    👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

      Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Has the cute chubby cheeks. Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. Has the huge dimples.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only Avenger (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making non-chalant quips that may or may not seem to be intended as jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
      They were:
      Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.
      We are #notacult.

That would be a "Baby Bones" onesie in this case. When the group started, sometimes they couldn't afford to hire a band to play the music live. Actors in skeleton onsies were brought in to pretend to play the instruments.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊I hope I don't repeat too much of what you have already been told - apologies if I do.
You were spot on describing what they do as a fusion of styles - initially Metal with JPop aesthetics, but they have gone on to include, blend and mix so many other musical styles and genres with the metal since they started.
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boy) to look at to take your mind off bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but it is more than that. 15 is a significant age in Japan, it marks the end of compulsory education, so the girl is also realising that this is a big turning point in her life, her first 15 years passed by so quickly and things will never be the same. She is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist) and Moametal and, since April 1st this year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in - audience participation is a huge part of what BABYMETAL are all about).
The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues.
Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers) dancing in the third spot (it was the same one, Momoko, from about February 2020).
They teased the reveal of a new third member in April this year - happily it was her, so she is all mic'd up and singing as well as dancing now.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They were phased in gradually from October 2012. BABYMETAL had started in 2010 with little or no budget so they sang to a backing track at the start and when they started doing their own small shows guys in skeleton suits (known as Babybones) would pretend to play the instruments.
It was one of them you saw in the crowd in the video (they made a special appearance in the crowd at the concerts in January 2020) making sure everybody was headbanging as the girls were instructing them to.
Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL - as such they originally wore the traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. At the end of 2017 the robes were changed for black robes and since 2019 the face paint was replaced with masks (nearly everybody wants the face paint back, or for them to just get rid of the masks).
The Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions.
In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then.
BABYMETAL formed in 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Kobametal (their producer) was so impressed with the vocal talents and stage presence of a young girl (Suzuka Nakamoto) when he saw her with her previous group that he thought she would be wasted in pop and could do something with the music he liked (he is a lifelong metalhead). She inspired his idea for band fusing metal with Jpop aesthetics with her fronting it as lead vocalist.
He got his chance to work with her when Su joined a newly formed group set up by the Amuse talent agency to coach and train about a dozen of the most talented 10 to 15 year old girls on their books in all aspects of entertainment (acting, singing, dancing, writing, stage management and so on) with a view to them finding what they might want to do to start or continue their careers in entertainment with Amuse when they reached 15 and would finish their compulsory education.
He set up the heavy music club as a sub-unit of the group with Su as lead vocalist and her two young friends supporting her with backing vocals, harmonies and, something not often seen in metal, choreographed dancing.
By 2013, when it was time for Su to leave the parent group since she was 15, BABYMETAL had found their own audience, so it was decided they should split from the group to be Su's vehicle as she furthered her career as a vocalist.
In 2014 they started to tour outside of Asia and Japan for the first time coming to Europe and the US and since then they have won new fans all over the world and become internationally the most successful Japanese band ever and one of the very best live bands on the planet right now - their 3rd album released in 2019 was the first by any Asian group to reach number 1 in the US Billboard Hard Rock charts.
It is BABYMETAL's success abroad that has opened the doors for so many more Japanese bands internationally.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.

I have seen the same look on so many other reactor's faces over the years when they first see Baby Metal. I saw them in NYC this past September 15th in my first seeing them live. It was an amazing show and I'm glad that I got balcony seats because I wouldn't survived on the floor, as I'm 76 and not up to slam-dancing anymore, lol. I know it's a real culture shock.
Baby Metal created a new sub-genre for metal called "Kawaii Metal". Kawaii in Japanese means "cute" and they blended J-Pop with metal and have been a huge success since their first video was released in 2011. It was a tough road at the beginning but they persevered and became a global sensation. This is their 12th year performing and are still going strong. They also dip into other genres, which shows their talent and versatility. They are backed up by the Kami Band, some of the best session musicians on the planet, from both Japan and the US. Suzuka Nakamoto a/k/a Su-Metal is a top vocalist with an amazing combination of power and range. I've been following them for about 6-7 years now since I got back into Japanese music after losing interest in the mid-1990's. There are so many great songs for you to sample, but Headbanger is the right way to start. Enjoy the ride and don't give up on them so soon. They grow on you. To get a real feel for Su's vocal talent, check out the video for Akatsuki, which is as close to a ballad as you will get with Baby Metal. The Budokan Black Night concert has about the best live version. Another great song is Amore, from the concert at Wembley Stadium in London. I know there's a lot to take in, but give it a shot.

All the best Rock and Metal is being made in Japan, usually by female or female-led bands full of artists with the highest standards of musicianship and vocals I've ever heard. Babymetal, Band-Maid (who I rate the best Rock band of all time and I'm 62 and saw the likes of Zeppelin, Zappa and Santana in the 70's, at their peaks), Lovebites (who are up there with the likes of Metallica, Dragonforce or Iron Maiden, who I've seen live too), Nemophila...the list is huge.

Something to make clear, this was a compilation video of Babymetal performing the same song over the years (also clips make it easier to upload on RUclips, copyright is... not always fun on RUclips), if you look closely first thing you can notice is how their clothes change. Babymetal is very much a shock to the system so some people don't even notice at first.
Babymetal is... unusual. It's definitely a fusion, something never done before. It was also a great big experiment, nobody would think on paper that this works.
But it's pure talent, hard work and professionalism of everyone involved in Babymetal that it works. Especially the girls in the center of Babymetal. Yes, Babymetal's origin is part of some corporate entity, but because the idea wasn't from management sitting around a table coming up with this wacky idea and not having any direct involvement Babymetal came out very much as authentic metal (fusion). It really is: little girls (who now have grown up) and metal music, but done right, somehow... some say it's a miracle, because it was unlikely to happen.

Actually, Coach, this track was a tribute to a legendary J-Rock Icon X-Japan. Yoshiki which is the bands leader and also their drumner. Was known for such intense drumming sessions that he sometimes collapsed on stage after a show.
Over the years, his hard rocking took its toll. He had to undergo emergency surgery to repare severe damage to his back and neck. On a least 2 occasions & his doctor's had warmed him.
If he didn't stop, he would be permanently disabled. Yoshiki didn't want to disappoint fans, so he ended up wearing a neck brace so he could continue performing.
You will notice in the video Su-Metal wearing a neck brace that came down from the sky. That is what the reference here is for us.
Yoshiki is also an accomplished concert pianist and has traveled the world performing at some of the worlds most prestigious concerts venues, including Carngie Hall and Rockefeller Center.
He has written movie soundtracks and even composed the theme song to the Golden Globes one year. Babymetal frequently honors X-Japan in different ways, but figured a short backstory was needed here for reference. :b🤘🦊

This song shows the value of the two support singers/dancers who engage the crowd and gube them cues when to chant and gesture. The main singer, Su-metal and the band are 10/10 by themselves, Moa, Yui, Momo and co dial it up to 11. They are incredible live, watch those rather than the official videos.
Try Pa Pa Ya, BMC live, Megitsune or Catch Me If You Can. Evert song is different, and range from good to mind-blowing.

Hah this is fun! I became a fan the beginnint of this year, and saw them in Houston and Dallas a few months ago, and it is the most surreal high energy show ive ever seen!
I swear they create new synapses in your brain.. of course when i first heard a song and watched the video (you should always watch live, they are built to be a live experience) i was so confused, but now it sounds completely normal to me!
They are older now, but still have the most insane energy and stage presence and crowd interaction ever. Hope you go deeper and check them out!
    Some personal observations..
The hard work they put in is awe inspiring.
They make me laugh, smile, and feel like a kid again (im 46)
No two songs sound alike. They blend a lot of cultural musical ideas with metal.
The choreo is an extremely important part of it, they are acting out each song.
The meanings of some songs are silly and straightforward, but they have a lot of powerful messaging, like Megitsune (about girl power) and my personal favorite, Ijime Dame Zettai, which translates to heartbreaking yet inspiring lyrics about bullying.

Good reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
"Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "ヘドバンギャー! !" (Hedobangyā!!) is about a girl who attends to her first metal concert on the night of her 15th birthday and that causes a great impact on her. That is the age of the end of the compulsory school in Japan so young people have to make some relevant decisions at that point. So this is actually about coming on age and leaving the childhood behind with a hint of nostalgia.
Not a biographical theme because this is a pretty early song and Su-metal performed it for the first time when she was only 14.
This video is a compilation from several shows (probably 10 or more) from 2013 to 2020. And it's not the ideal way to experience them since it's quite distracting with constant changes: stages, costumes and even members. I would stay away of this kind of mash-ups although I know it's easier to avoid copyright issues with this kind of compilations.
Since you already have a ton of info, I'd like to remark that they are very diverse musically as they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with any metal-subgenre. So you always need to expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁
    Until next time!

Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥
Cool you got this song as a first suggestion but trust me there's a lot of better version to enjoy this without the messiness of this live compilation, it's even more meaningful when this got a context with each one of the original clips.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
They were part of Sabaton's Europe Tour, and also the Asian and Australian Tour as well the Babyklok Tour in the US and everyone were having a blast with them coming back to the stage in this live tour, right now they're rocking out with the Europe and UK Tour until next month.
Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind.
Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday.
15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date.
Some live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
Another thing that you don't see so much in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult-
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
    They are:
    - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
    - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
    - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday".
    - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene.
Right now they are touring with another complete different set of musicians, we called them Western Kami Band, they've been playing with them since 2019, so the Kami Band musicians aren't official members and the girls are the only front women of this group.
Like i said they've been slaying the live shows with this classic hit and everyone love it, you can even see the difference in the grown up version with the new member and the girls headbanging real hard like they've never did before.
If YT allow me, I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react since sometimes is very hard to watch some of their vids.
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015)
    See you next time!🦊🤘🛐

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/dU38CYkpBvI/видео.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ruclips.net/video/nwsinmxTxbo/видео.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ruclips.net/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/видео.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ruclips.net/video/ESzY9dL613Q/видео.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ruclips.net/video/1dT1ywYR5So/видео.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/видео.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ruclips.net/video/M8FKumvh-w8/видео.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      ruclips.net/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/видео.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      ruclips.net/video/gDne0xwniTg/видео.html
There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

Nice first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they are currently on another world tour that included many dates here in the USA, and released a new amazing album just a few months ago! They also just released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello.🤘🦊🤘

Time to take a trip down the fox hole (Thats how its referred when diving into babymetal content instead of a rabbit hole, because the "Fox God" is the one behind the music.) The MUST reaction when it comes to babymetal is definitely "Road to Resistance, live in Japan (official)", it's an absolute amazing performance, and the crowd participation is top tier. Babymetal has now been around for over a decade, toured the world, met with several metal legends over the years (even performing with some) and while some seem confused with the concept in general, these legends have given the group their approval and say they belong and have earned their spot. I believe in some rankings babymetal has even been put into the top 10 for metal bands all time. The band behind the girls is the "Kami band" btw (pronounced like Kah-mee) which translates to "God".

@@CoachCastTV The hand gesture they use also resembles a fox. Instead of the typical devil horns people hold up related to metal. The middle and ring finger along with the thumb meet at their tips sticking forward, with the index and pinky pointing up. Originally one of the girls kept doing that instead of the devil horns and its how the fox god was born. Their music references the fox god a lot, and when asked in interviews about production or lyrics or future things they respond saying "Only the Fox God knows" or how the Fox God had created them.

Welcome to BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL is Japan's most internationally active metal unit. They have already played 90 shows in various countries this year, and yesterday they sent a crowd of 7000 into a frenzy in Hamburg. They just finished their show in Berlin.

This song was their third or fourth single released in 2012. So this is an old song that has become a staple in their live set list. You should hear the new stuff! It's like... Wow🤯 on another level of progressive metal. I highly suggest reacting to Divine Attack or Monochrome from their latest album, The Other One. They also released a separate single track not on any album, called メタり(translates to METARI or METALI) with Tom Morello. It is a fusion of the words Metal and Matsuri (festival in Japanese) and is one of those audience participation type songs. I hope you can add these songs to your list. You won't be disappointed.

Headbanger is also a pun. The song is about a girl going to a concert. She is a metal fan, a headbanger. In Japan a Ban-gurl is a girl fan of a band. The head Ban-gurl is like the fan club president. So she is head Ban-gurl & headbanger

Babymetal are Japan's most famous musical export. They combine heavy metal music with Japanese J-pop vocals, dance and aesthetics to create a fusion that they called "kawaii metal" (cute metal). The group was the brainchild of their producer/manager Kobametal (Key Kobayashi), who wanted to revitalize interest in metal in Japan by making a crossover act that could serve as a gateway to metal for pop fans.
Babymetal began in 2010 as a side project of the schoolgirl J-pop group Sakura Gakuin when group members Su-metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal were 12, 10 and 10 years old respectively. A few years later in 2013, Babymetal's popularity was such that they spun off to become an independent act, which they have continued to this day. They are most famous for their elaborate and spectacular live shows, as you saw in this video, and fans (including me) travel from all over the world to Japan in order to attend.
The three founding members that feature in this video are lead vocalist Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), and backing vocalists and dancers Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi). Yuimetal retired from Babymetal in 2018 due to illness, but Moametal continues with Su-metal to this day, and they have since been joined by Momometal (Momoko Okazaki), who officially joined the group in April this year.
When Babymetal perform live, they are accompanied by a group of musicians known as the Kami Band (God/Spirit Band), who are made up of some of Japan's best session musicians. The Kami Band only perform at live shows, not on the albums, and they are not considered to be part of Babymetal; only the three girls are Babymetal.
Despite being a Japanese band that sings in Japanese, Babymetal has fans in every corner of the globe, and they tour more extensively that any other Japanese musical act. In fact, they are currently on tour in Europe, having already performed over 60 shows this year in Europe, Asia, Australia, and America.
Babymetal fans are collectively known as "The One", and individually are called "kitsune" (fox) if male, and "megitsune" (vixen) if female. To say that we are fanatical is a bit of an understatement, but any rumors you might hear about us being a cult are false. #notacult

Love seeing folks experience to Babymetal for the first time. You folks did a nice job. I am only recently become aware of this amazing group. And no, nobody else does what they do. They are known for their epic live performances. They actually formed in 2010 when the three females were in their teens. They are now in their 20's and going strong. Their engagement of audiences is almost beyond parallel and the group loves their crowds. This video by the way was a compilation from several performances giving a nice taste of the unique spectacles they put on everytime. Really fun reaction and keep up the good work.

BABYMETAL is a performance you absolutly don't wanna miss. There are so many good female metal bands coming out of japan, I would recommend "Hanabie. - We love sweets" they are a hard/metalcore band, "Nemophila - Zen Live" they are a more traditional thrash metal band, "Lovebites. - Stand and Deliver" they are a powermetal band, any of those you will probably be impressed.

Only way to watch Babymetal is live, every song has an uplifting fun theme. like this one, a 15 yr old girl seeing her first heavy metal gig, to Pa Pa Ya, about a summer festival salad, and Karate, about helping each other to fight and overcome anything, to keep moving forward. Every song is different and awesome. speaking of "traditional" heavy metal, there is no song as metal as Babymetal "Death" Live. it doesn't get any more metal than the lead singer, 16 yrs old, getting crucified on stage. (for her 16th birthday)
Speaking of crowd control Su-Metal is the QUEEN of crowd control and Metal!

If you've got any doubts about Babymetal's Metal credentials they've been going now for 13 YEARS . They've toured the world numerous times on their own and have either opened for , toured with or collaborated with some of the biggest names in Rock & Metal - Metallica , GunsN'Roses , RHCP , Korn , Sabaton , Rob Halford ( Judas Priest ) , Tom Morello ( RATM ) , Kingslayer to name but a few which gives you some idea of the respect in which they are held by their peers + numerous festivals worldwide . They regularly play to crowds of 20k + at their own concerts .
All this and Su-Metal the lead singer ( and oldest ) will be just 26 this month !

Fun reaction thanks! Just one comment on heavy metal bands not having choreography: The historical great bands all have theatrics, and the legendary ones pioneered their style. Babymetal combines choreo in their theatrics as one part of engaging and including the audience in the show (it's fascinating), they pioneered their style. They are so good.
Live is always the way to go with Babymetal. Studio is excellent, Live is excellent++

BABYMETAL are the most unique metal experiences in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, and their styl,e and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well and they’re so passionate about metal, they know everything about the metal music world 🌏 and they’ve created a very special feeling and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young to old. Babymetal may not be everyone's metier but if you don't like fine. The looks on y'alls faces at 1:50 had me laughing so hard I was crying-- that was very much my first reaction to Baby Metal, too! the first song I ever heard was Gimme Chocolate, which is equally off putting at first, because its such a stark contrast between the two different styles of an ultra-kawaii (cute)/lolita j-pop band and heavy metal band. But once you get behind the concept, they've got some bangers.

Babymetal is one of my favorites, I have seen them live also back around the time of this song. that was a compilation of multiple live performances most of them from when they were about 16 years old, yeah 16(and 14) year old girls in complete control of over 50,000 people in some of those venues. There were clips of them doing it when they are older, today they are about 25 years old. They really only do videos of performances, they really dont need MVs. There are some out there but not many. The Kami Band(white robes) are incredible musicians as well. You will love everything they do. Their earliest videos will be when they are about 10 and 12 years old, yeah doing metal most are from when they are 16 to 18 and the song topics are for their age(I speak japanese). Some performances like the babymetal death from the 1997 legend concert(birth year of one of them) is insane, even the old 70s metal bands would not do what these girls did lol. Songs about girls pressured to not eat to be thin, anti bully, making a plan to get dad to buy presents, today the songs are more about life experiences and etc because they are adults now. They also have some collabs, a really good one is them singing Judas Priest songs live with Rob Halford himself. Great metal band, probably the best for overall production in performance. If you want a really good hard rock band, women who can shred guitars, probably the best basist in the world, or at least up there with the likes of flea and one of the best drummers as well, Band Maid(also japanese). You already know about mamamoo the best group of vocalists.
