Thank you so much for this description, you perfectly explained it. Now I know how to prevent my okpa from sedimenting.
You are welcome
I have made all the mistakes, the last one was soft up n hard down, one time it was oil up n white down plus soft up... I have made it without any mistakes but now I know exactly what to do. Thanks for this video
You are welcome
Please how did you get it right with the soft up, down hard situation?
Thanks.
@@sabrinaopara3592 she got it by putting the okpa inside the pot of boiling water immediately after scooping into the aluminum plate…she said it in the video.Reason is that if you don’t put it into the pot immediately after scooping it’ll sediment..I made the same mistake the last time I made okpa that I’ve been so scared to make it again but I thank God I came across this vid.Going to make one right now.
Hope you’re cleared
@@emmanuellaemenike5623 thanks for the reply. I always put the plate in immediately, but still has d same issue. Which has made me believe it's from my mixture.
I want to try the aluminum pouch and see how it goes.
@@sabrinaopara3592 I just made mine and it came out same(soft top and down hard)I’m so discouraged to be honest. To think I thought I finally found the solution to this problem.I don’t know if it’s from the mixture or the flour,I don’t even know again 😞😞
Omah su b scribey yo!!! Lol 🤣.
U gained a new subscriber 😊😊
Thank you 🥰

All this praises for okpa chaii okpa enugu chaii. I thought it was moi moi at first i like the end result plus i don't think people still cook without adding maggi.
Lol. Okpa na big deal especially in Enugu state😅 the popular okpa 042.
Thanks sis for watching
I've been seeing this opa around especially in Abuja but I've never tasted it. It looks delicious, just like moi moi made with palm oil. I'm going to be trying it out someday. Great share sis 🥰🧡
You are welcome sis. Pls try it out ❤

Where do you buy your Okpa powder in the us? Cool video. Well done.
In the African store
I was thinking about adding a Maggi cube!
Okay. Try it
How do I get the tin container u used
It looks good please where did you buy the aluminum plate you used?
Thank you. In an African store.
This was really helpful and I am waiting for my resultb😅
😉
Mine from physical review, tasted nice but the top side was softer than the down. I am not sure if it was because I used a cooking pouch instead of your type of container. Anyway, your video was insightful and it’s my first Okpa ever 😂
@Nursenkvibes wow, your first time making Okpa Pote 🤣
You did a great job. I'm sure next time, you will get a better consistency. I haven't tried using pouch but I'm not surprised at the texture it gave you. Next time use cup or even foil
This is really what I would love to try eating but I don't know where to order it
Okay dear. I hope you do soon
Ogor m.j.t. I have okpa flour for sale
@@chinazaruth5456 ok thanks.... i will love to buy it
Ogor m.j.t chat me 08069667132
Hello Ada, just stumbled on your channel on Facebook. Where did you buy your moi moi cup in the states? I’m tired of foil bursting😂
Hi dear. I bought it from African store here in Chicago, IL.
You can search for it online.
Thanks 4 the video but what tip can you give to know that the opka is well cooked and ready.
I only time it. Once it has cooked for between 45 minutes to 1 hr (depending on the qty in the pot), then I'm sure it has cooked properly.
where did you buy the cooking wares
From the African store
Please where can I buy the stainless cups with lid, I am in Pennsylvania.
I bought mine from the African Store here.
Please can I use normal flour.. or baking flour powder to make the okpa ?
No dear.
We're do l get the powder from
Nigeria or African store
Can i cook okpa using a moin-moin steamer if it is already releasing the steam before i add the okpa?
Will it sediment with this method?
You can use it. Just make sure you drop it into a pot of boiling water .
@@AdorableKitchen thank you.
Where c
can I get those containers
I got mine from African store.
Ur okay is nice but I want to learn okay plantain leave pls I want to know how to fold the paper
You can search it on RUclips. There are some videos on that
What of if ur containers does have cover
If you mean "doesn't" have covers, you can use a foil to cover
Please Is Uzizah same as clove?
No dear
Please where can I buy the ingredients
It depends on your location
Can we use the powder for swallow?
No
Pls I added nutmeg to the mixture and it's been cooking for 2 hours the bottom is rock solid while the top is soft
We don't add nutmeg to it. 2 hrs is too much, it usually takes between 30 - 45 mins.
Does this taste like moi moi? I feel I’ve been eating this at parties and mistaken it for moi moi
No, this is different from moi moi. I'm sure the one you eat at parties is moi moi. Not this 😄
So nice, made mine but half is done and up didn't. What could be the problem
Go through the comments, I have answered this question severally.
@@AdorableKitchen thanks i did mine today again and it came out fine. My family are happy 🤗
hi, okpa turns soft on top and hard at the bottom after cooking what could be the reason ? i feel i dint turn it enough can i use blender to turn okpa?
No you can't use a blender. Was it too watery? Did you let it sit before cooking them in boiling water? There are so many things that could cause this issue.
@@AdorableKitchen i did not let it sit how do i do that is it after turning then i let it sit b4 putting in the plate to cook it? i dont kno wen its too watery
Why did you add uziza leaves?
It gives it's own flavor. It's optional
Please can i follow moimoi procedure to prepare mine. I have d seed in not the powder
Sorry dear, can you rephrase your question. You can't use the seed to cook moimoi or okpa if that's the question
@@AdorableKitchen ok ma.
Thank you very much
Nice video. But what’s “liquidy” 😃😃
You are welcome.
Okpa Washington DC
Can we use the red bell pepper instead of palm oil?
No.
Adaora Adaora Adaaora
Please how many times did I call you
There is God ooo
We are relocating to your house with my clan
I don’t have okpa powder so let me come to your house
Lol. Biko bianu. We dey wait for una😅
Why don’t people use crayfish in Okpa?
Their choice
Ohhh! My mistake I just found, I let it sit. I wait to finish putting all my okpa inside the container before placing it in the boiling water.
Aha! My Okpa will no longer sediment
Yes, never let it sediment ☺️
