Ive never really been into gardening i sadly kill alot of plants but ive moved into our first home that we own and the garden needs to be completely pulled out and re done because sadly the old man that lived here couldnt maintain it. I stumbled across your channel about 4 days ago and ive been OBSESSED!!! I love your gardens and its giving me so much motivation to do my gardens but money is the only thing killing my motivation its an expensive job! Love your videos 😊😊

I'm happy for you and your first home. We can all start small with gardening, I think. I was afraid of starting my own rooftop garden last summer because I'm gonna move out of my parents house soon. However, Laura & her channel encouraged me a lot and I began with cleaning out the rooftop. Then I bought the first plant. Now it looks completely different and has turned into a favorite spots for dragonflies and bees. My parents love the garden too and I know they will have something to remind them about me when I move out. (Sorry for rambling on and have fun gardening ^^)
Nakita Martin Pick one area a season to landscape with fresh plants. It'll give you time to think about design ideas for other parts of your yard. The rest of the season you can focus on removing spent plants and amending the soil, you might even ask friends about plant divisions. That's an inexpensive way to fill out your garden. But be aware of invasive plants (Laura calls them "thugs") your friends may offer. Also, I place my hose as I visualize a new garden bed borders then edge around it and remove sod. Sometimes I stare at a space for hours before acting. My neighbors are used to me by now and enjoy the fruits (or flowers) of my labors.

Obviously, knowing about plants and their needs/growth habits are important but you also have an eye for the aesthetics. I find it hard to envision how my plants will look together once they're mature so it's great to be able to see your beds at different stages.
Laura there is always something new to learn. I have always loved flowers and watching things grow but never took the time to learn how to do it properly. Your videos and topics are very helpful and inspiring and you do have the cutest baby. Thanks.

Love it with the mulch color! Because I'm lazy I use compost as the mulch though. I don't have to pull it back to plant. And just add on top as it sinks. I don't get the amazing color choices but that's ok. I'm just a one and done kind of person because I'm old. Your's looks beautiful Laura!

Thank you so much for this video! I have a flower bed that has been neglected for several years and want to completely revamp it. These tips will help so much in undertaking this project!! And I will definitely have to check into incorporating the clematis ... I love their blooms and have never been successful in having the vine type. Btw, Laura is it better to remove those containers for perennial ground covers. Or better to have them inside the ground for easy management of ground plants. Help I decided to do a succulent garden in a large glass goblet love all the things you do ... all going good except yesterday I noticed mushrooms growing along side my succulent what the hell lol..... new bag of cactus soil and stones y am I now growing veg with my succulents.... I do plan on doing a raised bed for veg ... thanks to laura and her fab garden x
