I Went Chasing sooty & jungle perch in the fresh water lure fishing cairns

  • So i finally got out for another fish with ‪@samsfishing94‬ make sure you check him out...
    We went lure fishing in the fresh water creek inland due to the big winds and tides over winter..

      Im sorry but its very hard to suggest places due to the risk of crocs now...

    Hey mate I believe they are khaki grunter not sootys if you search them up they’ve only got a slight difference but yea pretty’s sure there khaki grunters

      I think your right that's so cool, guess there sub species from the same family you can see the difference I never new that... I'm new to fresh water fish so imp still learning all the species and difference between them but I guess I still haven't hooked my self a sooty grunter them might have to get back out chase them then hahahaha...

      Description: Sooty Grunter are popular freshwater fish in the Northern Parts of Australia
      How To Identify:
      Sooty Grunter as the name suggests, sooties range from a dark black colour to almost purple (hence its other name Purple Grunter). The Sooty Grunters fins are the same colour as its body. Sooty Grunter have a deep body taping down to a relatively small head. They have a small mouth with obvious lips. Common around 0.5-1.5kg but can grow as large as 3kgs.

      have a look around fresh water creek and crystal cascade and always remember to be careful around any water ways here for crocs they shouldn't be that far up but its always possible

      Hey Sam im really sorry but it was not my spot so i cant give that out its taken a long time to building friendship for people to share and suggest spots to go try.. What are you trying to or want to catch?? or are you just looking for new spots??

      sorry Ric I cant give that out, I believe there have been crocs there now and a lot of young kids watch my videos so I dont feel fine with putting the location up just incase.. plus its not my spot a mate put me onto it..
