OET requirements are 350 in all listening , reading and speaking. only WRITING is 300 as mentioned in ECFMG website. Please make correction. As i felt it shouldn't effect anyone I am writing this comment.
Thank you! It's possible that the ECFMG has updated their website cause I can see that doctors are eligible to apply if they obtained their license before 2018 and it was valid by the time of the application
Hi Please note that You have given a wrong information regarding the eligibility! If someone holds a license that was registered prior to 2018 and still was valid in 2018 (but not necessarily is valid now 2022) still eligible to apply for pathway number 1!!! This information is critical for people to know 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi there. Thank you for pointing that out. Anyone prior to 2020/2021 would have taken the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills. Because they canceled this exam, they had to do these other paths. I will point that out in future videos!
Just to find out, Does pathway 1 require that you also upload your license to practice medicine in addition to obtaining a certificate of good standing?
Thanks for the question. You do not need to submit your license to practice medicine. That is only if you cannot get a certificate of good standing. It looks like they strongly prefer a certificate/letter of good standing. Hope this helps!
hi! just to clarify, im currently studying in a school that is not accredited yet, if I will get the license to practice in my home country, that means I'm eligible to apply for USMLE through this pathway? please correct me if i'm wrong, thank you!
Hi thank you for your guidance SIR, I have a question =, I passed my medical license exam in india back in 2012 ( Did med school in China ) and was practicing . I gave my step one in 2021 and now preparing for step 2 ck. What should I do after it in order to be able to apply for a residency program?
What happens if my school isn’t ecfmg certified? I’m a recently graduated doctor in Paraguay (though I’m Brazilian) and the medical school I went to doesn’t show up in the ECFMG or WFME databases… how could I go about applying for residency in the US?
Thanks. I am a UK IMG, with a current license to practice in England. I have passed USMLE 1 and 2 CK. In order to pursue a fellowship in the US in 2025 (NOT matching into a residency). Is this pathway most appropriate? Is there an expiry date? Do we need to “time” the application for a pathway accordingly? Thank you
Hello sir, I am of Indian origin studying in Ukraine, I live in west side of Ukraine. My Med school is ECFMG sponsored but is not accredited by WFME yet. Should i start the process of IWA registration, also from this semester my classes will be in online mode, will online classes will invalidate my degree?
Thanks for the question. Your school is ECFMG sponsored, meaning they are on the eligible list? If you can apply for everything and take the USMLE exams, that would be the best choice for you now. I have a feeling the ECFMG approved schools will be WFME accredited at some point. At this point, I am not sure about online classes. Those are up to the university and the accreditation system. I hope this helps.
Hi I have a provisional degree from my medical school and permanent registration from medical council to practice medicine unsupervised,so will by provisional diploma work as i get my final degree after 8 months ?
Thanks for the info , I have a question If you're an intern in your country (if you're an intern at your original country is fully paid and works just like any other doctor) are they still eligible for pathway 1?
Intern ( even if you are paid , consider yourself lucky 😅) , you are not eligible for pathway 1 because you are being Supervised. An intern is mentored my Residents/ Specialists/ Consultants. To be eligible for pathway 1 , one must be a practicing physician who is Unsupervised.
you've mentioned that a doctor has to be licensed in their home country but what if that doctor did medical university in their home country A and then moved to country B and got licensed to practice independently there? is it still a pathway 1?
If i study from a medical college that has no sponsor note from ecfmg in World Directory of Medical Schools, will this matter while applying through this pathway?
@@JustMe-qx1fh There are 70 medical schools eligible for pathway 2 in Bangladesh. Here is the link to check if your school is one of them. www.ecfmg.org/certification-requirements-2023-match/pathway-schools.php

@@USMDPedia hi again, Not only those who took cs previously but also new applicatnts who didnt have any usmle prior
I’m licensed in my home country, however, I don’t have step 2 CS score since it’s been canceled. Am I still eligible for pathway 1 in 2025?

You will need to submit your medical school transcripts to ERAS in addition to the Certificate/Letter of Good Standing.
can we apply for pathway 1 if we dont have step 2 result but step 1 and oet score are available?

If we start ecfmg pathway application 7 days before getting oet results. Rest requirement is met. Will I save some days of time??

Hi there. Thanks for the question. If your license is valid, pathway 1 would still work.
What if I do have a medical license to practice medicine in my home country but, I graduated from a school that is not accredited by the WFME?.
Hi there. If you are licensed and your license is still valid or was valid after January 1, 2018, you are allowed to apply for pathway 1.

Is your medical school accredited by an approved agency? The WFME has a list of accreditation agencies that are approved for pathways.
I just checked and NO. I am studying in Bangladesh.
