You’ve probably seen this drill before, but have you paid attention to all the intricacies in the mechanics and movement? Every drill is done for a reason, move with intent and purpose to improve athleticism and speed!
Great drill! Going to incorporate with my athletes. Love the mentality-- intent and purpose! Why do it if it isn't with those things?!
Thanks for the comment! Totally agree!
Wonderful with allaround performance.
Thanks bala!
Thank you. I'll try this.
Great! No Problem!
This exercise makes your hip flexors stronger?
It will help some with hip flexor strength. This is more of a posture and position drill. Below are a few better hip flexion exercises.

Can we the drill using ankle weights?
You could, if you are looking to overload. Most are not ready to progress to resistance with this drill. Band resistance may also be a better choice.
Should we sprint after doing these drills to gain better development or doing these without finishing with running or sprinting is enough. Due to COVID restrictions going out and sprinting is quite tough.
Yes, if possible. This is a posture and position drill (understanding correct posture and positioning of ankle, knee, hip, foot, etc.) through the recovery leg movement. This drill is helpful, but you must actually sprint to improve speed!
@@SimpleSpeedCoach Stair sprints would be a good choice to improve sprinting speed? That's my only likely option if the beach isn't available.
@@vishaalramesh7 Yes, they would be a great option. I love Incline Sprints! Beach would also be great as the sand will make it harder to apply force.
@@SimpleSpeedCoach Thank you!
@@vishaalramesh7 No problem!
Reps and time ?
Start with 1 switch, then hold and pause (20 times). Then you can progress to multiple switches, 3 sets of 5 would be a good starting point.
Is this just going to help mechanics or speed and mechanics?
Great question! The main purpose of this drill is to understand posture and positions within the complex movement of sprinting. So if you improve posture and master the movement (positions) you will increase speed!
Simple Speed Coach ok thank you
@@-vll- No Problem!
Simple Speed Coach if I have any more questions would you answer them?
@@-vll- To a point, if you have a lot of questions we can set up a consulting time for a fee.
holy complicated..
Sprinting is the most complex human movement. You need to break it down into small movements to improve the overall coordination and speed. Wall Sprint Drills are great for understanding sprint posture and position.
