Companies should be training their reps not expecting RUclips to educate them. If companies want to gain more revenue they need to invest in their team to succeed. Spray and pray and baptism by fire is not the way to go. You’d think brokerages would understand that by now.

@@MeghanSAmaya that’s a great point! Unfortunately, most companies don’t want to spend money and time to properly train their sales staff.

@@Freight360I agree. When I started 7 years ago. I’d ask my LS and he’d tell me “It’ll come to you in time”. It felt like he never wanted to train me, just make sure I could cover his loads.

@@hitman3024 Sure sounds like it. Patience is important, but I'll be damned if I'm going to accept "it'll come to you in time" as helpful advice.

Yeah, looking back on the experience I knew that the culture with that company was fake, but I just waited to get out on my own book of business and do research on the industry to figure things out. I have a great team now based out of Nashville tgats very helpful 😎

Dial, dial, and dial some more. Repetition and fending off complacency is your number 1 goal as someone new. Learn from all of your calls and keep a list of what works and what doesn't. Don't be afraid to get creative and refrain from word vomiting when someone actually answers the phone.
