  • @leeward2702
    @leeward2702 2 года назад +3

    Yes. It works. I learned the rinse water stands on the greens, drains to the bottom and causes wilting and odor. Also, boiled eggs need to have the water drained off them, each day, because the water drains to bottom and causes bad odor, after a few days. I have not tried paper towels with the eggs; might be better. Thanks, for the info. Blessings.

    I do that now. I also wrap radishes in small bunches in paper towels and put back in bag with twist tie. They stay wonderful. Wrap your full carrots in paper towel about 3 or 4 in each bundle, put bundles back in carrot bag. No rot. Wrap your celery in tin foil as soon as you get home from store. These tips have helped me make my veggies last so much longer. I also put my completely made tossed salad in a plastic container and top with paper towel. Change every time you get some salad. It lasts so much longer. Moisture is what rots your vegetables. Paper towels absorb it.

      Hahaha! The paper towels should be just damp after using them that way. Just lay them out to dry out afterward, and they should be fine to use again. If not for that, use them to wipe grease out of a skillet, or from your hands if you've been massaging cornstarch into meat for a stir fry, or whatever.

    We could learn so much from just listening to our elders today . We don't have forever to do this the way we think . We take them for granted one day they'll be gone and we'll wish we took the time to ask or listen to their stories then . To bad you don't know what you got intill it's gone . Learn from my mistakes and send time with them if your lucky enough to still have them in your life today . You won't be wasting any time stay humble and kind .

    Now this is solid money-saving advice! It’s always irked me how quickly my greens spoiled in the fridge before I could use them all. Can’t wait to try this.

    AWESOME! Thanks so much. I have really been enjoying the wonders of freezing. It took me YEARS to feel comfortable to make homemade whole grain sourdough bread -- but then when I would make it unless my housemate was in an unusual mood to eat my bread (instead of her favorite white), I never could seem to make it last as long as I wanted. Cutting the loaf in half and putting help in the freezer helped, but I still felt a bit stressed. Then FINALLY (drumroll and then DUH...!) I realized I could slice up the bread into sandwich sized wedges and freeze THOSE. It's been a real LIFESAVER. I never have to worry to hurry up and eat my bread before it goes bad anymore, and I can take out just one slice at a time if I want and warm it or toast it in the toastmaster-style oven. VIOLA, super fresh every time. It took me ONLY about 4-5 years to figure that out...! Now I am definitely going to follow your advice oin the greens. I have a bunch in the fridge right now that I bought just before I got sick and had no appetite or energy and have been worrying that those good organic greens were going to go bad before we had a chance to eat them all. THANKS AGAIN -- you're wonderful...! (Oh, and I am freezing cherries per your instructions as we speak, though I had no choice but to let them touch.)
