Lyrics
The torment was ended. The people scattered over the country, desperate, leaderless, starved…... The thousands who had fled by sea - including the one most dear to me - all would return. The pulse of life, growing stronger and stronger, would beat again!
As life returns to normal, the question of another attack from Mars causes universal concern. Is our planet safe, or is this time of peace merely a reprieve? It may be that, across the immensity of space, they have learned their lessons and even now await the opportunity. Perhaps the future belongs not to us - but to the Martians
Love how the beating drum in the background symbolises the heart of London coming back together
I've never noticed that before
>Martians attack
>Win thanks to bacteria
>Don't reverse engineer anything
>Mars attacks AGAIN
>"How could this be?"
We just moved on, swept it under the rug.
Decades later we disregarded our history and deployed an exploratory mission to Mars in the present, oblivious to the consequences and provoked a reprisal from the Martians.
This time, the Martians knew how they failed, likely innovated on long term invasion plans and will learn from history as to not make the same mistakes again when we didn’t.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Anyone else feel like this should be playing coming out of Lockdown?
"The threat of another attack was of universal concern"
Thats been the case continuously since 2019.

-"Today is a black day indeed, the humans' capacity for warfare was underestimated."
-"The invasion has exhausted most of our resources, but a new offensive will be engineered. Perhaps another planet may suffice..."
-"But now... I must face the nation..."
Yep that ending.
Good work, gentlemen. Today is a proud day for Britain, and indeed the Earth. Well done.

I love the uncertainty of the future, the fear after this would be immense
I think it would be less like 9/11 and more like the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union level of trauma.
Richard Burton was certainly the right person as the journalist. Fantastic work
Okay, mostly talking about the original novel here.
What would happen next?
Realistically now.
How much of the geopolitical climate of Earth in the early 20th century would be changed?
What about The Martians’ second attack?
How much would humanity advance with Alien technology? IF they could even figure it out?
A lot of questions indeed.
during the 1950´s film, the director asked the US army how the classic tripods would fare against the 1950´s US army, the result was that the martian army would be wiped out with ease,
so thats what probably would happen Next,
The Spirit of Mars merhaps?

Also bare in mind, The Martians themselves would very likely progress their weaponry forward and begin using filtration systems to combat viruses & eventually develop vaccines.
It’s possible the Martians May return during the mid to late 1900s or early 1910s.
@@TGM_Productions The Great Martian War documentary
@@s_h_v1.0.87
Given how much of a superpower Germany was at the time (also keep in mind Britain would be weaker following the book invasion)-
Yea I can see The Martians invading Germany first in a second invasion- that would turn into a long bitter war.
(The Martians could send reinforcements every two years - when Mars & earth are in opposition.)
So it’s likely they’d send a TON of Martians to build up defences and keep occupation of secured land.
There’s an opposition between Earth & Mars in January, 1914.
So I can imagine that’s when a second Martian invasion (great Martian war) could begin.
World War I would instead… be The Great Martian War.
@@TGM_Productions There´s an hour long documentary exploring that very idea, goes by the same name of Great Martian War, 9/10 would recomend
Does the future belong to the Martians? The nasa ending sure leaves you with a lot of questions
What’s that
Everyone when the COVID-19 pandemic finally ends.
Strange whenever i hear this I think the same thing
Quite a coincidence it would be, considering the Martians got eliminated by human disease in TWOTW.

Decades later we disregarded our history and deployed an exploratory mission to Mars in the present, oblivious to the consequences and provoked a reprisal from the Martians who may have determined humanity with that level of development in space exploration may be a direct threat to their planet. To them, we were the ones invading.
This time, the Martians knew how they failed, likely innovated on long term invasion plans and will learn from history as to not make the same mistakes again when we didn’t. And this time, it was our fault.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
