  • After getting back from WA, Tess and I head out on foot to catch some more sooty grunters. We gave my DSLR camera and zoom lens a go with hopes of getting some nicer footage and did pretty well until it ran out of charge.
    Gear used:
    reel - Shimano Stella 2000SHG
rod - Shimano Poison Adrena 268UL
    lure - Halco roosta 60mm

Very cool fish action once again, Kjell!! Once again, all this beautiful flora and waterways reminds me very distinctly of south Florida where I used to live.....especially on the wilder SW coastal area. It was not uncommon for us to hook a bass, perch or bluegill (similar to your sooty Grunter) and suddenly get locked into competition for the fish with a smaller alligator trying to land them. The gators generally won out! Great time and use of your Territory's natural resources and thanks again for sharing all this fun!! Jim C.

Thanks Jim! Luckily our crocodiles are usually hiding away and don’t go after fish unless they’ve become used to seeing humans.

@@kjellhensen Again....get Ricky Mack as a guest on at least one episode and I promise I will help you guys really launch your nice site over here in the States. There's been a true love of Steve Irwin here and that great Aussie sense of adventure and preservation of all things nature and I want to help bring some of this back!! Jim C.
