    What a great spot. You're a lucky man to have access - and we're lucky to see it. Thanks.

      Yeah it’s definitely one of my favorite walks for JPs this river, nice sandy bottom and plenty of cutout banks that hold fish!

    Game of chicken with a Cassowary! Glad that didn’t go pear shape! How nice is the environment when you find JPs, found a creek I wandered up for a couple of kms to a decent waterfall, spewing I didn’t pack a rod, heaps of JPs of all sizes! Great stuff again Mick!

      Thanks mate! Yeah I was a bit nervous at first but it didn’t seem to bothered by me! I love the places JP fishing takes me, keen as to go have another shot!

      @@Micksgonefishingyeah mate, fully agree, I’m up for that anytime and can’t wait to get up there full time, also did a wander down the Barron River from the Dam Wall, it was fair flowing as Dam was 105%, but scoped a heap of good snags n deep holes on a few bends, froffin to get up there full time. The whole place is just so alive!

    I honestly believe that out of all the fish in the world a jungle perch is one of the most gorgeous species to grace this country. I finally got my overhead jigging set up finished now. Took a long time but I’m super chuffed with it. It’s a Daiwa saltist 35H matched with a Daiwa Saltist Hyper V2 Slow pitch.

    • @Micksgonefishing

      For sure man they’re a special little fish, and so aggressive 💪🏻 have fun with that combo mate, sounds like it’ll serve ya well

    The idea of being within eye shot of a cassowary sounds terrifying, but the fishing and adventuring looks totally worth it! Awesome videos! Would love to see more of these off the beaten track type spots 🤙🏻

      Thanks mate, yeah I got it all setup on there, only recently got it though… it takes the guesswork out of things for me as I don’t have any gauges and prefer the tiller steer so to have most of what I need on hand on my sounder is very handy

  • @joshuas_fishing

    hey mate i have found that when i go jungle perch fishing i tend to get wind knots quite frequently what should i do

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  2 года назад

      Wind knots aren’t from the wind, they’re from poor line management.. make sure you’re reel is spooled in a \ / or | | shape and not a / \ shape to ensure you’re not throwing loose loops and the other thing what will cause them is winding on loose wraps, you want to have some tension on you’re line when winding at all times..
