Blizzard for Ben

- Ben wanted to come ride some Big cold waves at Stoney Point. And this was just the blizzard he'd waited for.
So in the a.m., while the guest of honor, was on his way up from the air port, the local crew found some fun little clean waves around the corner, coming in at Boulders first. And by the afternoon, Ben Gravy was in the line up at Stoney, and making another one of his dreams come true. What an honor it was to host this down to earth professional surfer, you tube movie maker and world traveler, here at our humble lake surf spot. He sure earned some icicles this day, and showed us how that wave should be ridden. A thousand thanks you's to him and his film crew for this visit !
Storm force winds of over 50 knots blew right out of the North for over a day, and coupled with cold below zero wind temperatures, and wind chills, this sure made for perfect wave creating conditions. Great for making Ice Helmets too.
You're always welcome back here again on Superior's NOrth Shore, Ben Gravy, you sure brought the stoke.

Excellent video! Am curious what kind of gloves and booties you dudes wear in those arctic conditions?
Randy Brich, we wear seven mill mitts, and eight mil booties, with another one mil neoprene sock under that. 6/5 hooded suits, and in this cold, maybe even a 3/2 spring suit over that. You can see the guy in the red springer/yellow board, like that, and also Ben Gravy wore a springer over his 5/4.....e..
