GW2 has another character with "they" pronoun in the End of Dragons expansion, and that one is a human. So temper your expectation. ArenaNet is a progressive company, but the 2 instances above were when the anti-woke tourists in the community outed themselves.
Pattern recognition is a thing, but it also helps to keep a leveled head, I've come to learn.

Yeah I completely agree with everything you said. I've especially been super annoyed by the anti-woke during the Yasuke debacle. The people are just trying to push a narrative, ain't giving any nuance or actual research to the historical subject, not leaving any room for "we don't know", no IT MUST BE THIS WAY, and what's worse is you got people falling for actual racist rhetoric. You've probably seen it. "Yasuke is only a pet". People who say this are definitely pushing a certain narrative here. Like people getting mad about Yasuke attacking Japanese people (yes I'm calling out Grummz for this), even though these same people would call out the woke for being mad about Resident Evil 5. Was Yasuke a samurai? We don't know. Look at Metatron's channel he explains it in like 5 videos about the amount of history that is not being talked about and the nuance being lost in regards to the kind of person he is. He was never some lowly slave, and this rhetoric is more ignorant than anything with their presentistic, or should I say, completely inaccurate americo-centric view of slavery where they think slaves were only cotton pickers who never learned how to read or do anything. Slavery is a lot more complicated and nuanced than you think. Yes it is a bad thing and it's very good that its been banned in *most* of the world (because it still exists, in Africa), but it's not all the same levels of bad.
Also, about Plus-Sized Elf, it does not help that the localization name is bad (if I might say, woke), cuz the Japanese title is "Miss Elf Can't Lose Weight". It makes it very clear that this is about an Elf trying to lose weight, and failing. If they had a the proper title instead of using a loaded term like "Plus-sized", maybe the convo wouldn't be so bad.
Definitely agree that both sides are taking it too far. That said none of this would've happened if the woke side didn't literally take the whole western entertainment industry hostage of their crazyness.
I'm really looking forward to the Zelda game because it's exactly the kind of puzzle game i like, but i have to admit that when they announced a Zelda game i had a bit of pstd due to to all the girlbosses around.

This whole video reminded me of why I loved old school (pre-Krakoa) X-Men. The X-Men use to be about calling out both sides. They would look at the normal humans and evil mutants and could acknowledge that both sides had a point but they’d each screw it up by going to the furthest extreme. Magneto is just trying to protect mutants, but then he shuts off Earth’s Magnetic Field killing thousands. Humans just want to protect themselves but then they create the sentients who hunt down innocent mutants. The X-Men always had to find that happy medium.

That Jon Del Arroz video about the new Legend of Zelda game was awful. The man clearly was culture war farming and trying to create drama out of nothing. The way Nintendo setup the trailer with Link rescuing Zelda FIRST and then he gets sucked into some other dimension shows that Nintendo is fully aware of the roles Link, Zelda, and Ganon play. Also, she isn't wielding any weapons other than magic, which you know is something she has done for many games now. Lastly, the only thing that can be concerning, is if she finds the Master Sword and begins to wield it. I know Nintendo understands their characters and having her pull the Master Sword and utilize it will break the role she was created for originally.
