We switched to the NInja about 6 months ago, and there's no going back for us. We make a full pot first thing in the morning, and then use it for single cups of coffee and tea throughout the day. There's no need to store the single cup insert - it sits nicely right on top of the brewer, and it takes up very little room right next to the machine. We also bought ours on sale for waaaay less than the listed price of the Keurig.
One of the great Ninja features you didn't mention is that it has a different path for the water when you choose the tea/hot water setting, so there's no coffe grounds or coffee taste in your tea. You can also choose the water temp - we prefer our green teas at the 'hot' setting rather than boil. There is a slight issue with the Ninja carafe: it doesn't empty easily. To pour out ALL the coffee or hot water you need to hold the thing almost upside down! And ours does beep when the water's low.
Even when the Ninja costs more than the Keurig there's no comparison: The Ninja is a more versatile brewer with more features that can accomidate both coffee and tea drinkers.

Dangit... I forgot to mention the water pathing...that was nice. I've seen some people compaining about coffee grounds getting into the cup when using the k-cup attachment. Have you had any issues with that? We typically just brew full carafe's so we haven't seen that.

Having to remove the k-cup adapter form the NInja is a big plus, instead of a minus. Ninja parts can be obtained from their web site, and almost every main part, including the k-cup adapter are available for purchase.

Thanks for the coverage. We have purchased and returned two in a row of the Keurig K-Supreme Plus C Single Serve Coffee Maker, as they both stopped brewing after a couple weeks. Going to step up a notch and based on your review go with the Nimja. Also with all the added features ought to keep my family busy trying to learn the unit

You're welcome.. It's a cool machine... We do 2 full carafes a day and haven't had any kind of issues yet... I don't use the single serve function on it very often often though... Otherwise I'd have a bin full of empty kcups every day. Haha

  • @2thmanfl

I bought this unit in December 2021 to replace a previous Keurig. I agree with most of your comments, and really agree that the Ninja is a much better solution for the dual brew option. I rarely use the thermal carafe, and prefer to brew fresh single k-cups with my own coffee (2 or 3 in a row) in the k-cup adaptor from Amazon (I didn't think the plastic top would hold up, but it's been doing fine for several months, with using an inner liner too, which makes for easier cleanup, and I can drop it into a compost bin).
I also feel like the thermal carafe does not clean well, and the coffee tastes less "fresh" to me. Have used most of the other features with success, including frother, iced setting, hot water (with no coffee contamination), etc.
Footprint is excellent for a dual brew. I also feel the separate k-cup attachment is a great idea, not an issue, especially when it allows for a smaller total unit.
I have really loved the machine until it suddenly stopped working yesterday. Turns on, but attempts to brew and turns off. I tried unplugging up to 24 hrs as recommended, still no Joe. Found out today it is covered under a "limited warranty," and she confirmed they are sending a new motor unit, but I have to pay shipping of $22. I asked how do I know this won't happen again in less than a year, and she replied they upgraded the motor unit. I replied if they upgraded it, then there must have been a defect so I should not have to pay anything. She said they upgrade periodocally, etc. so I paid.
This is why I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Thanks for your comparison, although I would not give the price win to Keurig due to the extra features you noted on the ninja, so not really apples to apples.

Thanks for the info, Steven! Sorry to hear about that. Would have been nice if they just gifted that part for you. I haven't had any issues with mine yet, but I've pretty much just used the carafe.... But I do brew a couple of pots most days, and so far we've been pretty fortunate with reliability. Hopefully the problem doesn't surface on you again. Agree with you about the cleaning... The carafe is a little hard to clean. I use vinegar and lemon juice on the interior of it and scrub it down every so often and that's worked out pretty well for me.

We just unpacked our ninja, we love it! The coffee was wonderful, we tried the iced feature and it was great! Very happy ! And here's the nice part about the ninja pause feature, if you want to use any kind of pot OTHER than the regular pot, you can. Most auto pause features work because the drip apperature and pot are mated, so you can't use that pretty China pot to brew into.

We purchased a Ninja dual brew a year ago. The machine is now in the trash. Clean function continually interrupts brew (even after cleaning/descaling several times, even used CLR one time but still no joy) ... and the "add water" comes on even when the pitcher is full. Takes several times of "off and on" to clear the errors. This machine also has a lot of steam and spits coffee all over the place when brewing the K-cups. Total waste of money, IMO. We have now purchased the Keurig.

My Ninja Dualbrew Pro crapped out after 3 months. I get the dreaded clean light. I went through 10 or so full clean processes to no avail. When brewing with the basket it works fine. I called Ninja because the pod attachment had become so warped from steam I could hardly remove it. After a live review by Ninja support, they decided the pod adapter was defective. They wanted me to pay for a new one, stating it was a consumable part. After voicing my extreme dissatisfaction with this option, they offered a 30% discount. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor upon which they went ahead and agreed to send a new one free of charge with the caveat...the next one was on me. Needless to say, I was livid. After receiving the new adapter, it still failed to perform....shooting out hot steam only. If I put the pod adapter in without a K-Cup it works fine...put a pod in and it blows steam only. There appears to be something wrong with the pump in that it does not press the water through the pod. The dilemma is having to call back and deal with them again with the likely option being they will send a new machine after I return the other one at my cost. Ain't happening...I will yeet it in the garbage and move on to another brand. All this being said, I will never purchase another Ninja product based on their sketchy customer service. This unit is inherently defective in my opinion. The internet is overwhelmed with similar complaints. I have never had a Keurig blow blue steam out so long and so hot it warped the housing.

Ours seems to be OK... The trick is that in order for it to stay hot for any real time, you have to brew a full carafe. It needs the energy from all the hot coffee to maintain the heat. If I just do a half, for example, it ends up cooling off within probably about 90 minutes or so... With a full, I can keep it pretty hot for around 3 or 4 hours.... But it's not blazing hot either.
