My HP mini 800 g2 was beeping and giving no display after replacing cpu from i5 to Core i7-6700 even after latest Bios update. But i than replaced the AC Adapter from 65W to 90W and IT WORKED! i got the idea through common sense, this video, and reading comments here. so im giving you the credit! thanks.
Hey, excuse me, can you check the V and A of the new one? I'm thinking about upgrading it, but i'll probably add better cooling? Is it good with the default one?
@@zeusslightning1238 after the upgrading to core i7 the hp mini 800 g2 requested and required me to add another fan (there is a connector for another fan next to the ssd cable) so i found some fan i had - so just be ware . you need adapter 19V 4.74A
@@jessefinneman7680Hello, your comment will be very important to me. I have an HP Elitedesk G2 65W mini PC. It currently has an i5 6400T processor. I am seriously considering upgrading this processor to i7 6700. My device's charging adapter is 90W (19.5V ~ 4.62 A). Will it be efficient when upgrading to this processor? Will I have any problems? Are you satisfied?
Great video. Do you think HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini support i7 6700K if you use the 90 w power supply? 6700K has a higher performance but has wattage of 91 w
The video producer never replied. I did my own foot work and discovered that the upgrade I shared with you is the highest upgrade it will support. I am actually sending you this message through my upgraded HP, Lol
@@HalfFullSella Hahah, Thank you, I was looking for this for quite some time. And the answers were questionable. You saved me a lot of time. I have four of these PCs and I think they will still be good machines O:)
Great video! i have exact same PC but with i5 6500 65w. What about upgrading to newer generation? like i7 7700? or i7 8700? Will that work? Thanks for answer!
would also like to know. this depends on the chipset and the 7xxx cpus should be supported. installed a 7500t but getting a black screen. i wonder if the cpu is faulty or i need to reset the cpu....
@@deaddogmeat It does support 4k. Either the monitor is not reporting 4k ability or your OS is using a generic monitor "driver" (really a list of available modes) which does not include the settings required for 4k. Note: 4k with HDMI on the HP 800 G2 mini is limited to 30Hz unless you use an external graphics card running from the M.2 slot. I am able to run 4k (3840x2160 full 4k) 60Hz over DP using the monitor "driver" from Samsung on my U28D590 4k monitor. In parallel I am running a Samsung C34J79x at 100Hz from a second DP connection. Again, I unlocked all modes for both monitors by using monitor "drivers" from the Samsung website. Other monitors should work, too. The difference is Samsung publish the monitor "drivers" whilst some manufacturers skip that and expect the OS to intuit what the monitor can do; this is a dumb way to make hardware. Before buying a monitor in the future, check the manufacturer cares enough to publish the colour calibration and mode "driver" for your chosen OS. If they do not, go elsewhere. Follow this and you will thank me later.

The best upgrade is
Intel Core i7 6th Gen - Core i7-6700 Skylake Quad-Core 3.4 GHz LGA 1151 65W

I have a EliteDesk G2 mini with I5-6500T, this upgrade work for me? is compatible?
You should have a better heatsink like shown in this video because the HP Mini PC with 'T' processors are meant for low wattage machines.
Can I upgrade I5 3470 to I7 6700?
not possible, they are different generation.
